[Bug 67267] [Edgy RC]Installer Crashes

2006-10-20 Thread Diego Sánchez Román
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I think it's a problem with language selection. If a boot LiveCD in
Spanish and install with Ubiquity in Spanish too, the installer crashes
at copying files stage. However, with default US English language
everthing goes OK.

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 67267] Re: [Edgy RC]Installer Crashes

2006-10-21 Thread Diego Sánchez Román
Cannot reproduce the same crash. I'm experimenting random freezes, most
of them at boot. The progress bar freezes and a 20 seconds later cd & hd
become inactive. Same problem if i'm installing and open a gnome menu or
play with other application. I don't know how to give more information
because of the entire system freezes and I can't do anything but reset.

It doesn't seem to be a hardware fault because as mentioned above, I
could install edgy; and both windows and edgy are working fine.

Once I booted from LiveCD without quiet and splash options and the
system freezed saying: "BUG: soft lockup detected on CPU#0!". Maybe it's
what's happening all the time.

Hardware Info:
Amilo PI 1536
Core 2 Duo (Merom) 7200 (2 Ghz)
2 GB RAM
120 GB SATA HD
ATI X1400 512 HyperMemory

[Bug 81444] Core Dumped

2007-01-25 Thread Diego Sánchez Román
Public bug reported:

I can't use Ubuntu for my university practices (networking &
communications). The problem is that i get "Core Dumped" when I execute
the programs. This doesn't happen with Breezy or Dapper, but it does
with Edgy and Feisty. Also, all works fine in other distros such as
Debian or Fedora. I thing it's a problem with the kernel because a
friend told me he had the same problem (core dumped) in a kernel upgrade
(He uses Dapper).

We use a ethernet daemon provided by the teachers. There is no code
available :( . You can download it from
http://www.ii.uam.es/~rc1lab/ethd-4.1.0-bin.tgz

To install it, you have to run the script "instalar" as root.

Now, i'll attach the source of the programs. Compile it with make and
execute ftpserv

This is what you'll see:

$ ./ftpserv
Iniciando librera nivel1. (C) Copyright R. Wegmann, A. Martnez, R. Cabello,
2000-2002. nivel1.o V.4.0.1
Funcin loc_send: No such file or directory
Fallo de segmentación (core dumped)

Thanks.

Pd: Sorry for my poor English.
