[Bug 215915] Re: wireless WPA key corrupted on system restart

2009-01-19 Thread David Risku
I suspect that you did not install Ubuntu 8.10. I just did and the
problem you documented is not present. Recommend that you download a new
copy of Ubuntu 8.10 and reinstall it. Good luck!

2008-12-11 Thread David Risku
Hi Ken
Sorry for the delay in responding. I have recently installed Ubuntu 8.10 and
it is handling my wireless configuration correctly. I do not have a wireless
key corruption problem any longer. Problem solved!

You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you
try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Status in “network-manager” source package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Installed Ubuntu 8.04 (beta). All OK but no wireless. Entered wireless
settings thru System->Administration->Networking using WPA key (16 chars)
and DHCP. Everything OK. Updated system with over 500 updates, wireless
connection all OK. Needed to restart computer. Did so. No wireless
connection. Went to System->Administration->Networking and noticed WPA key
is larger than 16 chars, in fact 64 chars long. Entered the correct key.
Internet all OK. Happens after every restart. Using Edimax 802.11g Wireless
PCI card and LInksys WRT54gl router.
