2010-05-26 Thread Ed Bueche
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

After disconnecting the power cord a message pops up that incorrectly
calculates that the laptop is about to run out of power. It says that 3
minutes are left. In many cases it just shuts down the system. The
actual battery charge is 4+ hours.

[Bug 587247] [NEW] after closing and reopening netbook lid screen stays blank

2010-05-29 Thread Ed Bueche
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Every so often when using my toshiba nb305 with ubuntu 10 I close and reopen
the lid and the screen stays blank.
This seems to happen more often when I did not lock my screen prior to doing
this. I'm forced to shut off the machine. The restart is painful (many times
afterward the filesystem has to be repaired).

[Bug 587286] [NEW] constantly prompted to re-authenticate for outlook web interface with firefox 3.6.x

2010-05-29 Thread Ed Bueche
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

when running outlook web interface with firefox 3.6.x I'm constantly
forced to re-authenticate with the server. with the 3.5.x this didn't
happen all that often, but now at this point it happens constantly (even
when using it every couple of seconds). It has rendered this browser
useless for this type of application. It doesn't happen with Jira web
interface or any other one, only with outlook web interface (which uses
https, but so do several other applications I use). This only started
happening with the upgrade to ubuntu 10.04.

Periodically on ubuntu 10.04 firefox will hang (window grays out) after
initiating a command. All firefox windows hang and are unresponsive. I
attempt to restart firefox and am unable to kill all of the processes
even with sudo:

The problem does not affect Opera.
I attempt to 'sync' the filesystem before rebooting and sync hangs as well.
I have to shutdown the machine using the power button.

[Bug 352574] Re: system reboots instead of waking up from hibernation

2010-08-10 Thread Ed Bueche
I started getting this behavior after downloading the latest linux a
couple of days ago for an already running ubuntu 10.04 environment.
Prior to this I had hibernate and suspend working properly. So, I don't
know if I have this bug or just a new regression. I'm running on a
toshiba nb305.
