[Bug 741131] [NEW] No Audio on Asus A3Ac laptop. Ubuntu 10.10.
Public bug reported: Hi I have tried installing everything I could find to get audio going on my laptop. At first, I had sound only from the on-board speakers, but no audio from the S/PDIF / headphone combo jack output. I tried fixing that with all kinds of scripts installing various ALSA drivers and whatnots (I'm not very fluent in Linux, so I tried the Software Centre also) and have just given up when no sound, not even on my onboard speakers, would work. I'm almost on the point of throwing the thing out a window, because trying to get the thing running in Windows is even worse (that's how much I felt like giving up!!!) If someone out there could help me, I will really appreciate it. I don't really understand what I'm doing when following text-based commands like modprobe and all that, but so far nothing worked, so I don't think it was worth remembering just yet. Hope someone can help. Re: [Bug 611027] Re: no headphone sound asus a3a laptop
Hi I've given Launchpad "change anything" privileges, but it seems not to recognize that, and gives me an Error 500 message: Internal Server Error, You have to allow 'change anything' privileges. [Bug 611027] Re: no headphone sound asus a3a laptop
This problem also occured with a 10.04 release, run from CD. I did not fully install yet, because the moment my Ubuntu works, I'll wipe 'that other OS' from my laptop and start afresh with an Ubuntu only laptop. Re: [Bug 611027] Re: no headphone sound asus a3a laptop
Hi David The latest release CD I could find was 10.04, same problem there. Do you want me to run apport-collect from that system also?
