[Bug 55045] DAAP shares not listed

Public bug reported:

Rhythmbox cannot list other DAAP shares. I've got mt-daapd running and
Banshee lists it immediately, while RB not. Also, when I have RB,
Banshee and mt-daapd on the avahi-discovery sees 3 shares, Banshee sees
2 other shares and RB sees nothing, although it shares library.

[Bug 55200] Not good with beginers

2006-08-04 Thread DoomHammer
Public bug reported:

Recently my girlfriend, having Ubuntu Dapper, wanted to watch a DVD.
Since she dislikes Totem, she started VLC. And here began problems,
cause she couldn't find out, how to play a DVD. There were some "play
disk" tab, but it was full of spaces to fill, which scared her, and
furthermore clicking OK wasn't enough.

My request is for VLC to come preconfigured so that a newbie could
without problems view her/his movies. Moreover - all those input like
device to use, track to begin with, etc. should go inot advanced menu -
poor girl didn't know that /dev/dvd is the same as her DVD drive (well,
she didn't know about the existence of /dev/dvd).

[Bug 59979] Re: Upstream update

2006-09-12 Thread DoomHammer
I mean the 1.1.90 - this one gets advantage from Avahi service
discovery. And the whole OpenLDAP should be updated. Ubuntu has OpenLDAP
2.2. Debian has 2.3. There is a patch for 2.3 to add support for Avahi
in OpenLDAP. This connected with LAT's ability to locate announced
server would mean automagical autodiscovery.

[Bug 88637] xdg-utils as a dependency

2007-02-28 Thread DoomHammer
Public bug reported:

I think xdg-utils should be listed as dependencies for both ubuntu-
desktop and kubuntu-desktop (and probably others *ubuntu-desktops) thus
allowing easier scripting portable scripts. This way I could issue xdg-
open file.pdf to open a default PDF viewer, instead of managing a whole
database of such in my tiny script.
