I suppose that would that be an ubuntu-specific patch for apparmor
userspace? I'm assuming the ABI tells userspace which features are
supported, unless this particular feature can be tested for some other
way? Would the patched userspace know not to use these features under
this ABI in a future 4.18+ kernel or a non-Ubuntu pre-4.17 kernel?
I'm just a bit worried about the upgrade path here.

TTBOMK the version of the Danish dictionary is 2.1 from 2012-07-14,
according to the README_da_DK.txt that is next to the source files.

According to the changelog, the Danish dictionary was last updated in

That is interesting.  The original USB mouse is working OK now but the

When I logged in to my locked PC this morning the mouse began behaving
strangely.  It would only move to one of several vertical points if I
made a violent motion.  It seemed to move left to right as normal.

To try and solve this I unplugged the USB connection and put it back
into the same slot.  This resulted in the optical USB mouse not working
at all.  I tried to move the USB connection to another slot but it still
would not work.  I fetched a known working USB mouse from another PC and
plugged it in.  That still would not work.

Having got access to another PC I did an internet search for possible
solutions.  I found a post on askubntun.com that suggested the problem
lay in the fwupd package.  Rather than remove and kill that packaged as
suggested in the post; I thought I would try posting a bug report first
to see if any useful diagnostics come up that might resolve this.

I have a meeting starting soon.  If there are any further actions I
could take to diagnose this while the USB mouse is still not working,
please let me know as soon as possible.  When I return from the meeting
I will try the steps suggested on askubuntu.com question 768455 (which
also referes out to bugzilla redhat bug 1322259.


As if by magic I just knocked the mouse and it seems to be working again.  It 
was not working when I started the diagnostic and began typing this all out...

I just discovered that the temporary solution as described in previous
post #20 seem to hold only for the current browser window which has been
once expanded and bounced up in order to correct the offset, however,
opening a new window or right click on a link and selecting "Open link
in New Window" will bring the offset anomaly back but only for those new
windows opened up, same for when opening up a "New Private Window".

As the aufs module has been promoted to the main linux-image package for
linux-aws, maybe you can skip the installation for linux-image-
extra-$(uname -r)?

And as per Kamal's comment in that bug description, there is no -extra
package for linux-aws, I think this is another good reason for you to
skip the extra package.

Intel has released a new microcode version which includes the prerequisites
for SSBD patches

Normally this would be automatically synced to the current development
version, Ubuntu Cosmic. However, the most recent package version there
contains an additional Ubuntu patch, so if those changes are still
needed, someone needs to manually merge the latest version from Debian.

I updated the chromium license to BSD-3-Clause (see 
https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/LICENSE).
The snapcraft dashboard allows selecting multiple licenses, but it says 
"Multiple licenses can be selected to indicate alternative choices", so I don't 
think that's what we want (chromium code is governed by multiple licenses, but 
it's not an either/or choice).

I verified that, following the change, the chromium snap is listed as
free software in gnome-software.

I just installed the new KDE Neon Bionic version as a VM. The Trick
doesn't work there. The freetype-version is 2.8.1-2ubuntu2 like on the
Kubuntu Host. Maybe the /etc/environment is ignored there. I'm just
researching.

More plugging an unplugging mice and now my original mouse is working in
the original USB port again.

In the RedHat bug they as for the output of `lsusb -v` and `dmesg`.  I
shall post those here while I have an easy way to copy and paste and
then move on.

Don't know why the new kernel didn't install from the software updater,
but after manually installing it, it works fine. Now to do the same on
other machine. Funny it all installed fine with the software updater on
my main machine.

[Bug 1780409] [NEW] wifi on 16.04

Public bug reported:

Has trouble finding my router wifi. Sometimes finds my neighbour's but not 
mine. Others do not have this problem. Advice in Help sometimes works to 
connect.
When found, the connection 'arcs' icon shows a connection but then changes to 
the double arrow logo (usually associated with wire connection).
Currently connected but showing double arrow. Drop-down menu shows no available 
wifi's.

Hi Guilherme,

Well, this is odd, the problem seems fixed.

This machine dual boots and the issue was on xubuntu 18.04 which is not my
daily driver (yet).  When I re-booted today (first time since my last bug
reply), it has loaded the NVIDIA binary driver without comment and all
seems well.

I guess something else fixed the issue, so not sure how you mark this one,
closed I guess.

I confirm that now Chromium snap is listed as "free" in the Software
Center. However Chroimum "source: local" is still proprietary -
https://i.imgur.com/zM5xDSr.png

Also, Chromium was one example of such a bug. I see many MIT or GPL3
licencesed software labeled as proprietary in the Software Center.To
test install Ulauncher (GPL3) or Stacer (MIT), to name 2 random ones.

Can you please test if this happens in 18.04? You can verify from live
media. No need to perform an installation.

Please check with fwupd in verbose mode and share the log.

Try to negotiate higher version of CIFS protocol which deals better with
timeouts, for me it helped to use vers=2.0 option but there should be
also 2.1/3.0 etc. according to mount.cifs(8). Recent Linux kernels
automatically negotiate highest vers supported by client/server but
these kernels just defaulted to 1.0.

apport-collect 1083097

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Thanks Michael, at first glance the error_log is with mod_proxy_ajp, while 
attachment 34451 is about mod_proxy_http (and I'd like to keep the scope there 
for now).
I agree that unpatched mod_proxy_http sends "100 continue" too soon (actually 
independently on the client and backend side).
The patch is precisely to avoid that (hop by hop 100-continue handling), did 
you give it a try? If yes, could I have the error_log with mod_proxy_http?
