Re: [SM-USERS] Bug Report
I installed 1.5.1 and there are a few minor things that I noticed.I cannot get the msg_flags plugin to work since the diff file will no longer patch. Did you even read the msg_flags page or the release notes or...??? That plugin is integrated into 1.5.1, so if you tried to patch it into the core, you really screwed up your code. Window depth does not work when the plugin html_mail is installed and configured to use FCKeditor. Window is so small it is not useable See the plugins list archives. This has been fixed but the plugin is not ready for next release quite yet. As my many messages have said, you may contact me offlist for a preview copy. Emotions are not available when the plugin html_mail is installed and configured to use HTMLArea. They are if you use the patch that comes with the plugin. Please read the INSTALL file. I don't think patches are included for 1.5.x, since it is still under development and changes too much, but you can fiddle with the 1.4.4 patch and get it to work if emoticons mean that much to you. When saving a draft e-mail that is in HTML format, the HTML format is not saved when resuming draft. Sheesh, do your research before posting. This is in beta form right now. Ask me off list if you want a copy of the new code. --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. Re: [SM-USERS] Bug Report
Where do I find the plug in archives? I've taken a look on the Squirrelmail homepage but did not notice any archives. Archive links are plastered all over the mailing list page you used to find subscription instructions. Amazing you couldn't take time to read the rest of that page. http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/MailingLists > Sorry that I didn't see your many (no doubt rude too) Only "rude" when people who should have read the posting guidelines obviously don't. It could easily be considered rude to waste the time of people helping you for free to re-ask questions that have already been answered many times over. If you can't be bothered to find the archives on our site or read our posting guidelines, you can always try google, assuming you know how to use that. Please read this before posting next time: http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/MailingLists In regards to emotions, and I'm surprised you don't know this since you seem to know it all already, there is no patch for 1.5.1. Emotions don't mean that much to me, I was merly pointing out that the emotions are there under FCKeditor but not HTMLArea. Like I mentioned today at some point, 1.5.1 is under development, which means it changes constantly. It becomes pointless to re-release patches that will only change every month or more. Like I already said, if you are trying 1.5.1, you should adapt the 1.4.4 or 1.4.3 patch and it will work fine. --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. I don't think I can do this... I'm not an linux expert but I'm sure that that does not need to be the case...otherwise that means apache would have to own the root directory as well =) No, just has to be able to get in there, that can be done without owning the directories above, chmod o+rx should do it... I didn't see you confirm that the apache service is running as apache, try changing the permissions so world has read/write permissions (777) on the directory, and see if that helps? Also, are you sure that apache isn't running in a chroot environment? If you have specified the full path in the configuration, and apache is chroot'd, it will cause issues there. Jonathan, Many thanks for the follow up. Indeed the permissions are correct and apache is "apache". I tried with 777 as well. I located the problem. For your interest this is the situation. Quite interesting: I'm using openbase_dir for security. /home/virtual/domain1 ==symbolic==> site1/fst/ /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/squirrelmail-data so therefore: /home/virtual/domain1/var/www/squirrelmail-data is the same directory. In squirrelmail vlogin config: $data_dir = /home/virtual/###VIRTUALDOMAIN###/var/www/squirrelmail-data In that domains apache's directives: php_admin_value open_basedir /home/virtual/domain1/var/www/squirrelmail-data The above doesn't work because of the symbolic link. I read that all symbolic links are resolved before checking against the the allowed baserdir's. So I change apache to: php_admin_value open_basedir /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/squirrelmail-data However this won't work either. It appears I actually have to change the vlogin config as well to show the actual path. $site = exec(sitelookup(###VIRTUALDOMAIN###)) $data_dir = /home/virtual/site/fst/var/www/squirrelmail-data you mean $data_dir = /home/virtual/$site/fst/var/www/squirrelmail-data ? ($site, not site) if you need ###VIRTUALDOMAIN### to be replaced with "site1" then it might be possible to instead move your domain definition inside of vlogin's $virtualDomains array: 'domain' => '/home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/squirrelmail-data', This then works. Quite annoying because the sitelookup function takes quite a while to complete each time (with lots of sites on the box). Any suggestions about the above? It might be helpful to have some sort of wiki about the above as I expect this type of virtual domaining happens on other boxes as well. (i am personally using Ensim). Re: [SM-USERS] Squirrelmail 1.4.4 and Courier-Imap authentication help?
I have been trying to get Squirrelmail working with Courier-Imap and have hit a wall. If I manually test access to the imap server with a, telnet myimapserver 143 a001 LOGIN username password (everything works just fine.) However when I try the same thing with Squirrelmail 1.4.4 I get a error of: "Unknown user or password incorrect" This would be understandable if this were true. However it is not since I can manually access the imap server and LOGIN just fine. I even tried a different imap server with the same error. (Even though I could manually authenticate with the imap server fine.) Having said all this can anyone suggest how to fix this? Try enabling debug in courier. It'll log the username and password that's passed to it. I'll bet that will point you to what you've misconfigured. Marc, First thanks for the reply. Having set logging in courier-imap I can see the password string is never being sent. (Squirrelmail 1.4.4) This even though it is entered in login.php. So it is on the Squirrelmail side of things. (Confirmed by trying the same procedure with dovecot imapd.) Isn't this odd when one can see that the Username is being sent to the imapd server but not the password. (Even though it is really entered in the Password field.) I would have thought that the same php routine would be called to post this info for imapd LOGIN. Re: [SM-USERS] WTK: How to Backup and Restore the Addresses Data for each mail user
Sorry if this has already been answered. I have installed Fedora Core 3 and I'm using all the default software in the linux compilation. I am able to migrate the mail files from the /home/(user) folders but I have not been able to find the location of the personal settings data or especially the Address Data saved by each user. It doesn't seem to be stored in the user directory and I haven't found it in the /usr/share/squirrelmail directory. I've tried grep -R "known data string" /usr/share/squirrelmail to see if I could find any file that might contain a piece of data known to be part of the addresses saved by a user. I've had no luck. Look at the config/config.php file in your squirrelmail directory and note the location of $data_dir, which is where you will find all your users' prefs and address books, unless you have configured SM to use a SQL backend for prefs, which it does not sound like you have done. --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. Re: [SM-USERS] Load Balancing and session side effect
I was going to say "that should never happen", but if one web server clobbers another's session file with a new user, it is slightly possible, however you will never get the issue of you deleting a message in one of your folders, and it deleting a message in another. The code uses post variables to delete, so it's just not possible for that to happen, but as I said, if the session gets clobbered by another user, and it loads somebody elses user information, then that is possible... though I'm not sure how PHP keeps a handle on sessions to stop this happening in a non-load balanced situation. I'm pretty sure I've seen that happen first-hand, although it's been awhile, so perhaps not. Another example: Delete/Move Next would jumble and end up deleting the wrong message and/or moving to the incorrect "next" message and/or displaying the body of the correct message with the headers of the incorrect one (that one's documented in the archives). Many times did I have to resort to digging through my Trash folder to recover a lost message... Most of these would be caused by sessions... The delete_move_next functionality relies heavily on the session information to retrieve the next/previous message information. I thought I had read that PHP will flock() the session handles, but going back to read up on it now, I can't confirm that. You did :) http://php.net/session-write-close Basically summarized: Session data is usually stored after your script terminated without the need to call session_write_close(), but as session data is locked to prevent concurrent writes only one script may operate on a session at any time. However, it's easy to see that on a single web server, multiple clicks inside SQM (in separate frames) will not execute simultaneously, so some server-side serialization must be going on. Okay, an example of why I believe the deletion of the wrong message can/might happen in a load balanced situation, and using NFS for the session storage. - User 1 logs in to webserver 1, gets session id abc123 - User 2 logs in to webserver 2, gets session id abc123 and trashes current contents of abc123 session file Is this possible even with plain NFS if both servers point to the same session store over NFS? I thought NFS was designed to avoid that. Is the only solution to run NFS on top of something like GFS? What a hassle. - User 1 deletes a message using dmn plugin, uses wrong session information as user 2 has trashed file... wrong email removed Though saying that, and describing the above situation, I still think deleting the wrong email is impossible IF you are using UID support in your imap server. The reason being is your IMAP server is assigning unique identifiers for each message that SHOULD never change, and that UID, along with the mailbox name is what is passed to the IMAP server to be deleted (even if using the delete_move_next plugin). Now it is possible that the wrong message appears AFTER you delete the message, even with UID support enabled, but I don't think it is possible to delete the wrong email --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tell us your software development plans! What is the probability of two different users getting the same session ID? Note it is not only two users, but two web servers. It is possible, but the possibility of it is probably VERY slim. The session ids are randomly generated based on a number of variables I believe (I've not looked at the PHP code in such a while), and that alone makes the chances of collisions very... difficult :) You can "replicate" similar kind of "behaviors" in earlier versions of 1.2.x, I've not been able to replicate it recently... but here is the steps you used to be able to use... 1. open browser and login 2. open another browser and login to a different account 3. go back to first browser, and click on a different folder, perhaps the sent folder as an example. The session information from the first login is smashed by the login information from the second user, but depending on how the logins were timed, and a few other unknown variables I've found, sometimes the user information (preferences, settings, etc) from the first login would smash the second login's preferences. I believe I took care of that in the later 1.2.x versions, and I've not been able to replicate it in the 1.4 series (basically the loading of the login page /should/ not trash the session regardless of login status). From what I know, this is still an issue in 1.4, especially if this hasn't been worked on since 1.2. Back to the original point though, it is possible for session id's to collide, the chances are very rare, and as PHP does file locking on the session file, it'd have to be timed in such a way to not be locked at the time of read/write, so it adds to the complexity of reproducibility. Although John's example of a single user hitting the same legitimate session file just by doing multiple simultaneous requests from different tabs/windows for a single login does seem like a potential problem... again, unless PHP's locking mechanism is file system-based. --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tell us your software development plans! I'm wondering if PHP is doing the trashing for "security" reasons. I'll have to take a peek of the code, but from a guess, it'd sound like the web server sees the user requesting the session file, but it has an internal store of "valid" sessions, and the session file there doesn't match one in the internal store of which sessions are valid... as such, it'd probably just "zap" it. Huh, well that would suck. It is not uncommon for PHP to be used in multiple-server environments, so I would not be surprised if either you are wrong, or PHP has a way to change this. A quick browse of the session page at php.net and Google turned up nothing much about how the internals work, but I am wondering if a crude application-side hack might be possible to further reduce the chances of this happening. This could be a starting point (although I have not looked at the code): http://phpclasses.promoxy.com/browse/package/1840.html But still, that would be code run past the failure point, so might not work at all... um, unless it could be written to access our own hacked up file system-based lock file over NFS or whatever. Yuck. Oh, here's another example that just came to mind. It didn't happen under SQM 1.2.x, but under 1.4.x with NFS-shared userprefs files, I observed the entire file being lost and started from scratch. I was able to cause this to happen a couple dozen times without finding out exactly what was causing it, but it seems consistent with what we've been discussing. That prompted a quick switch to SQL-based prefs. Wonder if this is because of how we are doing the preference files now. If I remember correctly, in the 1.2.x series, we just overwrite the preference file, in the 1.4.x series, we create a temporary file, then zap the real one, and rename the temporary file. I wonder if the unlink/rename code is being caught by file locking somehow. --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tell us your software development plans! Per that other thread, it might be a lot easier to throw your sessions and attachments dir onto a shared filesystem. The problem is that ,sometimes, users (using squirrelmail) receive mails twice instead once, I don't know why. I have disabled "creating extra directories" in squirrelmail, so I have just an "Inbox" folder in Squirrelmail, which is good for the users who will have access to the webmail. As Ean correctly noted, UW-IMAP is not compatible with maildir mail stores. If your SMTP server is really Qmail, it should be using maildir style mail store. At this point it sounds like you have really hosed your system - perhaps sendmail is running at the same time or something else funny is happening. Well, actually, Jared is doing all the work, I just keep find new and unique ways to break things. ;-) Since Squirrelmail uses the IMAP server to authenticate logins (good idea since it's connecting to the IMAP server) it allows username/password pairs to be in any form that the IMAP server accepts. This appears to be creating a problem for Squirrelmail user prefs info in certain cases. We (Sysmatrix.net) are moving from a really bad Windows based mail server to a combination of: PostFix Amavisd-New SpamAssassin ClamAV Courier IMAPd Courier POP3d Courier AuthDaemon SquirrelMail MySQL feeding info to ALL of it FYI, this plugin also works very well in that kind of system: http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=167 I first had SQM set up using file based user prefs in $data_dir while I was getting all the other pieces to work together. When it came time to get the per-user SA settings working I discovered that SQM would error out with a "Cannot open /user.pref.tmp" error. Not the fact that "/" is NOT my $data_dir. I still have no idea why that was happening. Cruise the mailing list archives and you will probably find a solution. I've seen this one on the lists before, and it wasn't that hard to track down IIRC. So, after a suggestion from Jared I did what I had been planning to do anyway. I went on and set up a squirrelmail database for user prefs and address books. That solved the problem but brough another to light. Courier IMAP is set up to allow login for our primary domain users as either "username+password" or "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". Why? This just makes things harder on you in the end IMO. The only place where users have to enter their username more than once is in webmail unless you have something else going on. If you use the vlogin plugin, it will automatically map "username" logins to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" for you so you can tighten up Courier. While working with Jared to try to make sure the Amavis per-user entries were always save as "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" we discovered that SQM *DOESN'T* follow this behavior. If a user comes to the SQM page and logs in as "blooglefarf" -- SQM creates user-pref entries in the squirrelmail database for "blooglefarf". If they make changes to settings from the options pages they are saved just fine. If that users comes back later and logs in as "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" SQM does *NOT* read their old prefs entries. It creates a NEW user in the database called "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" -- with all the default settings. Of course. How is SM supposed to know that's the same user? You should be using vlogin. http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=47 I've looked in the docs but I'm a bit addle headed from mail server tweaking right now. Would there be a way to get SQM, at the login page, to *either* add a default domain to any login submitted without one OR to strip the domain off of any user entry that DOES have one prior to passing he username info in for further processing? I want usernames to consistently have one form or the other so only one .pref file is created, and read, for each user but I cannot turn off the ability to log in either way in the Courier AuthDaemon because that would entail trying to explain to thousands of clueless users how to change the login settings in all of their various remote email clients. I have no idea what the problems of adding such a thing, but could it be? Problem is that there is no concept of the local file system with SM. SM is meant to be platform-independent, so it ONLY talks to the IMAP server. I didn't explain that very well. I am referring to the IMAP folders, not the local filesystem. The plugin isn't what I want. In Pine, I can go to the address book and setup each client with a FCC folder on the IMAP server. Keep in mind that Pine also has no real knowledge of the local filesystem. It is very similar to SQM in that regard. One does CTRL-T to browse the local filesystem similar to the BROWSE button in SQM. Then I'd say your only option is to set the sent folder to your desired target and possibly use variable sent folder plugin if that helps. But I understand that's not going to give you an *extra* copy of the message. You could hack the sent folder functionality to copy the message to both places, but you're on your own there. Try exporting a copy of that calendar, renaming it and uploading it as a differently named calendar that you can use to test... delete one event at a time until you figure out which one it is, then send the iCal source for it. RE: [SM-USERS] quicksave + IE5.0 + sm1.2.10
Victor, I just took a look at the quicksave init code (which is what will get run when you press the "Login" button) and there is hardly anything there. There is honestly no reason that I can see that Quicksave should be causing that error. Really. So I encourage you to do what I suggested in my earlier email - find out if quicksave works well without any other plugins installed, then add the others back one at a time. Sorry I don't have better news. ;> > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Victor > Gjeset > Sent: Thursday, December 12, 2002 12:50 AM > To: p dont think; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [SM-USERS] quicksave + IE5.0 + sm1.2.10 > > Hello again > > > > Hmmm. The upshot is set $debug = 0; > Sir, No need for the formalities. We're a lot friendlier than that around here - my tone in my last email may have been a little harsh, but I was frustrated... and again I *DID* respond to you, asking you four specific questions about things you didn't include in your email -- it is *you* who seems to have missed that post. Here it is again, although I will take a stab in the dark at what is wrong below that... Please tell me: 1. what is the username you want to be able to enter on the login page -- "jassa" or "marvin"? 2. you said "[EMAIL PROTECTED] is a vitual user for VMailMgr" -- sorry for my ignorance (never used qmail/vmailmgr), but does vmailmgr remap that for you? that is, where does your SM send its logins - to vmailmgr or directly to imap? If you need to have your login remapped automatically, you might need to use the sendmail style virtual user table, but I need to get a better feel for how your setup works before I shoot my mouth off... ;> 3. (related to number 2) what is the target username that vlogin should be constructing? marvin.bir.gov.ph and not [EMAIL PROTECTED]? 4. what is the URL that you will use to get to your login page (feel free to use an example if you don't want to post real information) > I created a system user named "bintut" who now owns the two virtual > users that I created namely "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". Not sure what bintut has to do with it. But I assume you currently can log in with a username of "[EMAIL PROTECTED] " or "[EMAIL PROTECTED] ", and would rather log in as "jassa " or "gigi ", right?? > I extracted the vlogin-2.5.tar.gz plugin that you sent to me at > /var/www/html/squirrelmail-1.2.9/plugins/ directory and add it in my > configuration. You need to turn it off (set to zero) and if "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" is the correct login (I think you said it is), then you should be set. That setting is only for debugging (thus the name) and is the cause of what you call an "error" (that's not an error!). > [1] ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT > Virtual Domain - accounting.bir.gov.ph > Virtual Users - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 1) > - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 2) Just set $numberOfDotSections = 3 and $removeFromFront = 1 Hope that helps - paul --- This sf.net email is sponsored by: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance Computing Channel http://hpc.devchannel.org/ -- squirrelmail-users mailing list List Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users
RE: [SM-USERS] Multiple domains + Apache + SSL + SM
Very sorry for the delayed response. Things are crazy busy lately... As I've said previously, it is a complete mystery to me why you'd not be getting your username set even in webmail.php. In fact, it *has* to be set to get your mail. So here is yet another debug version of webmail that does the same kind of output, but this time a few more times for good measure. I am beginning to wonder if it isn't actually Zend that is screwing this up...?? Is there an easy way for you to turn it off and try SM? > -Original Message- > From: Lilla [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Saturday, December 07, 2002 5:02 PM > To: p dont think > Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [SM-USERS] Multiple domains + Apache + SSL + SM > > > Well then... it appears your SM installation isn't setting the username > > in the place I expected it would. RE: [SM-USERS] A newbie needs help
It looks like vlogin did its job to me. Hmmm. You told me that setting debug=1 gives you this: > - - - < s n i p > - - - > Your IMAP login was resolved to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > - - - < s n i p > - - - and you said that logging in manually with that exact same address works: > As I've said, I can login using "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" but with "jassa" > only, I can't. so I'm not sure why you're getting a login error. I am correct that the address vlogin creates is the same, right? For some reason it doesn't seem to be passing that same value to IMAP. Can you try cutting and pasting the username that you get from vlogin when debug=1, then turning debug off, then pasting that (full) username into the login... (you are using the same password, right?) what happens if you do it that way? --- This sf.net email is sponsored by: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance Computing Channel http://hpc.devchannel.org/ -- squirrelmail-users mailing list List Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users

It's like doing this: > > echo $a; > $a = 15; However, the session should have already been started in redirect.php, so in fact, that shouldn't be an issue (although it clearly seems that that *is* the issue - Jonathan, do you know of any reason why the session would not start in redirect or somehow get terminated between there and webmail?). I am using session.auto_start = 1 in my php.ini settings, perhaps yours is = 0? This could be an issue, although again, it *shouldn't* be an issue, since the session is explicitly started in redirect.php. Run this command from you main SquirrelMail directory if you would: grep -Rn session_start * What does it give you? Specifically, there is a line in src/redirect.php, no? I've attached a debug version of redirect.php that should temporarily replace the one in the /src directory. Log in using that file and let me know what you see. The next thing I can do is start the session in the vlogin plugin by testing if the current requested URI is "webmail.php"... that would be something of a hack, but not terrible. I'd rather understand why your session isn't starting where it should be before I do that, though. Let me know, paul redirect.tar.gz Description: Binary data
RE: [SM-USERS] Multiple domains + Apache + SSL + SM
Lilla - Here is hopefully what should solve this problem once and for all. The only difference is in setup.php, but here's the whole new tarball for good measure. RE: [SM-USERS] A newbie needs help
Three things: You included the IP address of your SMTP server, which is dangerous, since any mail to this list is archived and open for public viewing on many different archive sites -- I trust your SMTP server is secured from outside connections with auth mechanisms, but next time, you might want to remove that info from your emails. :> Also, you have your data and attachments directories set up as: $data_dir = '../data/'; $attachment_dir = "../attachments/"; It would be wise to move these outside the htdocs tree (put them in a directory not accessible through apache, like for instance, /var/squirrelmail or something like that). Finally, the vlogin problem: It appears that you have a blank line at the end of the vlogin/config.php file. There should not be. The file should end with "?>" and have NO LINE FEEDS after that!! Please fix that and try it again -- if that doesn't fix your problem, please let me know. RE: [SM-USERS] [Help] Compose a message.
Try the quicksave plugin. It will help remember your last compose screen if you accidentally close it (but won't help if you type a wrong address -- in such a case, you can get the message text when your email server returns the email to you. http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=8 > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Test > Account > Sent: Tuesday, December 17, 2002 8:22 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [SM-USERS] [Help] Compose a message. > > > Hi guys. > > My users and I have same problem when compose a message. > > After fill out each fields, let's assume if I type wrong email address or > I hit the "back" or "forward" button by mistake. > If I typed wrong local email address, it say wrong email address. > After back to original page, I have to re-type all the message again! > > I can guess this is security feature but all other webmail doesn't do like > this. RE: [SM-USERS] A newbie needs help
Hmmm. OK. It seems that you *are* getting an IMAP connection with vlogin, so the problem is with something else - not actually logging in. Try, just in case, using your original redirect.php just to see if it works with vlogin. In the meantime, I will try to get another one sent to you by tomorrow. [SM-USERS] Trouble running SM off of non-standard URL
eeiw. It looks like at the end of this email you got vlogin to work but that SM choked on the URL. I am not entirely sure why, since your apache alias seems appropriate. I am forwarding this to the SM users list for input from others. Folks, William and I have been tussling with getting vlogin to work for a URL that looks like: https://main.domain.com/virtual.domain.net/mail We got vlogin working (it appears), but now SM is freaking out when it gets to webmail.php because of this kind of URL scheme. Does anyone have any idea as to what's happening here? Failed opening '/var/www/secure.csz.com/secure.csz.com/mail/functions/page_header.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/display_messages.php on line 99 William, if no one else does, I can start debugging webmail.php with you... If you are willing to wait a few days, I will be adding a new feature where each user can set the size themselves -- I can send you the new version as soon as I have finished it. RE: [SM-USERS] Spam Filter Plugins w/o installing software
Read about how to configure your mail server to take care of it. That is a better way to do it than via SquirrelMail plugins anyway. You'll probably want to ask your questions on a mailing list that deals with your particular mail server (postfix/sendmail/etc), although people here might be able to give you some pointers. RE: [SM-USERS] Automatically close compose window on send?
Ummm, I *think* someone recently did a mod for the Quicksave plugin (see the compose section of the plugins) so that the "cancel" button closes the compose window. I think the last release of Quicksave I put up includes that function, however, it does not include the nice little hack that that person also had that closed the compose window after sending. That is a change in the SM source, so you either have to do the same hack or beg the developers to make that change. > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Danny > Horne > Sent: Tuesday, December 31, 2002 1:57 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [SM-USERS] Automatically close compose window on send? > > Hi all, > > I've got 'Always compose in a new window' set to 'yes', which suits me fine, > but would it be possible to set Squirrelmail to close the window when an > email has been sent / replied to? > > Thanks, & a happy new year > > > -- > To do is to be -- Nietzsche > To be is to do -- Sartre > Scooby do be do -- Scooby > > > > > > --- > This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek > Welcome to geek heaven. > http://thinkgeek.com/sf > -- > squirrelmail-users mailing list > List Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 > List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users --- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf -- squirrelmail-users mailing list List Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users

(cc'd to sm-users) First of all, I hope you've grabbed the version I released last week from the SM website - it has some fixes that might be more recent than what you have. Second, please give more information about the error you get when you are unable to log in. Since SM is web-based, the location of your web browser should not cause different behaviors shouldn't ;-) Are you using the exact same URL in the address bar in all browsers? If you turn on $debug=1 and try it from different locations, what results do you get? Are they different? I won't be on email tomorrow, but will reply ASAP on Friday if someone else hasn't already. [SM-USERS] RE: vlogin questions
(cc'd to SM-users) Thanks for the accolades! There is no functionality like that in vlogin now... I never personally bothered with the look and feel of the login page and wasn't really aware that it could be changed. If there is a way to do that using any regular SM settings, then they surely could be adapted to vlogin. I suppose the easy thing might be to allow the setting of the $colors array from vlogin, although there would be a question of whether or not it should stay beyond the login page. Hmmm. In one of the betas for the weather 4.x plugin, this problem existed, but it was fixed in the final release. You say it might be weather... if it's the regular weather plugin, did you get the most recent one from the SM site? (please remember to reply to the SM-USERS list) Can you try moving the other versions of global.php out of the SM tree just in case? What did you change in the version of global you are currently using? I suspect that the code might not specifically be calling functions in one of the other versions, but that there might be an include buried somewhere that still is trying to pull in src/global.php or something like that. RE: [SM-USERS] TWC Weather problem
Huh. Not sure what that would be. Have you tried turning on display_errors=On and set your error level to E_ALL? Does it show errors then? Also, try setting RG=Off for the fun of it... does it work? > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Dan > HINCKLEY > Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 6:40 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [SM-USERS] TWC Weather problem > > Seems to be loaded and installed properly, but when I click on "New" to > create a location, I get only a blank screen, no error message. RE: [SM-USERS] Bug Report
Sounds like you're just getting warnings that can probably be ignored. If you don't think so, please send some samples. I would strongly advise that on your production server, you make sure that display_errors=Off in your php.ini. > -Original Message- > From: Gil Collins [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 3:22 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [SM-USERS] Bug Report > > The problem is that no matter what order or what plugins I try to add from > those below eventually I get the error its no specific plugin. > > It is a warning but it prints out all over the any pages that are obtained > by using the top menu such as "Compose", "Addresses", "Folders", etc... > > SquirrelMail seems to still work just fine except for about 30 of those > warnings being repeated over and over again on the page. > > It also happens whether I use the administrator plugin to add the plugins > or the conf.pl . > > Hope this helps. > > > Please be a little more descriptive than "When Trying to add plugins". > > You get the error after adding a plugin?
