2008-03-07 Thread Dieter Schliemann kx4y
Hi

I appreciate your interest in my problem.

Doing lspci, shows under network controller: Intersil Corporation Prism
2.5 Wavelan Chipset (rev 01)
When I tried to resolve the problem on my own and doing:
sudo lshw -C network, it gave me the same information for the wireless card.

My IBM A30 computer can also be booted into Win XP. In XP, it identifies
the wireless card as: IBM high rate wireless LAN Mini PCI combo card,
Manufacturer - Actiontec Electronics Inc, PCI slot 1, Driver - Actiontec,
9/28/2001, ver. 1.7.25.0, IRQ 11.

Under System - Administration - Network, I can set the IP address for the
wireless card just as I can for the wired card. There, everything seems
normal, but I can't ping my router or outside the LAN using the wireless
connection. The wired connection works, and the wireless card works fine
under Win XP.

I'll be out of town tomorrow. If you like to get more information, I'll be
glad to work on that as soon as I can after getting back again.

Thanks for your help, Dieter Schliemann
