[Bug 795239] Re: eject: unable to find or open device for: `cdrom' - but my cd is /dev/cdrom1
Hey guys, I am new to bug fixing and would need help on the whole process. I am really interested in contributing to ubuntu by fixing bugs. Have gone through ubuntu wiki but would still like to know from an experienced developer about how everything works here. It seems this bug has been abandoned. Last comment was made about 7 months ago. Is there specific reason why has it been left out. So If I want to fix the bug should I just start working by getting the source code and changing "Assigned to" to myself? It still affects me on ubuntu 13.04. I have '/dev/cdrom5' and '/dev/cdrom6' while having only one physical cd drive. Here is the result of lshw -C disk *-cdrom description: DVD-RAM writer product: DVD+-RW AD-7640S vendor: Optiarc physical id: 0.0.0 bus info: scsi@1:0.0.0 logical name: /dev/cdrom6 logical name: /dev/cdrw6 logical name: /dev/dvd6 logical name: /dev/dvdrw6 logical name: /dev/sr0 version: HD18 capabilities: removable audio cd-r cd-rw dvd dvd-r dvd-ram configuration: ansiversion=5 status=open *-cdrom description: SCSI CD-ROM physical id: 0 bus info: scsi@6:0.0.0 logical name: /dev/cdrom5 logical name: /dev/sr1 capabilities: audio configuration: status=ready I have created a SCSI CD-ROM in windows using daemon tool. Can it be that the second one is showing that? ** Changed in: eject (Ubuntu) Assignee: Raseel (raseel) => Ankit Sinha (ankitbko) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/795239 Title: eject: unable to find or open device for: `cdrom' - but my cd is /dev/cdrom1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eject/+bug/795239/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
