The following settings are already in about:config

2007-12-11 Thread Alex Cuervo
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 174809 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174809

I would not call this a duplicate of bug #174809.
Bug #174809 is a memory leak that happens slowly over time.

This bug is an all-of-the-sudden spike that uses massive amounts of
memory for no aparent reason. It happens almost instantly and not
overtime as the bug #174809

[Bug 570151] Re: mouse stuck between screens with xinerama

2010-04-30 Thread Alex Cuervo
Same bug here.

I have 3 Monitors on an Nvidia NVS 450 video card. The three worked perfect in

Just upgraded to 10.04 and mouse pointer gets stuck (flickering) between
monitors becoming unusable.
Xorg CPU usage skyrockets and I have to kill it.

2010-04-30 Thread Alex Cuervo
Seems to be an issue with the "leftOf" directive in xorg.conf and
Xinerama

A temp workaround is to use only "RightOf" directives

I just redid my xorg.conf with only "RightOf" directives, re-arranged my
monitors physically to match that of the new xorg.conf and it is

working fine

[Bug 570151] Re: mouse stuck between screens with xinerama

2010-05-01 Thread Alex Cuervo
The TEMP workaround also requires the 'screens' to be in order.

INCORRECT:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Layout0"
Screen 2 "Screen2" 0 0
Screen 1 "Screen1" RightOf "Screen2"
Screen 0 "Screen0" RightOf "Screen1"
InputDevice"Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
InputDevice"Mouse0" "CorePointer"
Option "Xinerama" "1"
EndSection

CORRECT:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Layout0"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
Screen 1 "Screen1" RightOf "Screen0"
Screen 2 "Screen2" RightOf "Screen1"
InputDevice"Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
InputDevice"Mouse0" "CorePointer"
Option "Xinerama" "1"
EndSection

This is not optimal nor final solution, just a temp workarround.

2010-07-01 Thread Alex Cuervo
Mackenzie:
I was having all the symtoms in this bug and they may have been corrected by
your patches. Thanks

I should correct my self:
When I said it crashed I really meant it became unresponsive, CPU usage by xorg
became extremely high, and eventually had to be killed to regain control of the
machine.

What I may be experiencing is:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/570151
which I thought was realted to this one due to the similarities.

Perhaps if this one has been assigned and a fix released, you and/or other
experts in xserver could take a look at Bug #570151 that has been confirmed but
not assigned.
Thanks for all your work.

[Bug 563100] Re: Mouse movement corrupted with Xinerama enabled

2010-06-28 Thread Alex Cuervo
Everything was going well after the xorg-server - 2:1.7.6-2ubuntu7.2
update

Had been crash-less for a while, but then it happened again. once
yesterday and again 5 minutes ago :(

Exact same behavior, mouse jumps back and forth between screens, xorg
CPU usage skyrockets and the only way is to kill it.

Before the patches it would occur randomly just by moving the mouse between
monitors.
Now it still random, but I noticed that in both my crashes it happened while
clicking the mouse (without releasing the button) near the boundaries between
the screens.

[Bug 603136] [NEW] xserver high cpu usage / frozen after being idle

2010-07-08 Thread Alex Cuervo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Fresh install of ubuntu 10.04 bit with all updates
Using Nvidia latest driver 256.35.
Also happens with nvidia's 195.36, 190.53, 190.42, 185.18, and 180.60.

Computer is working ok, I step away for a while, and when I come back, there is
only a black screen.
Computer is unresponsive to mouse and keyboard.
However I can login remotely via ssh, using the command top, I can see that CPU
usage of Xorg is 100%.
The only way to get back control of the machine is to kill xorg.
Screen saver is set to "Blank Screen"

[Bug 570151] Re: mouse stuck between screens with xinerama

2010-08-24 Thread Alex Cuervo
@Daniel, on the video it was between screen two and three, but it also
happens to me between the first and the second.

I can also move the mouse vertically, but everything else is dead not
even Ctrl-Alt-Backspace works.

Hopefully this bug can gather enough people for some expert to look into
it.

I have been with linux since 6.10, and extremely happy with it. Then, I did not
have multiple monitors, I added my second monitor at around 8.04 and everything
worked beautifully with twinview.
Since 9.04 I added my third monitor and had to switch from twinview to
Xinerama, everything worked perfect until 9.10.
Now in 10.04 this bug has hampered my productivity a lot. Going back to fewer
monitors is not an option, once you go double or triple, is impossible to go
back.
I wish multiple monitor support (3+) gets a lot of attention soon. I cant
believe, linux, being the workstation grade OS it is, has such a wimpy
multi-monitor support. We can't possibly be the only ones needing 3+ monitors
support.

Unfortunately it auto updated to the one on the main repos.

How can I force it to install yours?
