[Bug 1561664] [NEW] Inappropriate search results in "Reference" panel in Dash.

2016-03-24 Thread Árni Gunnarsson
Public bug reported:

Search for "gedit" returns search results for "genital mutilation" and
"genital wart" along with some rather X-rated pictures. I don't think
this is something that Ubuntu wishes for people to see in the dash.

I'm running 14.04.4 with everything updated.

[Bug 987894] Re: Support GDM for switching users

2012-04-26 Thread Árni Gunnarsson
I'm using LightDM and similar things happen for me. When I choose "lock
screen" and then log back in all is well. If I however choose to switch
to another user and try to log myself back in Ubuntu freezes or "half
freezes", the desktop becomes unusable.

This was not a problem with Beta2, but became a problem about a week ago
probably for me. So I did a fresh install today with the final release
and the problem was still there.

[Bug 989470] [NEW] Desktop becomes unresponsive after switching users and logging back in

2012-04-27 Thread Árni Gunnarsson
Public bug reported:

I log into Ubuntu and everything works great.

I then choose another user from the user menu. If I then log myself back
in the desktop is unresponsive (or almost so, at least completely
unusable).

If I just choose to "lock screen" and log myself back in a few moments
later all is well.

This must be a Unity issue, it doesn't happen when I choose Unity2D at
startup, neither does it happen with L/X/ubuntu.

I'm using a fresh install of 12.04, 64-bit

[Bug 1296275] [NEW] Canon PowerShot A3200 not working on 14.04, works flawlessly on 12.04

2014-03-23 Thread Árni Gunnarsson
Public bug reported:

I have a Canon Powershot A3200 camera. It works perfectly on 12.04, pops
right up when I plug it in. However on 14.04 nothing happens.

lsusb outputs shows that the camera is detected, with the right model.

2014-06-13 Thread Árni Gunnarsson
Was a little too quick in announcing that it worked. Turns out the
package doesn't work for me but the fix from #44 does. There is as
mentioned in #60 small difference between what the proposed solution
installs and the fix from #44, enough to make it not work for me.
