[Bug 229976] Re: gnome-panel has major memory leak

2008-11-27 Thread Dave Lee
When I rebooted yesterday (purely to reclaim memory), gnome-panel had about
230MB.
Now, after 20 hours of uptime, it's at 65MB and climbing.

So, it's clearly not fixed. How can I help to sort this?

[Bug 151043] Re: gutsy - freeze after kde-logout with intel915gm

2007-10-11 Thread Dave Lee
Me too. I get the exact same behavior with a Compaq Presario model
c304nr. Intel 915 graphics, intel xorg-driver. Last update was
2007-10-10.

[Bug 151043] Re: gutsy - freeze after kde-logout with intel915gm

2007-10-12 Thread Dave Lee
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 127101 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127101

The behavior for me is very similar. I get the blank screen with
strange characters/markings. I see a similar screen as in the avi in
bug #127101, mine is more black, less characters. I only get this on
logout/shutdown. I can switch video modes to my hearts content with no
problems.

I am not running compiz, so that is not causing the problem. I suppose
the differences can be attributed to differences in hardware.

[Bug 982948] [NEW] Unity misbehaves after installing an application from the Software Centre

2012-04-16 Thread Dave Lee
Public bug reported:

To reproduce this bug:

I press Super and click on the Applications view of the dash
I type in Tux, and then click on "See more results" next to Apps Available to
Download
I choose SuperTux

The Ubuntu Software Centre loads
I click on Install, and the app icon wiggles it's way to the launcher.

Then the main desktop region, and its contents, become persistent [screenshot1]
If I try and Alt-Tab back to this document, it doesn't bring it to the fore,
but there remains an imprint on the desktop of the switcher [screenshot2]
The only way I can log out, as panel menus seem to display _behind_ whatever is
on the screen, is to use the HUD to log out [screenshot3]

Logging out seems to be the only way to resolve this issue.
