[Bug 14044] Re: Fullscreen display split between screens with Xinerama/MergedFB
the reason of this behavior is the lack of appropriate screen modes in xorg.conf - if only dual-head modes are defined, full screen-apps fail to change to an appropriate resolution. also using the "radeon" driver, the following MetaModes in xorg.conf should have the desired effect: Option "MetaModes" "1024x768-1024x768 1024x768 800x600 640x480" this defines one dualhead mode with two times 1024x768, yielding in 2048x768 resolution and three additional modes without any definition for the second screen. during switching to these modes, xorg switches on-the-fly to a clone mode with the requested resolution. starting of full-screen apps (like SDL-games) now automatically triggers switching to a clone mode - no more centering of full screen apps between both monitors. Therefore I don't think that this is a SDL problem but due to a non- optimal xorg configuration (at least not in dapper; could also be that the problem was fixed in the meantime). -- Fullscreen display split between screens with Xinerama/MergedFB https://launchpad.net/bugs/14044 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 37711] Re: Cannot enter anything into real number fields
As mentioned above, only spinboxes with real numers inside reveal this bug, so there could be something wrong with the decimal seperator in spin boxes. QSpinBox does not allow to handle real numbers, therefore scribus has its own implementation 'MSpinBox' in mspinbox.cpp. I assume that something within this function does not like ubuntu's patches in qt-x11-free/libqt-mt. For me, setting LANG to something different than de_DE.UTF-8 solves the problem, but I still hope that the bug will be fixed. -- Cannot enter anything into real number fields https://launchpad.net/bugs/37711 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 47649] Re: Landscape PDF printed as portrait (and truncated)
For some reasons the unsupported KPDF 3.5.7 packages for edgy (http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde-357.php) are build without the controversal poppler patch (which removes kpdf's internal xpdf copy and seems to be the reason for this bug). This means that landscape printing works again with this package (at least for me). And duplex printing (bug 54154) also seems to work. -- Landscape PDF printed as portrait (and truncated) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/47649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 54154] Re: kpdf ignores duplex printing settings and forces duplex
I can confirm this too (KPDF 0.5.5/Ubuntu edgy/HP LJ 2200d): kpdf prints as duplex (longside), regardless of the setting in the printer dialog or the printer driver's default setting (via CUPS). This reminds me on bug 47649 (kpdf always prints as portrait and never as landscape), which also describes a case where kpdf ignores the appropriate print settings -- kpdf ignores duplex printing settings and forces duplex https://launchpad.net/bugs/54154 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64531] Re: apt-index-watcher uses way too much system ressources
simple workaround until updated packages are available: edit /etc/init.d /apt-index-watcher and insert a line just containing "exit 0" after line 1 and apt-index-watcher won't be started any more (at least not until you update the apt-index-watcher package - an updated package would recreate this file) -- apt-index-watcher uses way too much system ressources https://launchpad.net/bugs/64531 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 58049] Re: Kgpg crashes when I sign/verify clipboard
more in detail: kgpg (editor component) crashes every time after entering the pass phrase. Not only during signing and verifying, also during encryption (perhaps every time a mantra has to be typed). But only if the pass phrase was correct, else kgpg asks again. I only observed this behaviour in KDE 3.5.4 packages (4:3.5.4-0ubuntu1~dapper1), and as far as I remember, in previous dapper versions everything worked as expected (relevant gnupg version: 1.4.2.2-1ubuntu2.2). -- Kgpg crashes when I sign/verify clipboard https://launchpad.net/bugs/58049 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 58049] Re: Kgpg crashes when I sign/verify clipboard
also affects upstream: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129267 (for some reasons kdeutils is not a valid product in launchpad and therefore I'm not able to mark this bug as occuring upstream...) -- Kgpg crashes when I sign/verify clipboard https://launchpad.net/bugs/58049 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 44784] Re: kcontrol-autostart removes "Type=Application" from every desktop file in ~/.kde/Autostart
No progress in both dapper and edgy (beta): An autostart entry created with kcontrol-autostart with an up-to-date edgy system (kcontrol- autostart 0.1-0ubuntu3) still raises the following error: "Error - KDesktop: The desktop entry file /home/user/.kde/Autostart/app.desktop has no Type=... entry" The newer upstream releases 0.1b (and 0.2) contain a fix for this bug, according to its ChangeLog: "* 15/12/2005 Fixed stupid bug that rendered the app useless (added the Type entry to the .desktop files". -- kcontrol-autostart removes "Type=Application" from every desktop file in ~/.kde/Autostart https://launchpad.net/bugs/44784 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
