[SM-USERS] Question

2004-01-11 Thread support
I used the RPM install for RedHat 9 and I was wanting to know something. How
do I access SquirrelMail now? Or are there additional configurations that must
be done?

Please forgive me. I am new to Linux and server ops as a whole.

Thanks.

[SM-USERS] A New Question

2004-01-18 Thread support
Okay... please forgive my last post. I just tried accessing
http://www.johnsboro.com/webmail and I am now able to access SquirrelMail. This
is weird because it hasn't worked since I installed it two days ago. But okay
it seems to be working now.

I am getting an error message, however.

When I log into SquirrelMail, I get an error message on the left column. The
error reads: "ERROR : Could not complete request. Query: CREATE "mail/Sent"
Reason Given: Invalid mailbox name"

What can I do to fix this?

[SM-USERS] Error in Left Pane

2004-02-10 Thread JOI Support

I am running SquirrelMail 1.4.2 on a Compaq server
with RedHat 9, Apache 2, and latest versions of PHP, mySQL, Sendmail,
etc.

I used the RPM install for RedHat 9 and the
software installed properly. I am able to send and receive emails from it with
no problem. When I log in, however, I get this error message in the left and
frame:

ERROR : Could not complete
request.Query: CREATE "mail/Sent"Reason Given: Invalid mailbox
name

Because of this error, I am unable to create any
personal folders, or special folders like TRASH, SENT, etc.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

squirrelmail is an IMAP client. Your IMAP server should take care of this
for
you. Squirrelmail doesn't directly interact with the mailstore.

Subject: [SM-USERS] Wrong domain in From and Return-Path

Hi All,

I am using squirrelmail 1.4.2 on linux with the UW IMAP server. The box is
hosting multiple mail domains. Looking at the headers below, the address
this email was sent with was [EMAIL PROTECTED], but it arrived as
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Both of these domains are setup on the server. The
default domain in the squirrelmail config is actually different from
either of these. The aellifson account has the full email address
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) setup in the Personal Information of the
squirrelmail Options.

I am having the same problem with multiple users -- the domain is wrong in
the From and Return-Path headers when the mail arrives. No matter what
domain I send from, it always reverts to kilbride.com when it arrives.
Notice that the X-Authentication-Warning header says apache tried to set
the sender to the correct domain, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Is this a common problem? I didn't see anything in the FAQ or find
anything in the list archives. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

[SM-USERS] Hairr pulling not helping to configure SM on NT

2004-09-15 Thread ARC Support
I have been trying to get SM 1.4.3a running on NT4 SP6 with Apache 2.0.50,
php 5.0.1 & Mercury 4.0.1a. I've followed every hint I've been able to glean
from various info sites and there just isn't any doccumentation covering the
new releases of SM, Apache, php and Mercury. What I run into when calling
index.php from my smail directory (which resides in c:/
Apache/Apache2/htdocs) is:

Warning: main(SMail/functions/strings.php) [function.main]: failed to open
stream: No such file or directory in
C:\Apache\Apache2\htdocs\SMail\src\login.php on line 19

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required
'SMail/functions/strings.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in
C:\Apache\Apache2\htdocs\SMail\src\login.php on line 19

If I use absolute paths instead of the SM_PATH constant I get further.
Although I haven't gone all the way and put absolute paths throughout every
document, it seems it might work if I would. But, that isn't the goal, the
goal is to use the path constant ( define('SM_PATH','SMail/'); ) for ease of
configuration, and, as I understand it, absolute paths slow the process way
down.

Now, line 19 of the login.php calls:
require_once(SM_PATH . 'functions/strings.php');.
Using the absolute path it finds the file and the error message moves on to
the next line, and so-on. When I put in an absolute path, I can keep moving
ahead.

I've tried using an absolute path for the constant, I.E.:
define('SM_PATH','c:/Apache/Apache2/htdocs/SMail/'); and I get access
violations. I have tried to make the smail directory shared with full rights
for everyone (I know, security risk) to no avail. At least with the constant
set to 'SM_PATH','SMail/' I get the above error msg (I have all reporting
turned on, another security issue)

It seems there may be a permissions issues, but isn't htdocs owned by Apache
already? And how to set permissions in NT other than what I've already
tried? I'll make my entire configuration details available to anybody
willing to help. HELP!!

[SM-USERS] Squirrelmail Issue

2014-05-01 Thread Switchworks/MyCybernet Support
Hi,

I have no clue if I'm sending this concern to the right department.
Unfortunately, I can't find any direct contact for support on Squirrelmail. We
just found out some changes on Squirrelmail once logged in. The inbox doesn't
show up, instead is has some kind of form that our customer needs to fill out.
Like name, and others. I have attached a screen shot on what it looks like. Is
this something that Squirrelmail requires our customers to do? A response would
gladly be appreciated.

Cheers!

[SM-USERS] Transient problems on Imap login

2002-12-05 Thread Alpha Network Support Team
Dear all,

Installation:
Mandrake 8.2 kernel 2.4.18.6
Squirrelmail-1.2.10
Imap-2001a-5.1
apache-1.3.23-4
php-4.1.2
php-imap-4.1.2

The problem:
The system works fine on installation, but after running for a while we
cannot login or the system cannot display anything even one has login. On
reviewing the maillog the following message was foung:
Dec 6 10:21:05 webmail[13164]: Command stream end of file, while reading
line user=\1m\1i\1c\1h\1e\1l\1l\1e\1 host=localhost.localdomain
[127.0.0.1]

Apparently each character of the username was prefixed by a "\1" and thus
the PAM cannot authorised any access and a imapd login failure.

On restarting the apache server the system works again ... until the same
happens again.

Thank you very much in advanced and suggestions on fixing this problem is
much appreciated.

nb. We had no problem with Squirrelmail-1.2.6 or below.

Hello guys,

thanks a lot for your responses and sorry for my late feedback!

I decided to use mod_rewrite an it works fine!

Thanks again!

Best wishes,
Ivan
