[Bug 926536] [NEW] nspi_SeekEntries does not set the table position
Public bug reported: Package === Source: openchange Version: 1:0.11-1 Ubuntu release Description:Ubuntu 11.10 What should happen A call to nspi_SeekEntries should result in a "seek" operation, positioning subsequent reads to begin at the specified offset in the table. As per this report to upstream: http://mailman.openchange.org/pipermail/devel/2012-January/005433.html What happens instead == The search part works, but the current offset is not set. Subsequent reads simply start from the beginning of the table. The above thread contains a patch which I have tested. The fix is required for the correct operation of the Exchange interface being developed for KDE's PIM suite so in the absence of a response from upstream, I would be grateful if this could be applied in time for the Precise release. Thanks, Shaheed ** Affects: openchange (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/926536 Title: nspi_SeekEntries does not set the table position To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openchange/+bug/926536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 751689] Re: ThinkPads overheat due to slow fans when on 'auto'
I had this problem on Maverick on a ThinkPad X201 tablet (computer overheating and rebooting), and as a workaround kept my computer underclocked (using the CPU frequency scaling applet for the GNOME panel). After using that way for a while (maybe for a few months to a year), I tried again a few months ago with normal CPU settings. The rebooting problem was fixed (presumably by some update): the CPU speed would now be throttled when the computer overheats (kicks in at about 82 degrees C), avoiding a reboot (when it hits 100 degrees). (Of course, the underlying problem of slow fans remains.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/751689 Title: ThinkPads overheat due to slow fans when on 'auto' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/751689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 882254] Re: /etc/rc.local is not executed at startup
> When installing how, with what version of Ubuntu? Same Version as reported by Florian, see bug description: 11.10 amd64 > This bug was reported against Ubuntu 11.10. The initscripts package in Ubuntu 11.10 includes an /etc/rc.local file that is marked executable. I don't know whats marked as whatsoever - but after installation of Ubuntu 11.10 (x86_64) it is possible that /etc/rc.local is not executable. I've double checked that in the moment by performing two identical fresh installations on different hardware and it seems to be a strange behaviour: * HP EliteBook 8560p, i5-2540M, SSD: NOT executable * Virtual machine (VMware ESXi): executable Installations were done by booting the live CD per PXE, then performing "apt-get upgrade". >> So chmod -x /etc/rc.local makes the trick. > No, that does the exact opposite of what you want. [Bug 648180] Re: Unity is not an adequate replacement for Gnome2 (and sucks a little bit less then it used to)
Many users, especially those who are new to Linux, will not simply install a different desktop environment. They will switch distributions instead. [Bug 908659] Re: VGA output fails on startup
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging. Regression began in 10.10 and continues in 11.04. Reporter has been testing upstream git snapshots and finds problem still persists. [Original Description] Since I upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10, the monitor displays correctly for a couple of seconds, then turns black for a fraction of a second and then repeats the on and off sequence, making the computer nearly unusable. The whole sequence is periodic, not random. Another bug reported earlier (#606987) persists in this release as well, perhaps with the exception that restarting the computer (as opposed to turning it on after a shutdown) gives a normal logon screen. (I only used Restart a couple of times since the upgrade.) With a live CD for natty, the display is fine up to the screen where I am shown the menu that includes using Ubuntu without installing. Once I choose this option the display changes and the name ubuntu appears, underscored by five dots whose color changes from white to red and back to show that the computer is doing work. It is there that the screen starts to blink. I have only one monitor, although at some level - at least for maverick and older versions - the computer seems to think that I have two. This is probably at least part of the cause of the other bug (#606987) I mentioned in the original description of this problem. [Bug 874723] Re: Ubuntu 11.10 startup and shutdown times
Sorry, but this does not describe an actionable bug in Ubuntu. There are many factors that may contribute to a longer boot time; we are actively working on improving this for 12.04, but a bug report saying that boot is slower doesn't help. Closing this report as invalid. ** Changed in: upstart (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874723 Title: Ubuntu 11.10 startup and shutdown times To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upstart/+bug/874723/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 926495] Re: FTBFS on powerpc (again)
Oh, the patch was disabled because it needs work. I knew that it didn't build on powerpc, and that was also clear on the upstream bug as well. This is going to be a regular occurrence (every 6 weeks) because the JS engine changes fast, and powerpc is only a tier 3 platform upstream (which means that it gets no consideration upstream when making changes, and is only kept alive by distributions) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/926495 Title: FTBFS on powerpc (again) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/926495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 926550] [NEW] No way to test proposed updates to juju
Public bug reported: juju-origin in environments.yaml needs to accept 'distro-proposed', or environments.yaml needs to accept some other option that will allow directing juju to install the version of juju from the -proposed pocket. The simplest thing is to allow juju-origin to have the URL of a .deb. This is currently blocking the ability to do an SRU for the bugs fixed in juju since the Ubuntu 11.10 release. ** Affects: juju Importance: High Status: New ** Affects: juju (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Affects: juju (Ubuntu Oneiric) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Affects: juju (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Also affects: juju (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: juju (Ubuntu Oneiric) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: juju (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: juju (Ubuntu Oneiric) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: juju (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: juju Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: juju (Ubuntu Oneiric) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: juju (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/926550 Title: No way to test proposed updates to juju To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju/+bug/926550/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 896805] Re: nautilus doesn't pick dynamically themes updates
The problem is still there. It does not happen as frequently as in the beginning though. Also, I noticed that if I do not log in directly, but instead wait for a while after the login-screen is up, the issue is less likely to appear. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/896805 Title: nautilus doesn't pick dynamically themes updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/896805/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 926556] [NEW] launcher does not reveal when using trackpads
Public bug reported: Steps: 1. Have a netbook or laptop with a trackpad 2. Open a window full screen (this will cause the launcher to autohide) 3. Point mouse cursor to edge of screen 4. swipe to the left to Push off the screen Expected: The launcher will reveal with a reasonable amount of pointing Result: on both of my computers it takes 4 or 5 entire swipe of the trackpad to get the launcher to reveal.
