[Bug 174302] Re: package gimp-plugin-registry because a plugin is also in package gimp-lqr-plugin
Sorry xuxieyu, but this does not help. The plan is not to install a package, but to remove it. I'm kinda sure that the gimp-lqr-plugin is from the plugin upstream's page. [Bug 388917] Re: gpsd depends on blacklisted garmin_gsm module
The garmin_gps module should provide the necessary tty to talk to the garmin gps. The garmin_gps module is loaded by udev, there is nothing gpsd can do against that. I'm not sure if some standard usb-serial converter module works with garmin gpsr - but thats still nothing that could be changed in gpsd. The udev rules from gpsd only look at the hardware informations from the usb device - and they're not affected by the module which takes care of it. The problem is that gpsd won't work without the garmin_gps module, on the other side other packages should work with the module... so in fact we have three bugs here: - garmin_gps is blacklisted (could you file an appropriate bug against the package which provides the blacklist?) - garmin_gps should work as a usual usb<>serial adapter. - gpsd needs to stop messing with /proc/bus/usb - http://developer.berlios.de/bugs/?func=detailbug&bug_id=13467&group_id=2116 -- gpsd depends on blacklisted garmin_gps module https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388917 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Otherwise they should just take the versions from Debian. > Anyway, 'nuff on finding blame, how best to fix? (I'm new to this). [Bug 411920] [NEW] extra package braindead - functionality should be included in apt-key
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: add-apt-key Where is the sense in having an extra add-apt-key package? [Bug 138043] Re: [sync request] mod-wsgi from Debian sid main
The package was rebuilt and used in production systems according to the mod_wsgi list. The short rationale is that this module will become the standard for hosting wsgi applications, and it is proven to handle very high loads well, so people will start to ask you why this module s not in Ubuntu sooner or later. Ubuntu wants to be enterprisy and is more or less commercial, so it is completely your job an decision to ship mod-wsgi or now. I don't care enough about Ubuntu to invest more time here. Re: [Bug 508013] Re: Sync gpsd 2.90.1~svn6819-1 (universe) from Debian testing (main)
The best way would be to wait for gpsd 2.91 as the svn version is a bit buggy at some points. But if it makes to many issues I can coordinate a sync of the svn version to ubuntu. 2.91 was supposed to be out since some weeks but the developers didn't have the time to finish it unfortunately. Re: [Bug 555673] Re: xgps crashed with IndexError in set_satlist_field()
Hi Matthias, > killall -TERM gpsd > rfcomm release /dev/rfcomm0 > hcitool scan > rfcomm bind /dev/rfcomm0 00:1C:88:00:8E:7E > rfcomm > unset LANG > gpsd /dev/rfcomm0 does gpsd work well with other tools at that point, like cgps? My guess is - not. If so, please give gpsd -b /dev/rfcomm0 a try and see if xgps and the other tools work well again. Often the reason for such issues is that gpsd tries to change settings in the gps chipset, but buggy bluetooth devices just shoot themselves into the head. In any case please run gpscat on your device as soon as it is available via /dev/rfcomm0, probably by replacing gpsd by gpscat in your script above, even better when that happens asap after powering on the receiver. Then send your sample via the web form at https://www.mainframe.cx/cgi-bin/gps_report.cgi - make sure you fill out all the fields. Please let me know when you've done so. With the data it might be possible to reproduce the issue.
