[Bug 348332] Re: [RV250] Kubuntu: X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite
This is definitely not a Kubuntu/Kwin/Composite-only bug. On Gnome (with Composite/Compiz disabled), this bug occurs the same (unless DRI is also disabled). With PPA kernel 2.6.29-02062904-generic (and DRI re-enabled), this bug SEEMS SOLVED (after 10 min. GoogleEarthing) With Ubuntu (9.10?) kernel 2.6.30-8-generic (and DRI re-enabled), this bug STILL OCCURS (after 10 sec. [Bug 394885] [NEW] WISH: allow to specify VEs boot order for /etc/init.d/vz
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vzctl Hello, When (re-)starting the host, the OpenVZ startup script (/etc/init.d/vz) starts VEs tagged "ONBOOT" in the order corresponding to their VE number. In some cases, it may desirable to alter the boot order, for dependencies reasons. An optional "BOOT" file in the VEs configuration directory (/etc/vz/conf) could fit this requirement. Applies to: - vzctl 3.0.22-5ubuntu1.1 (Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS) - vzctl 3.0.22-14ubuntu2 (Jaunty Jackalope 9.04) Hope this could be of help to others. [Bug 394885] Re: WISH: allow to specify VEs boot order for /etc/init.d/vz
Hello Daniel, I think you're right... follows a revised patch which does not brake the expected behavior of the "ONBOOT" parameter. Human-friendly put: - first use the (valid/ONBOOT) VEIDs in the BOOT_ORDER file - then add the ONBOOT VEIDs that do not appear in the BOOT_ORDER file I will also propose the patch upstream and see what gives. [Bug 348332] Re: [RV250][JAUNTY] X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite
I confirm this bug on ATI X600 Mobility (M24 chipset). Disabling composite (Option "Composite" "Disable") does NOT solve the problem. Switching to XAA acceleration (Option "AccelMethod" "XAA") does NOT solve the problem. Disabling DRI (Option "DRI" "off") DOES (seem; no freeze in ~150 minutes) to solve the problem. > uname -a Linux nb-cdufour 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux > lspci | fgrep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M24 1P [Radeon Mobility X600] A little OT, but this bug does NOT (seem; during my 10 minutes Nexuiz and 20 minutes X-Plane testing) to occur on my nVidia-based workstation (nVidia 180.44 driver). -- [RV250][JAUNTY] X Freezes with Radeon driver EXA/XAA Composite https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348332 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
