[Bug 298017] Re: "save as" should provide current name and file extension
The bug I ran into in EOG's 'Save As' dialog was very similar to this one. I tried to save an image opened from a web page viewed in epiphany with the only available option 'Save As' . The file I viewed was called fj54oyj45.tmp, trying to save it to a name without file extension proved impossible. To avoid advertently converting the image to another filetype I had to go back and figure out what it was before saving it again. Eye of Gnome is too focused on file extensions (e.g. .png, .svg, .jpg) rather than mime-type hence this problem occurs both when saving files as when opening them. Theres a bug about that too: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/172416 That turned out to be a known bug in Eye of Gnome and the link to the EOG bug was provided: bug-comment: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/172416/comments/2 eog bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=490067 -- "save as" should provide current name and file extension https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298017 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 459005] Re: Can not log into openbox from GDM in Karmic Beta/RC
By writing exec openbox-session in ~/.xinitrc, stopping gdm and manually starting Xorg with startx .gnome-settings-daemon seems to work fine when started this way, and no system files need to be changed. In terms of practicality I guess it's also quite a bad method of logging in -- Can not log into openbox from GDM in Karmic Beta/RC https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/459005 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 446679] [NEW] Release Notes can't be opened when Firefox is already running.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity If firefox is launched before ubiquity, clicking the 'Release Notes' link gives a 'Firefox is already running but is not responding' error. The release notes are not opened in a new tab of the running firefox instance. When both applications have been restarted the problem does not occur. [Bug 431217] Re: package ttf-mscorefonts-installer 2.6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
The problem seems to be that the wget command used is timing out too quickly. The command used is: wget --continue --tries=1 --dns-timeout=10 --connect-timeout=5 --read- timeout=300 $QUIET_ARG --directory-prefix . --no-directories --no- background $URLROOT$ff When I tried to download any of the links from the error output with a simple wget command it always worked.
