[Bug 417757] Re: [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups

2010-02-18 Thread Ashkan_Akhavein
Hello everyone,

a rather basic question:

How can I update (or install the new) eglibc package?

I don't want to use the update manager since I haven't installed
any updates after the fresh installation of Karmic(I use Karmic on an USB drive)
and updating ruins my system(it just won't boot after updating. I asked
a question about this update problem elsewhere in Launchpad :
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yelp/+question/99635 )

Maybe I can use Synaptic or use a command from terminal
or download something directly from the net and install it?

Thank you for your help.

>>> @Turion

Thank you Tourion. I Installed the new eglibc package ( libc6
2.10.1-0ubuntu16).

I don't think it has fully resolved the problem.(but sure my browsing gets less
delays now)
I still have the delay problem with some websites(even the with the google.com
!).
Well, I certainly do not want to "add more noise" to this discussion.

Thank you all again.

P.S. I really hope that the Lucid Lynx will be released with no such bug.

@ anyone concerned/responsible/capable :

PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS GET INTO THE FINAL RELEASE OF LUCID.

Thank you very much.

P.S. I think "karma" have dealt the "Koala" a losing hand.
Hope something better for the "Lynx".

[Bug 596442] [NEW] Brasero's "Search files using keywords" doesn't work.

2010-06-19 Thread Ashkan_Akhavein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

Bug in Brasero ver. 2.30.1 in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx:

When you try to add files to a project, there is a drop-down menu in the
side-panel where you can choose either to
"Browse the file system", which works properly, or "Search files using
keywords", which does not work:
When you select the "Search files using keywords" option, ALL the
fields/buttons/options in the side-panel remain inactive.

[Bug 601528] [NEW] Brasero's "Disc Copy" feature does not work.

2010-07-03 Thread Ashkan_Akhavein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

With Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx and Brasero Disc Burner version 2.30.2 :

When you choose either the "Disc Copy : create 1:1 copy of a CD/DVD"
from the "Create New Project" main menu of Brasero, or the "Copy
Disc..." option from the right-click menu of the mounted disc icon on
desktop, the "Copy CD/DVD" window of Brasero opens, and when you choose
the "New disc in the burner holding the source disc" option of the
"Select a disc to write to" drop-down menu of this window and you hit
the "Copy" button, Brasero tries to write data on the source disc
(screenshot 1 attached), and then comes up with the error: "Error while
burning. An internal error occurred" (screenshot 2 attached).

The Brasero session log file is also attached.

Thank you.
