changed the status to confirmed. From the FAQ page it seems that the Status
'Incomplete' is incorrect to reopen a bug.
will be attaching apport bug report shortly (just learnt how to do that)

[Bug 1189425] Re: no splash image during boot / start up

2013-06-11 Thread Dhruv
O.k. Maybe not a bug. But I did not install anything different over the
ubuntu-gnome defaults. So, does that mean it has no boot logo and the
default is blue screen only?

2013-05-26 Thread Dhruv
Don't know whether the bug is facebook's side because till last week
with ubuntu/mint/fedora (all 32bit) it was working fine. On 13.04 64 bit
ubuntu-gnome this is causing an error. Please get a permanent fix as
early as possible. :)

[Bug 585710] [NEW] zsh-beta-docs entry in info dir is incorrect

2010-05-25 Thread Dhruv Bansal
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: zsh-beta-doc

I had zsh installed (but not zsh-doc) and I installed zsh-beta and zsh-
beta-doc. I tried to browse the Info manual for ZSH while inside Emacs
but got an error message when I tried to the effect: "zsh.info doesn't
exist".

Looking at the actual Info dir file I saw that the entry for ZSH pointed
at zsh and not zsh-beta, explaining the error and suggesting the fix.

gnome shell is consuming most of my laptop's memory, i.e. ~700 MB / 3.8 GB.
Currently using Ubuntu 17.10 >> Artful Aardvark.

[Bug 1881009] [NEW] Gnome System Settings keep getting uninstalled automatically everytime I boot up the system. It has to be reinstalled by using apt install gnome-control-center.

2020-05-27 Thread Dhruv Nagpal
Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. The system settings package cannot be
found anywhere or called from the command line. Also, the display
scaling (set to 1.25x) gets reset. I need to manually install gnome-
control-center for it to work, but even then the display scaling option
malfunctions, going much more than 2x as if it started at 1.25x as base.
I have no seen issues with the other settings.

[Bug 1875189] [NEW] Screen Flickers when it wakes from suspend/sleep.

2020-04-26 Thread Dhruv Gadhavi
Public bug reported:

I got some laptop having optimus/hybrid GPUs setup : AMD Vega 8 ( Raven
Ridge ) + Nvidia GTX 1650 GPUs and a display having refresh rate of
120Hz.

Whenever I shut the laptop lid or it auto-suspends it catches screen
flickers when it wakes up.

I think it's some kernel issue some deadlock maybe.

I already filed a bug on fedora bugzilla forum for the same aswell.

Here is the link for the same :

I hope it gets' fixed this time :)

[Bug 875543] Re: [Dell Inspiron 2500] Can't eject cd rom : Inappropriate ioctl for device

2015-08-01 Thread Dhruv Upreti
I am facing this issue in Ubuntu 15.04 ( fresh installation on AMD Qaud
Core) as well. I have tried almost all the commands available on google
for this issue but no luck

$ eject /dev/sr0
$ eject -rv $ sudo eject /dev/sr0
$ file /dev/sr0 /dev/sr0: block special (11/0)
$ sudo eject -i off $ eject -i off /dev/cdrom
$ eject -v /dev/sr0 eject: device name is /dev/sr0'
eject: expanded name is/dev/sr0'
eject: /dev/sr0' is not mounted
eject:/dev/sr0' is not a mount point
eject: /dev/sr0' is not a multipartition device
eject: trying to eject/dev/sr0' using CD-ROM eject command
eject: CD-ROM eject command succeeded

Surprsingly they do not give any errors also

I have also confirmed that CD ROM is detected by ubuntu
$ sudo lshw -C disk *-cdrom
description:
DVD-RAM writer product: DVDRAM GH24NSC0 vendor: HL-DT-ST physical id: 0.1.0 bus
info: scsi@1:0.1.0 logical name: /dev/cdrom logical name: /dev/cdrw logical
name: /dev/dvd logical name: /dev/dvdrw logical name: /dev/sr0 version: LK00
capabilities: removable audio cd-r cd-rw dvd dvd-r dvd-ram configuration:

Does any one has anything else for trying ?

[Bug 1071718] Re: john outputs " fopen: john.ini: No such file or directory"

2013-05-10 Thread Dhruv Kar
Using Ubuntu 13.04. Although not a solution, creating a john.ini file in
whichever folder I want to run JTR from, seems to work.

I know "Fix committed" isn't the right status here, but I couldn't find
one that said "Fix discussed and found to be a valid one".

[Bug 793109] Re: VLC Crashes X when playing an FLV file

2011-11-08 Thread Dhruv Matani
The bug is fixed if I change the video output method. Maybe VLC should
just set that as the default, or maybe detect on the fly rather than
just crash.

Also Banshee crashes when playing the FLV file (it actually plays it,
but as soon as I minimize the player or try to bring another application
to focus, it crashes X!!). mp3 files are played properly though both by
vlc as well as banshee.
