[Bug 2063147] Re: No lower VRR range for display shown in Settings
We could MIR libdisplay-info, it seems to have practically no dependencies. But on the other hand, the amount of code in Mutter that actually depends on "HAVE_LIBDISPLAY_INFO" is quite small. It could be replicated inline within Mutter, though I doubt upstream would want to. Tracing the field relevant to this bug through the Mutter code (meta_monitor_get_min_refresh_rate), it doesn't look like it has any real function other than a cosmetic one in returning the minimum refresh rate over D-Bus back to the Settings app. Perhaps it should be used in future if that helps to prevent bug 2066080, but for now this bug seems to be purely cosmetic and unimportant. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Low ** Tags added: oracular -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2063147 Title: No lower VRR range for display shown in Settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2063147/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1429291] Re: FTBFS on Ubuntu Vivid due to hang in test-json-instruction
Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue: 1. Check for Known Issues: Verify if there are any known issues or bug reports related to test-json or test-json-instruction for libdbusmenu on Ubuntu Vivid. Sometimes, specific tests may have known problems that are documented. 2. Run the Test Manually: Try running the test-json-instruction manually to see if it provides any more detailed output or logs that could indicate why it is hanging. You can navigate to the test directory and run the test directly: cd /tmp/buildd/libdbusmenu-12.10.3+14.10.20140610/builddir/gtk2/tests ./test-json-instruction Observe any errors or hanging behavior. 3.Increase Verbosity: Increase the verbosity of the test execution to gather more detailed logs. This can often be done by setting environment variables or modifying the test invocation. For example, setting G_DEBUG or DBUS_VERBOSE might provide more insights: export G_DEBUG=all export DBUS_VERBOSE=1 ./test-json-instruction 4.Timeout Handling: Implement a timeout mechanism to prevent the test from hanging indefinitely. You can use tools like timeout in Linux to limit the execution time of the test: timeout 300s ./test-json-instruction This will terminate the test if it runs for more than 5 minutes. 5.Debugging Tools: Use debugging tools like gdb to attach to the test process and see where it is hanging: gdb --args ./test-json-instruction Once inside gdb, you can run the test and interrupt it when it hangs to inspect the call stack: run ^C backtrace 6. Update Dependencies: Ensure that all dependencies for libdbusmenu are up to date. Sometimes issues arise from outdated libraries or tools. You can update your system packages using: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade 7. Isolate the Test: Isolate the test-json-instruction from the rest of the build process to see if it hangs independently. This can help determine if the issue is with the test itself or how it interacts with the build environment. 8. Consult Documentation and Community: Look into the libdbusmenu documentation or reach out to the community for advice. The developers or other users may have encountered and resolved similar issues. By following these steps, you should be able to gather more information about why the test-json-instruction is hanging and find a suitable resolution. If the issue persists, consider filing a bug report with detailed logs and findings. If none of these steps resolve the issue, you might need to gather more information about your https://ssoidloginrajasthan.in/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1429291 Title: FTBFS on Ubuntu Vivid due to hang in test-json-instruction To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdbusmenu/+bug/1429291/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1967488] Re: [nvidia] Chromium stable snap doesn't display anything on Wayland with Nvidia as primary GPU
Interestingly enough, the Chromium snap behaves differently with nvidia 535 and 550. - With 535 you see the description of this bug report, i.e. chromium renders transparently. - When 550 the chromium rendering process segfaults, and after crashing 3 times a fall back mechanism kicks in to use software rendering, so you only get a transparent window for a couple of seconds and then it starts "working". Debugging shows that neither snap-confine nor the gnome extension are ready for nvidia on wayland. They're missing some libraries (ex: libnvidia-allocator.so, libnvidia-egl-gbm.so, gbm/nvidia-drm_gbm.so) and config files pointing to the relevant libraries (ex: /usr/share/egl/egl_external_platform.d/*), as well as environment variables that point to the relevant directories in the confined environment (ex: $GBM_BACKENDS_PATH, $__EGL_EXTERNAL_PLATFORM_CONFIG_DIRS). Even with those pieces in place, I couldn't get chromium to work hardware accelerated (with mixed results in `eglinfo` too). It is very important to note that by default chromium is using X11 through XWayland. If we switch the default (--ozone-platform=wayland), chromium immediately falls back to software rendering, thus mitigating the transparent window bug. However if I now force GLVND to only consider nvidia and ignore mesa with $__EGL_VENDOR_LIBRARY_FILENAMES (together with some of the other fixes from the above paragraph), then `chromium --ozone- platform=wayland` is hardware accelerated! This suggests a bug in GLVND from core22 in my opinion: needs further investigation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1967488 Title: [nvidia] Chromium stable snap doesn't display anything on Wayland with Nvidia as primary GPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1967488/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2026194] Re: When clicking on some maximized or tiled windows, focus on roughly the lower quarter falls to the window behind
** Description changed: [ Impact ] Clicking on some maximized or fullscreen windows may not respond and the clicks fall through to the window behind. [ Test Plan ] - Someone please fill this in with instructions that reference easily - available software in Ubuntu. + If auto login is not enabled, enable auto login and reboot. The issue + can immediately be observed with first party apps such as the software + settings GUI where apt sources, update settings, and GPU drivers are + located. Have anything open behind it and then try to use it. Dragging + the window to another location outside of the bounds of its default size + and position makes it completely unusable because it clicks through to + the window behind it no matter where you click. If the desktop is behind + it, then the window will be usable but entities on the desktop will be + clicked if they're located beneath what you clicked on in the window. + Attempts to resize the window will fail. This behavior is identical for + any affected application. [ Where problems could occur ] The bug and the fix appears to be X11-specific, but that can affect Wayland sessions too via Xwayland. The risk here is in the sizing and interactivity of any X11 window. Mistakes in this area can result in other bugs similar to this one where the visual boundaries of a window do not match with its input boundaries. [ Original description ] Initially I thought this was an issue with IntelliJ and filed a bug there: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-323780/Maximizing-the-the-window-sometimes-causes-clicks-on-a-lower-fraction-to-pass-through-to-the-window-behind But when I had the same issue with GIMP, I realized it's an Ubuntu or GNOME issue instead. I am assuming this is a gnome-shell problem. Every once in a while, when I maximize or tile (Win+Right) the IntelliJ window, a bottom fraction of the window (somewhere around a quarter) becomes impossible to interact with, with the mouse. Clicking in that lower area will give focus to the thing behind IntelliJ, and if it's a window, raise it to the foreground. if I restore the window so that it is not maximized, the entire window is interactive with the mouse once again. This also happened with GIMP. The attached "Screencast" is a recording. I had to crop it to hide personal information. The attached screenshot shows the state of my screen so you have context, with a bright green color used to replace personal information. For the first 10s of the recording, I simply moused over to show how the cursor changes around a quarter from the bottom of the screen. For the next 10s, I left click, then move, then left click, then move, until focus changes to Sublime, the window behind IntelliJ. For the remainder of the video I show that right-clicking and mousing over works fine on the top three quarters, until I reach the bottom again, and then the right click is sent to Sublime. [Bug 1969643] Re: RBD: Unable to delete a volume which has snapshot/volume children
Hi Ed and Chengen, Ed, thanks for your review and feedback. > I think that to make this patch really same some guardrails should be put in place. > it might have been safer to make this an optional feature, defaulting to disabled This also aligns with Dan's feedback (internal): > there are significant changes in behavior that are not protected by an opt-in > flag. > In fact, there is no opt-out mechanism either. So, probably the next steps would be to modify the patch to include an opt-in flag, and make the behavior change disabled by default. Chengen, is this something you could look at? The quantity and structure of the code changes in this patch might make this more difficult and require higher-touch, but hopefully it should be possible -- and if you would like any assistance, please let me know. You can find a more trivial example at [1]. Thanks!
