[Bug 636091] Re: touchpad stops working when wifi connects

2010-09-16 Thread David J. Lennon
Thanks Henrik / Chase - I'll reinstall on the test machine, reproduce
the issue and attach the new Xorg logs - I'll also try and reproduce
with evdev running from clean install to see whether this change affects
the issue.

Chase - I'll also try and reproduce with the new driver (from
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/i386/xserver-xorg-input-
synaptics/1.2.2-2ubuntu4)

[Bug 636091] Re: touchpad stops working when wifi connects

2010-09-16 Thread David J. Lennon
Bit of an odd one - I'm not able to test the new driver at the moment...
If I connect to the internet via ethernet first, i'm unable to reproduce
the bug using the Beta ISO when connecting to Wifi. Seems that having
used some form of internet connection before activating Wifi for the
first time stops the issue.

Is the updated driver present in the latest daily build?

[Bug 640018] Re: empathy throws untrusted certificate warning on google chat services using google apps (non-google domains)

2010-09-15 Thread David J. Lennon

** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/640018/+attachment/1590896/+files/Dependencies.txt

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: empathy

On Ubuntu 10.10, Empathy will throw an 'untrusted certificate, proceed?'
warning during log-on for the Google Chat service when the user is using
  Google Apps and not a standard gmail.com / googlemail.com / google.com
  email address.

As an example, my Google Chat address uses Google Apps (google services
through personally owned domains) and is da...@justsomeboy.com, and
- empathy expects the certificate hostname to match the google domain and
- not justsomeboy.com
+ empathy expects the certificate hostname to match the 'justsomeboy.com'
+ domain and not the google domain.

  The error thrown is:

This connection is untrusted. Would you like to continue anyway?

The identity provided by the chat server cannot be verified. The
hostname verified by the certificate doesn't match the server name.

  Expected hostname: justsomeboy.com
  Certificate hostname: talk.google.com

This is a recent change, earlier Maverick builds didn't throw this
message. As there is no way on the Google Apps service to include
certificates, this trusting check potentially should be disabled for the
  Google Chat service.

[Bug 640018] [NEW] empathy throws untrusted certificate warning on google chat services using google apps (non-google domains)

2010-09-15 Thread David J. Lennon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

On Ubuntu 10.10, Empathy will throw an 'untrusted certificate, proceed?'
warning during log-on for the Google Chat service when the user is using
Google Apps and not a standard gmail.com / googlemail.com / google.com
email address.

As an example, my Google Chat address uses Google Apps (google services

empathy expects the certificate hostname to match the 'justsomeboy.com'
domain and not the google domain.
