[Bug 1003950] Re: launcher does not show minimized update manager while clicked

2013-12-28 Thread Burko
I still have this Bug in 13.10 with stock Unity. Even if I pin the app
to the sidebar, I cannot open it. Updates per Kontexmenu are possible,
though.

developer for this I don't see how you can change the problem apart from
reporting information like everybody else

Sorry, I don't want to sound rude. I would really apprechiate if you are
really able to change the situation and I am just curious if you are.
Also, I am a disillusioned concerning the probability that canonical
will finally do something a.bout it. I rather expect it to be fixed once
the new unity gets rolled out (along with other improvements) And that
semms to take until 2016 :(

its funny that you noticed, because I filled a bug report about that
right about 10 min ago. See here:

It would be nice if you could add your experiences to it.

[Bug 1311316] Re: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock

2015-02-17 Thread Burko
I updated my machine recently to the current Unity 7.2.4 and this
solved this issue for some time.

BUT: Now I am experiencing it again, exactly 50 % ( that is actually 25 % of
time, see below) of times I log into my maschine. My case if different, though.
When my Laptop wakes up from sleep I always have to log in two times each time.
Meaning I enter my passphrase, the screen unlocks, I see my screen 1-2 seconds,
the screen starts flickering and then it locks again, this time without the
input field. I then close my lid so that the machine hibernates again. I wake
it up again, and have again to unlock the machine two times. This time I have
in both cases an input field.
So, you could say I have to log in four times every time I want to use my
machine. This is always reproducable, btw.

I did not reboot the machine so far, meaning it is up for some days now,
where in the beginning it had it prefectly working with just one needed
attempt to unlock the machine.

I attach the Auth.log entry from the last login, which seems a bit weird...

[Bug 1311316] Re: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock

2015-02-17 Thread Burko
I am afraid I don't know what you mean. I try to explain it a bit more:
It was a login after a suspend, meaning a unlock-lock.
I was already logged in and hibernated the machine. Then I waked it up again,
so in that way it was a lock-unlock. But just considering the unlock procedure
it was an "unlock-lock-hibernate-wakeup-unlock-lock-unlock"-Procedure.

And I do that every. freaking. time. I want to use my machine.

no problems in whatsoever. It even "fixed" two other bugs related to
login here.

Thanks again!

Push.

Is there nobody interested in solving the issue?

I mean, a fresh installation would probably solve the problem. However,
this is more of a workaround than of a fix.

[Bug 1393846] Re: Screen Lock shows wrong wallpaper

2014-12-23 Thread Burko
Hey there,
I wanted to spend some time on this bug again. I think I can also add some more
information here.

I am now under the impression that the wallpaper stays the way I want it to
be, as far as unity-greeter is concerned.
However(!!), my screen seems to suffer from something like a double lock of the
screen, meaning after some seconds the xfce-greeter kicks in and locks the
screen again(I assume that because I see the xubuntu background again and the
screen lock looks a bit different) That probably leads to this unusual bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-greeter/+bug/1393843

I know that my expression of the things going on on my machine might be
inaccurate. But I hope everyone gets at least the idea of what I mean.

[Bug 1393843] [NEW] Log in prompt appears twice or three times after suspend

2014-11-18 Thread Burko
Public bug reported:

Hi,

since my update to 14.04.1 LTS I experience difficulties with unlocking
my screen after waking up my maschine. After logging the desktio is
shown only for a short moment, following another screen lock. I have to
unlock the screen again then. This happens after every suspend,
sometimes even three times.

I am happy to provide additional data.

Hi,

after locking my screen the login screen displays the standard XFCE-

This is only one bug of a series of bugs concerning the screen lock.

[Bug 1393846] Re: Screen Lock shows wrong wallpaper

2014-11-18 Thread Burko
I still have it installed, that it I never uninstalled it. But I did
not expect the background to change since it didn't change before. This
is new since the update, and therefore I consider it a bug.

Uninstalling XFCE would probably be a workaround, however I want to keep
the desktop. But I do not want it to interfer with the rest of the
machine while not being used.

2014-11-20 Thread Burko
In lightdm.conf.d I found this file. I assume the file in this directory
represents the selected greeter?

[Bug 1393846] Re: Screen Lock shows wrong wallpaper

2014-11-20 Thread Burko
I removed this line but it gets rewritten again after my next login.

I also have to log in twice each time and locking the screen via super-l
leaves me with a locked and black (my background color) screen without a
password prompt..

[Bug 1003950] Re: launcher does not show minimized update manager while clicked

2014-11-13 Thread Burko
I also still experience this Bug in 14.04. It is interesting how
canonical cares about such a severe issue - meaning that they leave it
as it does even occur in a LTS release. I wonder why it is not
"confirmed" by now for trusty.

And there a reports for it in utopic und some duplicates around. So
whats the problem?
