[Bug 1082446]
When trying to verify this on Firefox 17.0.1 I noticed that after replacing the permissions.sqlite file in my profile folder I had 2 cookies listed under the Excetions category in Options->Privacy-> History. One of them is schafmail.de and the other one is www.openstreetmap.org, even though I didn't accept the cookie and set the remember checkbox. Is that expected in any way? Moreover on Firefox 17 after replacing the permissions.sqlite file the only listed cookie is schafmail.de, on Firefox 17.0.1 I see 2 cookies (schafmail.de and www.openstreetmap.org) and on Firefox 16.02 I see 3 cookies listed under Exceptions (www.openstreetmap.org scheme:file and schafmail.de). Yes. Since Firefox 17, we consider "scheme:file" as an invalid entry. Basically, the cookie permissions in the file are the following: schafmail.de scheme:file openstreetmap.org Firefox 16 reads, accepts and loads all of them (thus, three of them listed). Firefox 17.0.0 accepts "schafmail.de" but refuses "scheme:file" so stop reading the permissions, thus do not load "openstreetmap.org" Firefox 17.0.1 also refuses "scheme:file" but continue to read the file so "openstreetmap.org" is loaded. [Bug 944653] Re: compiz crashed on startup with SIGSEGV in strstr() from GLScreen::GLScreen()
BTW here is my particular test case to reproduce the bug, it is rather different from other folks since I only experience the bug when I don't have the nvidia kernel module loaded, so here goes: 1. Make the nvidia module unavailable, eg: mv /lib/modules/3.2.0-34-generic/updates/dkms/nvidia_current.ko ~ 2. Reboot the machine and login 3. I immediately get the compiz segfault and cannot launch any windows, desktop is not responsive so I have to kill X and login in console mode 4. Install the proposed packages (compiz-core, compiz-gnome, compiz-plugins, compiz-plugins-default, libdecoration0, version 1:0.9.7.8+bzr3121-0ubuntu1) per instructions 5. Reboot the machine and login 6. I do NOT get the segfault, however compiz fails due to the nvidia module and relevant extensions not loaded (as expected), but I can launch (undecorated) windows... there is no crash and this verifies the bug fix for me! 7. Restore the nvidia kernel module in its place 8. Reboot the machine and login 9. Everything works properly -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/944653 Title: compiz crashed on startup with SIGSEGV in strstr() from GLScreen::GLScreen() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/944653/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1084956] [NEW] nm-applet goes unresponsive randomly
Public bug reported: nm-applet sometimes goes unresponsive, generally after a couple of days of intermittent laptop use (including suspends). The menu does come up, but choosing an interface to activate doesn't do anything for either wifi or mobile networks. Not even a visible attempt is made to connect, nor is a failure reported. Killing nm-applet and restarting it is a functional workaround (and thus is also logging out and back in), so it's clearly the applet and not network manager itself that's the problem. While there is a workaround, this is likely to be very frustrating for users, especially those less likely to come up with the kill/restart workaround. Using the standard Unity interface, if that matters. mjrauhal@t420s-4:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release:12.04 mjrauhal@t420s-4:~$ apt-cache policy network-manager-gnome network-manager-gnome: Installed: 0.9.4.1-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 0.9.4.1-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 0.9.4.1-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://cubbli.cs.helsinki.fi/mirror/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084956 Title: nm-applet goes unresponsive randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/1084956/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1084402] Re: kernel reports bug does call trace and halts at boot up
I have install the upstream kernel 3.7.0-030700rc7-generic, headers and the extra package. No stack dumps so far, but I will test if for some time still. My hardware is set back to what it was before. One strange thing (not a bug) there is no terminal if I do Ctrl alt F1. Also if I stop the X server my screen is completely blank, there is no terminal session. I will continue testing. [Bug 1084960] [NEW] Resume from Standby mode doesn't work with Nouveau on Geforce GT430
Public bug reported: Hello, if I'm using the Nouveau driver with my graphics board (Geforce GT430), standby mode (a.k.a. suspend-to-ram) does not work. Going into standby mode itself works, but when I turn my PC back on, the monitor shows just a kind of colorful "noise" with the usual mouse cursor (the cursor itself is displayed properly). Sometimes it's possible to move the cursor a bit, but the system can't be used anymore and has to rebooted with the Alt+Print+b keycombo. This also happens on Quantal when I use the Nouveau driver. With the propritary Nvidia driver, standby mode works fine.
