[Bug 382703] Re: "Home Folder" has 3 different names
Given no other bookmarks under Places have 'folder' appended to them, why should 'home' ? If I'm articulating to someone how to find their "home folder" or answer the question "Where's my stuff?", then saying "Click places, then home" sounds logical and succinct. By clicking 'Places' I'm saying I want to 'go to a place', and that 'place' might well be home. Makes sense in my head anyway. :) If we _did_ add 'folder' to home then by extension surely all the bookmarks under Places should also get the added suffix. That would bloat the places menu width-wise and look very messy. -- "Home Folder" has 3 different names https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/382703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 388878] [NEW] Network connections dialog unclear what 'never' means
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager New user installs Ubuntu, then attempts to connect to their wireless access point (for example 'BT-HomeHub'). If they click the 'Wireless' tab they will see the following:- Auto BT-HomeHub never Note the word "never". A new user has no idea what 'never' means because there is no column heading, and there is no other connections (this being the first) giving any clue that 'never' means 'you have never connected (in the past)'. [Bug 391563] [NEW] Xorg crashed after enabling compiz
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Updated to latest xorg intel video driver, tried to enable compiz. I noted the appearance window appeared to get a drop shadow, as if it _had_ enabled compiz. Then got the message that it could not enable it, and the appearance window seemed to hang up. It's _unfinished_ and buggy (I have reported a couple of bugs to help in that regard), but I like the concept and look forward to it being finished and polished. I realise this is just a bug report, and as such we should be focusing on _bugs_ not necessarily opinionated rants. [Bug 334863] [NEW] [jaunty] notification are partially off-screen on res change
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: notify-osd If I change the resolution of my panel, subsequent notifications are off the screen. For example, my laptop panel is 1400x1050 and notifications appear at the top left, on screen (although partially covering the panel - covered by bug 330294). If I change my screen resolution (perhaps I'm using an external display - or maybe for any other reason [in my case using a lower resolution for screencasting]) the notification dialog goes off the screen. [Bug 234915] Re: "OpenGL rendered transitions" extension crashes Impress
Still crashing here. Ubuntu 8.10 x86, OpenOffice.org 2.4 (standard in 8.10 repo as of today). Intel 945GM graphics with compiz on or off, same effect. To reproduce:- Install package openoffice.org-ogltrans Open OpenOffice.org Impress Create new presentation of any kind On the right side, choose slide transitions Scroll down to the very bottom and select a slide transition such as "rochade, static or fine dissolve, any of those right at the bottom". OO.o crashes. Had others reproduce under VirtualBox and on a machine with an ATI card/driver, so not likely to be an intel driver issue. I'm pretty sure I also hit this with the AMD64 version of Ubuntu before I reinstalled on the same hardware as x86. ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released => New -- "OpenGL rendered transitions" extension crashes Impress https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/234915 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
