[Bug 366918] Re: After upgrade, switching themes wont affect window borders anymore

2010-05-18 Thread Dr. Kenobi
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Are you still using Ubuntu 9.04? I have checked this on
10.04 and it's working fine.

But unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How
to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html and "Reporting
Bugs" https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

To be considered complete, a bug report should normally contain:

* The version of Ubuntu you are running
* The version of the package you are using (look at Synaptic Package
Manager)
* The actions taken to produce the problem
* Whether or not it is possible to reproduce the bug
* The expected result of these actions
* The actual result of these actions

Something very useful is to add more information running this in a
terminal: apport-collect 366918

difference is that I don't use the IP number, instead I use the name of

[Bug 583539] [NEW] Lucid freeze during large file transfer

2010-05-20 Thread Dr. Kenobi
Public bug reported:

System freezes when I attempt to copy large files between 2 internal
ext4 formatted sata drives. I get the same freeze whether in gnome, a
root shell via the rescue boot option, or booting the server version.
This crash is repeatable; attempts to copy a large, say a 40 GB
directory from one drive to the other will crash the system. I booted
Knoppix 6.2.1 and I can successfully copy the files I was attempting in
Ubuntu, so clearly the problem resides in Ubuntu 10.4.

My system:

Ubuntu 10.4 AMD64 (2.6.32-22), Athlon II X4 cpu, 8 GB RAM, 2 Seagate 1TB
sata drives, ATI 5770 video, Gigabyte MA785-UD2H mb

I will provide more detailed system info when needed.

I have a screen shot of the stack trace when the crash occurs.

I'm using chromium and the name is not empty, so you'll never save a
file ".extension". I agree that it's a good idea for the dialog to
remember .ps or .pdf, but if you use chromium the default is .pdf. It
should be possible to choose a folder where to save all this files, like
you do with Downloads. Last, we are talking about many things in the
same report, there should be a report for each 'bug'.

Mikael, the screensaver seems not to be related. This unexpected

[Bug 370898] Re: LDAP plugin for opensync missing?

2010-05-22 Thread Dr. Kenobi
** Description changed:

  Hi,

I found that there is a plugin for opensync which uses an LDAP directory
as data source (see e.g. http://www.opensync.org/wiki/plugins/ldap).
- Ubuntu (in my case: intrepid) has a set of packages with different
- opensync plugins (typically named opensync-plugin-),
- however I can't find a package which includes the LDAP plugin.
+ Ubuntu (in my case: intrepid AND LUCID) has a set of packages with
+ different opensync plugins (typically named opensync-plugin-), however I can't find a package which includes the LDAP plugin.

Is the LDAP plugin available with any standard Ubuntu package (which
one?) or is it simply missing (is there a reason for this?)?

Thanks a lot for your help, and best regards
  Heiko

One doesn't "quit" aisleriot, one closes the window, for which the stock

the window manager's binding for Close Window). I don't think we need a
third keybinding for that.
