[Bug 222428] Re: No sound after suspend to RAM

2008-10-14 Thread Cerebrate
This happens for me too. I have an HDA-Intel soundcard

cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xdc44 irq 22

lspci -v

Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio
Controller (rev 02)
Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device ff01
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 22
Memory at dc44 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities:

I'm running an upgraded 8.04 to Intrepid (kernel version
2.6.27-5-generic). This only started happening once I upgraded to
Intrepid. I have to restart in order for this to fix itself. Affects all
sound programs, haven't tried the pulseaudio reload or alsa reload.

I noticed that there's a single alsa process that goes zombie, which is
a child of wish 8.5, running aMsn. Killing wish 8.5 doesn't fix the
problem, even though the zombie alsa process does get cleaned up

[Bug 222428] Re: No sound after suspend to RAM

2008-10-15 Thread Cerebrate
Not that I can tell. It doesn't happen if I just unplug my power cable,
only after a suspend. Also, pulseaudio dies by itself if I stop alsa
with a reload. Gnome power manager also doesn't use a whole bunch of ram
once pulseaudio does die.

doing this:
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils stop
sudo alsa force-reload
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils start

does fix it, though, as I said, pulseaudio dies by itself afterwards. I
can then just run pulseaudio, and restart an app if it uses sound, and
it works again.

[Bug 209920] Re: LEAP broken for iwl3945 under hhardy

2008-09-23 Thread Cerebrate
I'm using hardy upgraded to Intrepid (via update-manager -d).

Toshiba A135-S4467 Laptop, using iwl3945.

Previously, I also had the same problem, being unable to connect to my
campus' LEAP/Wpa-Enterprise network as soon as I upgraded to hardy.
Upon upgrading to Intrepid, and using kernel 2.6.27-2, along with
NetworkManager 0.7, LEAP and WPA Enterprise now work, as I am able to
connect to the campus' wireless now.

Attempting to use Hardy with an upgraded kernel did not work. I believe
this has something to do with also using NetworkManager 0.7

So yes, this is fixed with Intrepid for me.

[Bug 217653] Re: Wireless connection to WPA Enterprise network fails using Intel iwl3945 driver.

2008-04-21 Thread Cerebrate
I can confirm that this bug is present. My school's wireless network
uses WPA Enterprise, and it worked fine in gutsy. Now, it does not
work, as I just recently upgraded to Hardy RC1.

My wireless card is indeed the intel 3945.

Is there any possible way to revert the driver back to the old
proprietary version?

[Bug 217653] Re: Wireless connection to WPA Enterprise network fails using Intel iwl3945 driver.

2008-05-05 Thread Cerebrate
I still was unable to connect to my school's network. I tried this
after your comment about being able to connect, waleb. Could there be
only partial support for WPA Enterprise?

Sadly, school is over for the summer (not taking summer classes), so I
wouldn't be able to test this anymore.
