[Bug 404164] [NEW] Synaptic don't use system proxy settings

2009-07-24 Thread Alex Ivasyuv
Public bug reported:

$ uname -srmo
Linux 2.6.31-3-generic-pae i686 GNU/Linux
$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:9.10
Codename:   karmic
$

My laptop connected to Internet, but it have no direct access to Internet,
instead it use proxy.
Proxy setting (server name, port, username/password) defined in "Network Proxy"
(System -> Preferences -> Network Proxy).

Updating my system via update manager have no problem, but I can't
install package via Synaptic, as it not use system proxy settings,
instead it have its own tab to define it.

1. I can't define there proxy credentials, as it suspend, see #112397
2. Why synaptic use its own proxy setting instead of global system proxy
settings?

[Bug 492883] [NEW] Brother HL-2170W [PCL XL error]

2009-12-05 Thread Alex Ivasyuv
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

I can't print any file via my printer "Brother HL-2170W", instead I got
a paper with the follow context:

PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error:  MissingData
Operator:ReadImage
Position:  12

Sometimes, error message can change, but error still present.
Printer was automatically configured, and appropriate driver was auto selected.

This issue only appear in Ubuntu 9.10, in Ubuntu 9.04 it worked good.
Switching driver (in CUPS) to HL-2140 it works good now (but with quality
regression).

Seems CUPS regression.

2009-12-05 Thread Alex Ivasyuv
Hi,

confirm this issue. It should be interpret as wishlist.

@bbartlomiej: You can synchronize you Tomboy notes manually,
"Application" -> "Accessories" -> "Tomboy Notes" -> "Tools" ->
"Synchronize Notes".

Please take a look at the attached screenshot.

It'll be good idea to add this option also to applet (looks like only
this item is missing).

[Bug 484390] Re: Ubuntu One don't synchronize Tomboy notes

2009-11-17 Thread Alex Ivasyuv
Hi Joshua,

it was my fault. Yes I connected Tomboy with Ubuntu One, but I had use
"Tomboy Notes" gnome applet. And as it turned out, this applet hasn't
synchronize option (synchronizing can be configured, but there's no way
to synchronize on demand or automatically). This feature can be only
accessible via Tomboy Notes application.

This issue can be resolved as Invalid, or extended as wishlist to add
synchronize option to "Tomboy Notes" at gnome applet.

Thanks for your time Joshua,
