[Bug 584733] [NEW] Horizontal tearing in GNOME
Public bug reported: I have two HD5870s in CrossfireX, with the drivers recommended by Ubuntu. I am getting extremely bad tearing in GNOME when I drag something across the screen even when the effects are turned off. I have tried using Compwiz to change the settings but it didn't remove the problem (only made it different). Enabling v-sync in the ATI control panel also has no effect, nor does disabling CrossfireX. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS x64. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ati crossfire crossfirex gnome horizontal lts tearing ubuntu -- Horizontal tearing in GNOME https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584733 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 584733] Re: Horizontal tearing in GNOME
In compiz I have tried changing the settings such as the frequency slider and Sync to vblank but they make no difference. In the effects off I mean in System > Preferences > Appearance. I tried all 3, they all have some degree of tearing with "Extra" being the worst. -- Horizontal tearing in GNOME https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584733 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 440831] Re: RAID creation fails due to absent package "mdadm"
After further investigation, it appears as though this affects the Live CD only. The alternate install works perfectly with RAID array creation even when Ubuntu is installed. It appears as though the Live CD does not officially support software RAID array creation, see: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SoftwareRAID#Requirements Though this is not made apparent to the user when creating the RAID array (gnome-disk-utility is there and it allows you to get as far as configuring the array). -- RAID creation fails due to absent package "mdadm" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/440831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
