[Bug 289617] Re: Intrepid, system will be rebooted after trying to switch user

2008-11-12 Thread Aleksi Ikäheimo
Hi,

Is this issue going to be noticed? I have still same problems.

If i log on with user1 and lock screen. Then select "switch user" and
log on with user2. Then i lock user2 screen and select "switch user",
after that computer reboots by itself. Sometimes i can switch user
couple times more than two times, but that does not happen so often.

[Bug 23885] Re: system will be rebooted after trying to switch user

2008-10-26 Thread Aleksi Ikäheimo
Hi,

Im running latest build of AMD64 Ubuntu 8.10

If i log on to Ubuntu with first user and then lock my computer with
ctrl+alt+l and press "Switch user" button and change user to second
user. Then i lock second user screen with ctrl+alt+l and press "Switch
user" button, display says "out of sync" and computer reboots.

This is very serious bug for me, because this computer is used over 5
people with their own accounts.

[Bug 289569] [NEW] With rt kernel Gnome wont start

2008-10-26 Thread Aleksi Ikäheimo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-3-rt

Hi,

I have latest Ubuntu 8.10 AMD64 installation.
If i use generic kernel computer starts and shuts normally.
If i use rt kernel 2.6.27-3-rt i can use computer only in safe graphics mode.
Also computer wont shut down properly. Gnome logs me out but system "hangs" on
some sort acpid message in virtual console.

I have Intel X4500HD display adapter and i had similar problems before
with generic kernel. After latest update to intel driver (xserver-xord-
video-intel) Gnome started to work properly with generic kernel.

2008-10-03 Thread Aleksi Ikäheimo
Hi,

Same problem here. Im running Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 6 with updates installed
and after booting gdm starts fine, but when i log in system freezes. I
tried removing compiz-packages and after that hard locks does not happen
but X is trying to restart itself again and again, after that screen is
corrupted and fuzzy.

Vesa driver works fine with 1024x768 resolution (i have 1680x1050 22"
widescreen display)

Motherboard is Intel DG45ID with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator
X4500HD onboard graphics card.

2008-10-03 Thread Aleksi Ikäheimo
Hi,

I forgot to mention that im running 64-bit installation.

And i figured out that adding Option "AccelMethod" "XAA" below device
section in xorg.conf allows me to use computer normally, but i think
that display adapter perfomance is reduced.

2008-10-04 Thread Aleksi Ikäheimo
Hi!

I needed to add more options to xorg.conf file, because different programs
(hydrogen, jack, firefox) started to crash and create hard locks.
Option "NoAccel" "yes"
Option "DRI" "no"

Everything seems to be ok for now.. but i really need 3D cabablities
sooner..
