[Bug 200304] Re: [Hardy] network-manager-pptp requires system restart but will not tell you
I believe that the setup of network-manager-pptp has always required a restart of the networking services as described here: http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/howto-ubuntu.phtml That said, I haven't yet been able to get my own vpn connection working so far and my syslog is getting flooded with console kit errors (may be do to a restart of dbus?). It does seem like it would be helpful if the installation for this package automated the restart of the services, or at least indicated that a restart was required (if necessary??) -- [Hardy] network-manager-pptp requires system restart but will not tell you https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200304 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This behaviour has been reported for Hardy also: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-pptp/+bug/200304 -- Created PPTP connection does not appear in VPN connect menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113270 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 180055] Re: (Ubuntu Hardy, Xorg, Firefox) xorg using CPU heavily while visiting blogger.com with Firefox
I can confirm this behaviour on Hardy A6 w/ Ubuntu 2.6.24-12.22-generic and xorg 7.3+10ubuntu7 It doesn't appear to be so much caused by Firefox, rather applications that have animation (Banner and ticker on the Blogger page, as well as the resource page In System Monitor). This behaviour occurs with and without compiz running. -- (Ubuntu Hardy, Xorg, Firefox) xorg using CPU heavily while visiting blogger.com with Firefox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/180055 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 25966] Re: NEW PACKAGE: Printer drivers for Brother needed
I'm on Hardy A6 and I was unable to get my Brother HL-2040 to print test pages. [Bug 95940] Re: No way to reset ALSA state from GUI
This problem normally raises it's head for me when there is some glitch in a stream using AC3 passthrough (DVD's) or when the player crashes during playback. This results in most audio playback ceasing to work *except* for AC3. If the asound.state is stuck configured for AC3 pass through, then it makes sense that non-AC3 sources would fail to work. [Bug 25966] Re: NEW PACKAGE: Printer drivers for Brother needed
Saïvann, that is closer as the test page now prints, however the placement is off by about 2cm from the top of the page. I'm also still getting the following messages in my cups log: E [21/Mar/2008:12:44:44 -0400] [cups-driverd] Unable to open PPD directory "/usr/share/cups/model": No such file or directory E [21/Mar/2008:12:44:44 -0400] [cups-driverd] Unable to open PPD directory "/opt/share/ppd": No such file or directory E [21/Mar/2008:12:45:41 -0400] CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized E [21/Mar/2008:12:45:56 -0400] [Job 12] No %%BoundingBox: comment in header! [Bug 38140] Re: dhclient3 keeps running after ifdown
For anyone experiencing this issue, a work around is to perform kill -1 on dhclient (prevents a new ip from being obtained). I performed a system restart after doing this and dhclient did not start again, and the correct static IP was set. -- dhclient3 keeps running after ifdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/38140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
