[Bug 281571] Re: Spanish translation packs are not compatible with Firefox 3.0.3

2008-10-17 Thread Alfredo Matas
Ugly workaround:

Edit as root the following file:
/usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/install.rdf  (replaces
es-ES to your Locale)

Change the line: 3.0 to
4.0

That all!

Here you have a screenshot of my "Places" menu (In spanish is

"Escritorio"). The distro is up to date (30-Sep-07) and the user has a
clean $HOME, no .* files are in it.

It still happends in with spanish env on gutsy. If you try to write the

[Bug 78684] Re: AGP not detected on Intel 8285P and E7205 chipsets using kernels higher than 2.6.17

2007-03-31 Thread Alfredo Matas
I've just boot my machine with an edgy live cd and I could see that
everything that depends on the intel chipset is loaded correctly:

edgy (2.6.17):

lsmod | grep -i intel:

snd_intel8x0   34844  1
snd_ac97_codec 97696  2 snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0
snd_pcm84612  4
snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm_oss,snd_ac97_codec
snd58372  16
snd_emux_synth,snd_seq_virmidi,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi,snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm_oss,snd_ac97_codec,snd_seq_device,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_hwdep,snd_timer
intel_agp  26012  1
agpgart34888  2 drm,intel_agp

feisty (2.6.20):

lsmod | grep -i intel
snd_intel8x0   34204  0
snd_ac97_codec 98336  2 snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0
snd_pcm79876  4
snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss
snd54020  16
snd_emux_synth,snd_seq_virmidi,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_hwdep,snd_timer
snd_page_alloc 10888  3 snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm
intel_agp  25116  0
agpgart35400  2 drm,intel_agp

As you can see, in the feisty lsmod, snd_intel8x0 hasn't detected my chipset
i875P, neither the intel_agp. I usually use an emu10k1 sound card, because of
that i couldn't see this before.
I think that this bug is near the kernel chipset detection, instead the agpgart
module or radeon module.

[Bug 78684] Re: AGP not detected on Intel 8285P and E7205 chipsets using kernels higher than 2.6.17

2007-04-05 Thread Alfredo Matas
I compiled the kernel with pci debug option and, when I rebooted the
computer i got this lines in dmesg:

[   22.726080] EDAC i82875p: i82875p init one
[   22.726151] PCI: Found :00:06.0 [8086/257e] 000880 00

[ 22.726214] PCI: Unable to reserve mem region #1:[EMAIL PROTECTED] for
device :00:06.0

I'm not a kernel hacker but I think that EDAC doesn't work fine with
some chipsets... and it may cause that some modules fails when they
loads.

[Bug 84506] radeon in feisty: black screen at start gdm

2007-02-11 Thread Alfredo Matas
Public bug reported:

I get a black screen when gdm starts in ubuntu feisty updated at the day
11/Feb/2007 but if I boot the system in single user mode gdm starts
fine. The system doesn't lock up because I can log in using ssh. I'm
using radeon driver (OSS driver) but it seems that the kernel doesn't
load drm and radeon module. If I load the radeon module by hand gdm
doesn't start too.

I've updated from edgy.

[Bug 1970884] Re: Firefox snap does not use wayland backend by default

2022-05-05 Thread Alfredo Matas
I can confirm that using the version 100 (available in the candidate
channel of snap at the time of writing this comment) the wayland backend
works again.

Looking forward to have this version in the stable channel of snap :)

[Bug 1970884] [NEW] Firefox does not support wayland backend

2022-04-29 Thread Alfredo Matas
Public bug reported:

Previous versions of Firefox worked with the wayland backend, with the
latest version ( 99.0.1 ) wayland is not available and it has to use
xwayland. This breaks the screen sharing and also the fonts are not as
sharp as using the wayland backend.

Nightly version 101.0a1 without snap works fine.

```
Gtk-Message: 09:20:51.884: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: 09:20:51.885: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
[GFX1-]: glxtest: Could not connect to wayland socket
```

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
