[Bug 1309320] [NEW] Generating expense pie chart causes crash
Public bug reported: I just updated to Trusty. After the update I ran gnucash which crashed when trying to open an sqlite3 account file that had an expense pie chart open. [Bug 990740] Re: upgrading from lucid to precise fails
It's too soon to close this bug. The original issue: "E: could not perform immediate configuration on python-minimal" happened to me yesterday (2 Sept 2012) in the context of manual recovery of a failed upgrade from lucid to precise. (My original post-point-release effort to upgrade was launched on 27 Aug with update manager.) "python-minimal" for lucid depends on "python2.7-minimal", and " python2.7-minimal depends on python-minimal (>=2.6.6-3+squeeze1); however: Version of python-minimal on system is 2.6.5-0ubuntu1." I've checked a fully updated lucid where no attempt at upgrade had been made to verify that its python-minimal is 2.6.5-0ubuntu1. Anyway, what is this dependency on "squeeze" (a version of Debian?)? It seems that something is wrong with the metadata for python2.7-minimal. Given this dependency and that an updated lucid with python2.6 has python-minimal 2.6.5-0ubuntu1, how can the upgrade from lucid to precise be expected to work? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990740 Title: upgrading from lucid to precise fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-defaults/+bug/990740/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1045926] [NEW] python-minimal dependency blocks LTS upgrade from lucid to precise
Public bug reported: python-minimal is an essential package. In "precise" python-minimal is version 2.7.3, which has dependencies: python2.7-minimal (>= 2.7.3), dpkg (>= 1.13.20). The package python2.7-minimal in "precise" is version 2.7.3 (and it also appears in precise-updates). python2.7-minimal has dependencies: libc6 (>= 2.15), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libssl1.0.0 (>= 1.0.0), zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.0), python-minimal (>= 2.6.6-3+squeeze1). [Bug 1045926] Re: python-minimal dependency blocks LTS upgrade from lucid to precise
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 990740 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990740 While this is in some unclear way related to bug #990740, it is certainly NOT A DUPLICATE. The incorrect dependency issue for python- minimal is still present (at least on my currently updated version of precise). From "aptitude show python2.7-minimal": Depends: libc6 (>= 2.15), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libssl1.0.0 (>= 1.0.0), zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.0), python-minimal (>= 2.6.6-3+squeeze1) In an updated lucid system I'm still running, the version of python-minimal is 2.6.5-0ubuntu1. I believe that with very high probability an attempt to upgrade it to precise using update-manager will fail unless this dependency issue is addressed. At the time I reported this bug (2012-09-04) there was no version 2.6.6-3+squeeze1 to be found in ubuntu archives. In fact, isn't "squeeze" a debian name? How did update-manager manage to import a package with such a dependency? If there's a reason the dependency in python2.7-minimal must require version >=2.6.6-3, then some such version still needs to be put out for lucid's python-minimal.
