[Bug 604635] Re: Have default settings be energy star 5.0 compliant
The Rhythmbox plugin works like it currently does because the two relevant inhibit flags that gnome-session provides are 'suspend' and 'idle'. 'Suspend' (as far as I know) inhibits all suspend operations, including user-initiated ones such as closing the laptop lid. WIth the older version of the plugin, using the gnome-power-manager dbus interface, we had reports of users almost frying their laptops because they assumed closing the lid would cause it to suspend, but the Rhythmbox plugin inhibited it, so placing it in an enclosed space caused it to overheat. 'Idle' only inhibits events that occur due to the machine being idle, which unfortunately for us includes screensaver and DPMS standby as well as suspending the machine. I figured this was the safer choice. If there was an 'idle suspend' inhibit flag I'd certainly switch to it, but I don't seem to have done anything about asking for one yet.. -- Have default settings be energy star 5.0 compliant https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 627275] [NEW] Suspend to RAM broken with 2.6.35 kernels on T500
Public bug reported: I tried the latest Maverick 2.6.35 kernels for regression testing on my Lenovo Thinkpad T500 with Ubuntu 9.10. All kernels including 2.6.35.4 show a suspend to RAM problem. The system simply freezes when suspending. Screen is still on, disk off, cpu fan off, but the moon still flashes. There is no way out besides a hard power down. I attached to suspend logs from a success with 2.6.35.4 and a failure with 2.6.35.4. Suspend seems to work fine one or two times, but when doing it for the third time, the machines freezes. No other log contains any information because some of the suspend information seems to be written after waking the machine up and therefore do not make it into the log when a hard restart is necessary. This is from the kernel log, when the machine suspends correctly (but writes some of the log after waking up). Aug 30 18:23:28 linpicard kernel: [ 8717.973146] PM: Syncing filesystems ... done. [Bug 192643] Re: dnsmasq with enable-dbus doesn't work properly with NetworkManager
Hello, Actually it appears that network-manager creates its own dnsmasq fomr the dnsmasq-base package. It ignore any and all settings in dnsmasq as the conf file is only set and included in the dnsmasq package (not the base). It is called and appear with ONLY command line settings. It appears as if there is no checking to see if the configuration file exists and if it exists to attach it instead of the default command line arguments. Shouldnt this have been tested before release? It would have been nice to confirm if dnsmasq was called correctly. It would solve this and my issues (where the dhcp range in dnsmasq is not what I want - I want to specify my own dhcp range and settings but these are ignored as dnsmasq.conf is not checked for and called. -- dnsmasq with enable-dbus doesn't work properly with NetworkManager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192643 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 627287] [NEW] Rewrites /etc/cups/printers.conf every night
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups In order to get Kerberos authentication to work for the Windows/Samba printer on my network, I wanted to comment out the AuthInfoRequired line in my printers.conf. NoOp, thanks for the report. I've made a first version of the patch for you. For this test, you should first make sure that the audio drivers from ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev is *not* installed, and that no model is selected. Then download and install http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-intel-hda-update-diwic- hp-g60-dkms_1.0.23_all.deb (make sure it installs without errors), and reboot. If everything works: * speakers should auto-mute when hp is plugged in * auto-switch to external mic when plugged in (internal mic should work otherwise), i e no manual mic selection * you won't have any SPDIF anymore, since it is not physically present. Public bug reported: liblogthread-dev should contain a pkg-config description, /usr/lib/pkgconfig/liblogthread.pc. The upstream Debian package, version 3.0.12-2 has this file. It is absent from the current Ubuntu version, 3.0.2-2ubuntu3. This breaks the build process for any packages using liblogthread functionality in conjunction with pkg-config. [Bug 627073] Re: software-center gives ROUND_CEiLiNG error
This issue is similar to bug #581207 (see the discussion there for details), and is a known problem in python itself. As remarked and suggested in comments #15 and #16 there, a cheap workaround is to explicitly `import decimal` before setting the locale, at startup, even though we don't need it directly. -- software-center gives ROUND_CEiLiNG error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/627073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 584997] Re: TypeError in python wrapper, caused by swig change
This regression makes the opensync python plugin virtually unusable. Any sync that has modifications originating in a python based opensync plugin will result in a TypeError exception and a premature end to the sync. At this point any sync with this sync group becomes impossible. The problem will not be addressed upstream because development on the 0.2x branch has ended in favour of the, as yet not release ready, 0.3x branch. Fixes to the 0.2x branch will be required at distribution level until 0.3x/0.40 is ready for release. The above patch is suitable in this case. TEST CASE: Using a Windows Mobile device and the synce packages, create an opensync sync group containing the synce-opensync-plugin and another opensync plugin, eg. the evolution plugin $ msynctool --addgroup test $ msynctool --addmember test evo2-sync $ msynctool --addmember synce-opensync-plugin $ msynctool --configure test 1 $ synce-create-partnership test Contacts Create a new contact on either side, and perform a sync. $ msynctool --sync test Modify the contact on the device (the plugin that uses the python wrapper, modifications from the other side work ok), and run another sync. $ msynctool --sync test This will fail with a TypeError. -- TypeError in python wrapper, caused by swig change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584997 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
