that's right
some of my favorite plugins behave this way, such like "address_add" &
"empty trash"

but that's NOT the case here, i am talking about those which should be
shown in options pages

a screen shot should state my question clearer, but i don't know if this
is allowed with maillisting

if you are interested, just try to enable more plugins yourself and see if
you can find them ALL in options pages

from what i got here, i can't get more than 10 items

here it is :

redhat7.1
apache-1.3.22-5.7.1
php-4.1.2-7.1.6
squirrelmail1.29

i hope these information help to find and solve the problem, but i do NOT
want to update any of them RIGHT NOW unless it's ABSOLUTELY the ONLY way

so, any advice other than "try to update this or that" is welcomed, thanks
in advance

i had the same problem with 1.2.9/1.2.10 on redhat7.3

i think it's caused by language setting cause i have no problem with
english, but as long as some user changes the language to chinese, the
problem occurs

don't know how to fix it yet ...

[SM-USERS] WTK: How to Backup and Restore the Addresses Data for each mail user

2005-03-23 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I have installed Fedora Core 3 and I'm using all the default software in
the linux compilation.

I am able to migrate the mail files from the /home/(user) folders but I
have not been able to find the location of the personal settings data or
especially the Address Data saved by each user. It doesn't seem to be
stored in the user directory and I haven't found it in the
/usr/share/squirrelmail directory.

I've tried
grep -R "known data string" /usr/share/squirrelmail
to see if I could find any file that might contain a piece of data known
to be part of the addresses saved by a user. I've had no luck.

Thanks for any help on the issue.
Chris

[SM-USERS] Re: Load Balancing and session side effect

2005-05-12 Thread email builder
HI,

We are a small biz that wants to start implementing clustering of our
services, but not sure if LVS is necessary just yet. We are starting with
just two boxes with both HTTPD/SquirrelMail and MTA/IMAP on both boxes with
NFS-based backend on a 3rd machine. We'll put all mail spools and SM data
dirs and PHP sessions (file-based) on the NFS machine.

Our question is if there will be any problems to consider starting out with
a DNS round-robin load balancing instead of more complex LVS stuff?

yes, LVS finds out if there are problems with apache and takes the
server with problems out of production.

If I have more than one IMAP server (at least on different machines), then
how else do I point all IMAP servers to the mail spool beside
NFS/GFS/AFS/etc? The connection from clients (SM, etc) to IMAP will of
course be regular IMAP connections/protocol. Eventually, we have our eye on
Perdition to help load balance IMAP connections.

Wow, must be nice to have that kind of money. :) How does a _switch_ know
how to maintain session data for the _application_ layer in _front_ of a web
server?? Sounds nice anyway. :)

Wow, OK, thanks for clarifying. Hadn't really read up on it yet, but will
certainly do so given what you say here.

Yeah, that's the first thing on our list once we take the next step, so I'm
glad to hear someone reaffirm it. Don't really like IMAP/SMTP/HTTP on the
same server but we're stuck there for now. One possibility given the other
response today is that maybe it's OK to run just one IMAP server on our NFS
machine where the mail spool is. Our front-end HTTP/SMTP servers would
reduce their load a bit, as long as we don't kill the NFS server

Thanks again!

All, this is really OT, but we are now looking at our first LVS system and
are wondering if we can get some recommendations from people about their
favorite setups. We are currently leaning toward a system that includes:

Ideas, links, thoughts really appreciated!

[SM-USERS] Login Twice

2005-06-23 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I am using SquirrelMail version 1.4.4. Can someone please confirm whether
having to login twice (once to login to server, another to login to
squirrelmail, is a misconfiguration or a feature of SquirrelMail. Thanks
very much.

Sorry, just for clarity, these are the exact steps I took:

- wiped out my squirrelmail gpg prefs directory in the data directory so I
can start from scratch (I had previously generated and used GPG keys entirely
through the GPG plugin and it worked great)
- generated my own keypair from my linux command line:
- ran this command to get my private key:
gpg --export-secret-subkeys -a
- used the GPG plugin to "import from text" and pasted the PGP PRIVATE KEY
BLOCK in and saved
- so far, so good, the plugin recognized my private key so I think it's good
- sent my public key to a friend
- my friend sent me an encrypted message and I was able to decrypt it just
fine! YAY!
- tried to send a GPG-signed message and it barfed. the error is above.
- what did I do wrong? I don't see anything else I can do in the GPG plugin
configuration to fix this???
- FWIW, I am using the same keypair with thunderbird and it works just fine,
although I imported it by actually copying my pubring.gpg and secring.gpg
files to my Windows machine instead of exporting my secret key

TIA!

[SM-USERS] getting http header correct...

2005-08-25 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi all,

Using SM 1.4.5 on Mac OS X 10.3.9 (darwin), and running it off EIMS
server 3.x - works great. I have SM installed in the root web dir,
inside a folder called 'webmail,' so any of our users from any one of
our many hosted email domains can go to 'mail.userDomain.com/webmail'
and get directed to the SM login page.

However, when a user gets redirected to the SM login page, the
'mail.userDomain.com' displayed in the web browser gets changed to
'mail.myDomain.com' (which is the hostname of the machine) for the
rest of the squirrelmail session.

Now email works just fine, but is there any way to get SM to retain
this HTTP header info through the redirect, and through the whole
email session, so that the user will see their own domain in the
browser URL, and not ours?

Thanks to any takers!

Yes, this was the problem, thank you. However, you might consider making
this more clear in the instructions. Also, the fact that after I uploaded
ONLY my private key the interface listed it under BOTH the private and public
keyrings, I assumed it had everything it needed. It should only have showed
up under the private keyring and maybe I would have figured it out on my
own

[SM-USERS] The page cannot be displayed error

2006-08-14 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
When I try to put messages in the trash, this is what I get:

I get a very similar deal with Horde, when I login, but there I don't
even get to my mailbox.

Anything I need to do with SquirrelMail so I don't get this message
anymore and that my messages are dumped properly?

Not unless you actually post associated log events and show your
related config files. You might also approach the maildrop mailing
list since it seems like the problem is there and not with the plugin,
which only creates the messages (but you might first do some more
research and I'll bet you can solve the problem with tips already on
that mailing list).

Note that the OP is not using the vacation program. She is using
courier maildrop, with mailbot to do the autoresponding, at least if
she used the same configuration suggested by the plugin README.

I am using a small script called YAA Yet another autoresponder.

it's small easy to get working ou just need to write some sort of interface
to
add/modify vacation messages as they can be stored in mysql.

I did a small pluggin for sq mail based on an existing pluggin.

let me know if this can interest people.

[SM-USERS] help with Yaa autoresponder Postfix Virtual Users + MySQL + Yaa

2006-09-20 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Postfix 2.3.3
courier
squirrelmail 1.4.8
mysql 5
Yaa-0.3

Postfix virtual user system works fine. Then Yaa-0.3 was set up
according to http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_yaa.
table mysql_transport (domain,destination) (mydomain.com
yaa:127.0.0.1:4)
table virtual (email,destination)( [EMAIL PROTECTED]

table autoresponder_data (address,local_domains)
([EMAIL PROTECTED],mydomain.com)

But when I test. send mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] to

expected result: [EMAIL PROTECTED] gets a mail from genco,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] gets a auto response email.
actual result: Nothing happened.

Hi,

> /etc/postfix/main.cf

I am not sure if this is the problem, but I would like to suggest
you to see if Postfix accepts this syntax. Here, my limit is written
in bytes, like documentation. Just for curiosity, that "s" in "limits"
is a typo?

 From postifx documentation ( site www.postfix.org )

message_size_limit (default: 1024)

The maximal size in bytes of a message, including envelope information.

 Thank you.

If you think ( get some evidence ) Postfix has a problem (I have
my doubts), I would like to suggest a visit to postfix.org and their
maillist. Maybe it is more appropriate.

Anyway, I would like to suggest you a visit to
http://squirrelmail.org/wiki/AttachmentSize. Maybe it can help you or
give you some more guidance.

Maybe not effective or good solution, but I am testing
fail2ban.org, with sshd, and I saw a reference ( in their website)
about using it with Squirrelmail.

I have never tested fail2ban before, even with sshd, so I don't
know if it is a good solution.

I hope my email help more than it spend bits. :-)

Great. Thank you for your attention.

I already have fail2ban running to protect a ssh server. Until
now ( just 1 day ), it is running ok.

I am still learning. Just now, I am waiting. It has banned my ip
( my fault ). :-D

I will use your rules to protect squirrelmail too. :-) I already
use squirrel_logger. :-)

 Thank you.

[SM-USERS] Lockout plugin does not send notificiation email

2008-03-07 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi,

I am having a problem with lockout-1.4-1.4.1 plugin.
Problem: the email to 'postmaster' ( configured in
lockout/data/config.php) is not being sent when there is a lockout.

My configs:

Active plugins ( in this order ).

bookmarks 2.0.3-1.4.1
msg_flags-1.4.10-1.4.3
change_pass-2.7a-1.4.x
lockout-1.4-1.4.1
squirrel_logger-2.0-1.2.7 ( docs ask to let it at the end of plugins list )

I am using compatibility-2.0.10-1.0 plugin ( not activated )

php 5.2.5
apache 2.2.8
Slackware 12.0.0
squirrelmail 1.4.13 ( Installed from squirrelmail site sources )

I am using $max_login_attempts= '3:6:30', not IP or CAPTCHA activated ( = '' ).

Squirrel_logger is working correctly in the same context, I mean, it
sends emails when there is "spam abuse suspect", to postmaster, and
logs to syslog correctly.

No errors in /var/log/httpd/error.log.

User is being blocked after 3 failure login attempts ( not tested
automatic unblocking by time ).
If I remove the correct line from
lockout_plugin_login_failure_information.pref, user is authorized to
login, imediately.
When user is blocked, it can not login and the "access denied" message
is displayed.

Until now I didn't notice any other problem with my Squirrelmail.

So, everything appears to be working as expected, except for the
missing notification email.

Could anybody give some hints?

Thank you.

Regards,

Freitas

Sorry for delaying my answer ( health problems - still "recovering" ).

 Problem remains.

 I did:

-Update Lockout plugin ( removed the old and fresh installed the
new ). Version now: 1.5
-Update Compatibility plugin ( removed the old and fresh installed
the new). Version now: 2.0.11 ( not activated)
-Captcha Version 1.1 is installed, but NOT active and NOT used by lockout.
-Squirrel_logger NOT updated. I included LOCKOUT event in its configuration.

When an user violates the Lockout condition (3:6:30), a message is
logged as configured and user is locked as expected. Squirrel_logger
continues to log messages as configured, but there is no e-mail about
Lockout violation.

I don't know if it matters, but, my Squirrelmail is configured to
use SMTPS, port 465 and to authenticate to SMTP server as the user
that logged to squirrelmail/imap ( I mean: user bob logged at
squirrelmail and squirrelmail use bob to autenticate to the smtp
server to send messages).

What can I do to help you to find the answer?

 Thank you for your attention.

Regards,

Freitas

Apache2 is not reccomended for SquirrelMail according to http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/SquirrelMailRequirements

"
Note: While Apache2 is available (and being shipped by default with Red Hat
Linux) the SquirrelMail development team does not recommend
the use of Apache2 with SquirrelMail at this time.

  delay question
  Dear All,

I recently upgraded from RedHat 7.2 to 8.0 (fresh
install, same hardware), using all RH-supplied versions of PHP (4.2.2), Apache
  (2.0.40) and SM.
I immediately noticed that upon signon to SM (any
recent 1.2.x version) it takes a really long time to login (1 minute or more)
  - but eventually will come up OK. This did not happen under the older
versions. IMAP logins from other clients works fine. Same with any browser I
tried from different local or remote machines.

Does anyone have a fix for this
  issue?
  Thanks
  Uli

Nope. I was hoping for the tarball with ALL the plugins to be updated so I

RE: [SM-USERS] Updated plugins tarball please?

2003-03-10 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
list, I'm sorry - I keep forgetting to cc the list. :-(

There already is one. It's just old, and out of date:

http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugins/squirrelmail_plugins-20010604.zip
http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugins/squirrelmail_plugins-20010604.tar

So, I'd like to see the tarball (I don't care about the zip file) of all the
plugins, updated to current. A crontab entry and a small script file could
do this weekly, automatically.

And, I'm sure that I'm not the only new person who'd like to see this.

For some reason sendmail is using the format [EMAIL PROTECTED]

it is set to domaint.com.
I gave up and changed the name of the server to domain.com. So it works
fine now, i.e. no name, just the domain name as name.

[SM-USERS] Multiple Mail accounts

2003-06-12 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hello squirrelmail-users,

I'll describe what I want to do first :

I have 7 email accounts, all pop3 or imap based. (fe.
[EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED])

I want to create one account on my linux box wich fetches all the mail
from those accounts (fetchmail) and drops them local on a
postfix/cyrus imap setup. This should not be a lot of trouble, but I
want to be able to access thie huge imap mailbox with squirrelmail.

Is is possible to use multiple outgoing senders with squirrelamil ?

I want mail that gets filtered and sorted in my [EMAIL PROTECTED] box,
when I reply on such a mail, it should have [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the FROM
field, and not the default account , idem with all my other addresses.

Is squirrelmail capable of doing such a thing ?

Thanks,

Pieterjan Heyse

I'm in the process of setting up user accounts and setting style sheets to

[SM-USERS] Setup SM for http://www.domainname.com/webmail

2003-09-07 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello all,

I am new to configuring webmail applications and working with root files.

I host various website and really would like everyone to only use
SquirrelMail and not Neo or Hoarde.

I read through the install/seup docs and am still not clear on how to
proceed. If I have existing SM, Hoarde and Neo already installed, how to
get rid of the other ones from the http://domainname.com/webmail window?

When I login to my Cpanel Account, I see all 3 but for other people
hosting, they only see Neo and Hoarde.

Thank you,
Adria

[SM-USERS] HTML Mail plug-in

2003-09-16 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I have istalled the HTML Mail plug-in on Squirrelmail 1.4.2.
I have setted the option "Show HTML Version by default" to "YES" and "Email
Composition Format" to "HTML".

The problem is that when I receive the message in Squirrelmail or any of e-mail
clients, it is not displayed in HTML but in PLAIN TEXT whith tags, something like this:
HELLO

I supose is something wrong with the message format because when I View the message's
full header I see that the content type is text/plain and not text/html even if I have
setted the option "Email Composition Format" to "HTML":
"Content-Type: text/plain;charset=iso-8859-1"

When I compose an HTML message from another mail client, it is displayed correctly in
HTML in Squirrelmail so nothing is wrong with displaying HTML.

What's wrong?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english :)
Josephin

[SM-USERS] View Unsafe Images and Printer Friendly View

2003-10-28 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I've noticed that the "View Unsafe Images" link does not notice if it is
inside the Printer Friendly view or not. If you are in a printer fiendly
window and click the "view unsafe images" link, it will refresh the page as a
normal message view, not printer firendly.

This is pretty easy to replicate, so email me if you have questions.

Just seems to be one of those small things that's not quite right...but
otherwise SquirrelMail is doing really well.

[SM-USERS] Error log for IMAP login within SM?

2004-02-25 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hello,

Is there a way to find out what Squirrelmail is getting returned from the IMAP login
process? An error message or
something? I am having a devil of a time figuring this out.

I clearly have IMAP support turned on in PHP, as a trip to www.mairhtin.com would show
(phpinfo)

There appear to be no logs for IMAP in any place that I can find, but I'm still
looking.

I hate to be a bore about this, but IMAP appears to be working correctly on the

I'm really quite perplexed about this.

Re: [SM-USERS] Re: Error log for IMAP login within SM?

2004-02-25 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Well,

I looked in /var/log/maillog and grepped for imap, and there appear to be no errors when using webmail, and setting an outlook account to be imap based and querying email works just fine.

It really does seem to be a SM only problem.

Can someone point me to the code that triggers the error page :

ERROR

Unknown user or password incorrect.

Go to the login page

I have uninstalled SM and re-installed it just to be certain that I hadn't messed something up, and it's STILLL giving me the error page.

HEAVY sigh.

Re: [SM-USERS] Re: Error log for IMAP login within SM?

2004-02-26 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Jonathan,

Thanks for looking at this. I downgraded to an earlier version, and that solved the problem. That doesn't mean that the problem doesn't still exist, naturally, but I'm over the hump in terms of getting a server up and running.

Let me apologize for the lack of log entries. There appear to be no errors in the log entries when SM makes an attempt to connect. At least I cannot see them. When I connect from OUTLOOK, the following occurs in the logs :

Feb 25 12:47:01 mail2 imapd[6376]: imap service init from 67.117.74.178

Feb 25 12:47:01 mail2 imapd[6376]: Login user=kenm host=adsl-67-117-74-178.dsl.sntc01.pacbell.net [67.117.74.178]

Feb 25 12:47:02 mail2 imapd[6376]: Command stream end of file, while reading line user=kenm host=adsl-67-117-74-178.dsl.sntc01.pacbell.net [67.117.74.178]

When I connect using SM 1.4___ the following occur:

Feb 25 11:51:04 mail2 imapd[5899]: Missing command before authentication host=mail2.techsolutionsgroupllc.com [127.0.0.1]

Feb 25 11:51:04 mail2 imapd[5899]: Autologout host=mail2.techsolutionsgroupllc.com [127.0.0.1]

Feb 25 11:51:04 mail2 imapd[5899]: Logout user=??? host=mail2.techsolutionsgroupllc.com [127.0.0.1]

I hope that helps a little. I certainly want to get this resolved and move up to 1.4 of SM, but the pressure is off of me now and that's a good thing. :)

I had uninstalled and re-installed SM 1.4 and used the standard configuration (with org titles changed, for example) so what more would you like to know about my configuration? I have to do some things this weekend, and will not be working on this server for a few days, but I now have a test server to play with at length to sort this out. For the record, I have the UW IMAP server installed (it comes with RH 8 & 9) and have done nothing with it other than to install it when I installed the OS.

I will certainly search the archives for LOGINDISABLED, likely tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you for all your help in this, I *KNOW* I've been a pain. It's just that we're under such pressure the last few months, our clients all wanting to abandon SBC because of all the email atrocities that have been occurring. Now we have big-guns servers installed and operational and I can take a breather and sort this stuff out in a controlled fashion.

Thanks again

Mairhtin

[SM-USERS] serversidefilters plugin,

2004-03-03 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi,

Serversidefilters plugin version 1.32, squirrelmail 1.4.2, apache 1.3.26 and
php 4.3.4, qmail/vpopmail/courier-imap, maildrop on debian stable.

When the serversidefilters plugin goes to en/decrypt domain passwords, I get
this error message:

>>>>
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: vadmin_rc4_crypt()
in /var/www/squirrelmail-1.4.2/plugins/serversidefilter/backend.php on line
420
<<<<

(line 420 when encrypting, 423 is when decrypting)

The offending file is at http://feayn.org/backend.txt

Now, lines 420-23 are controlled by
>>>>
if ($MCRYPT_ALGO == 'rc4_builtin')
<<<<
the 'else' to that if seems to open the specified mcrypt module and en/decrypt
the input using that, bypassing lines 420-423 entirely. But but I get this
error regardless of whether I set MCRYPT_ALGO to 'rc4_builtin' or 'blowfish'
or whatever.

My questions are:

* Where/how should I define vadmin_rc4_crypt()
* Why does php still die on lines 420-423 when the selection of an MCRYP_ALGO
other than 'rc4_builtin' should bypass it?

Sorry if this is plainly obvious, I'm totally new to php. Google has not been
my friend on this one.

Cheers,
L

[SM-USERS] Free Shipping for certain methods

2004-05-21 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hello,

I am interested in allowing for free shipping over a set amount for only
UPS ground.

When i enable the "allow free shipping" in the "order total" module, it
apples to all shipping methods.

Is there a way to have this only apply to ups ground, and have all other
methods charged? Any comments / suggestions?

Using the latest MS2, Thanks

can read items in an exchane public folder fine.

Here is an example when I try to move an email to a public folder:

ERROR : Could not complete request.
Query: COPY 40199 "Public Folders/Helpdesk/Christopher"
Reason Given: [REFERRAL
imap://ceverett;[EMAIL PROTECTED]/Public%20Folders/Helpdesk/Christopher]
There is no replica for that mailbox on this server.

If I try to delete an email in a public folder, I get a similar error (it
cannot copy the item to my deleted items folder). But, in this errors case, I
can get around it by turning off the option of having deleted items go to the
trash folder. Just deleting the item out-right works fine.

How I read the error message is that it is looking for the public folder
within my mailbox rather than knowing it is a seperate information store. It
seams to read it fine, but when it tries to span from my mailbox in the
private information soter into or from the public, I get the error. Am I
interprating it correctly?

Doea anyone kow of a fix for this? Does anyone else out there use SM with
Exchange 5.5 and use exchange public folders? If so, do you have this problem
also?

Any help would be appreciated. This is the only main complaint I have with SM
and it is the only issue that keeps it from being a great solution for my
company.

Thanks.
Christopher Everett

Okay, ini_get is PHP and is probably looking for a (non-existent?)
php.ini file on my system. Anyone know where Mandrake's PHP looks? I'll
probably have to create one.

Solved! There is a /etc/php/ directory for the various module ini
files. Mandrake appears to have a completely separate RPM for the
/etc/php.ini file.

Set the "safe_mode" off, restart apache, and the Timezone option
magically appears.

Thanks, all...

[SM-USERS] Can not view mail index in dense folders

2005-01-14 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi all,
I just started using squirrelmail (moved from horde/imp) and one thing I
noticed is squirrelmail gives me a blank page when I try to view a folder
with very large number of mails (somewhere around 2000 it fails). I have
1.4.4 rc1 and courier imap. I have searched net for answer but couldn't
find anything relevant.

Has anybody experienced this before? or any idea howto fix it? Could this
be a problem with max_execution_time in php?

Thanks in advance for any pointers.
Please forgive me if this is already asked and answered.

[SM-USERS] images button plugin doesn't work

2005-02-04 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I'm trying to use images buttons plugin with Squirrelmail 1.4.4
It looks like ok, I can see the options to choose if I want or not the icon
instead of the plan text.
But even if I choose to see the icons, nothing happens. I can only see the text.

I've already check if php gd support is enable, and it is.

Thanks for the help

Sorry for the later response
i saw part of the issue
when i copied the last option.php you gave me it brought a select
statement which i copied into mysql
gave me an empty set
on looking at the name it was [EMAIL PROTECTED] (what i use to log in with
SM into courier)
removing the domain name brought up the required result

que
how in Sm can i log in with user name that will corespond to the
[EMAIL PROTECTED], ie logging in with user or is ther another solution
Thanks

RE: [SM-USERS] User change password with Vpopmail

2002-11-22 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
you just have to install vpopmail correctly and the plug in made available
by paul :) will allow the password change without any problem
vpopmail install can be found at www.inter7.com and forums are also there
if you are having any errors during install

[SM-USERS] LDAP personal addressbook for loged user

2015-03-09 Thread ambruska (email)
Hi all,
I would like to set LDAP addressbook in squirrelmail the way, that each user
can see only his
personal addressbook stored in LDAP server. I searched the web and still didnot
find the
solution.

I mean, that user "lets say" TEST loged in squirrelmail could see only his
private adressess
stored in "cn=TEST,ou=personal,ou=contacts,dc=my,dc=domain".

Is there any filter or search_expression I can set in configuration of LDAP
addressbook
taht can compare login name and password of logged user to LDAP ?
Or something else, that solve my needs.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Lubos

[SM-USERS] Cookies on FireFox Problem

2008-01-30 Thread SquirrelMail Email List

Hello All,

I've done some searching and have not found an answer...

The system work fine (so far) except when you try to log in with FireFox
(any version on Win98 or XP). If you have your FireFox set up to "ask me
every time" for cookies, when you get to the login screen FireFox will NOT
ask you to accept the cookie. So you put in your login and password and
you get "Error You must be logged in to access this page."

If you go into FireFox and and added the "allow" cookies for your
squirrelmail web site, it work as it should.

I do not have this problem with IE ver6.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Ken

William,

How stupid we feel...

Nice of FireFox to block that on a domain basis rather than a machine

Anyway that worked.

[SM-USERS] Change password plugin...

2008-02-04 Thread SquirrelMail Email List

Hello,

I installed the Change SQL Password, Version 3.3-1.2 on my SquirrelMail
ver 1.4.9a-2 (Debian etch). I also installed the Compatibility plugin
Version 2.0.9 and put in the bit of code to make that work.

I put in both plugins in the conf script (squirrelmail-configure on
Debian).

Anyway I'm wondering, where do you find the button or whatever that is
used to change your password once inside your mail box.

I hope this is not a stupid question but looking around I just could not
fine it.

Thanks,

Ken

Re: [SM-USERS] Change password plugin...

2008-02-04 Thread SquirrelMail Email List

Well I might have figured out where to change it but in the process I get
the error "Fatal error: Call to undefined function md5crypt() in
/usr/share/squirrelmail/plugins/change_sqlpass/functions.php on line 668"

I can see the md5crypt.php file in the same directory but it does not find
the function inside this file.

I believe I should be using "MD5CRYPT" because that is what the config
file for postfixadmin says it is using.

Thanks for the help,

Ken

[SM-USERS] Spell checking

2008-08-13 Thread SquirrelMail Email List

Hello,

We just upgraded SM from 1.4.9 to 1.4.15 and now when we compose a email
there is no red underline under a miss-spelled word. I seem to remember
that when you miss-spelled a word it put a red line under the word and you
could right click on that word and select the proper spelling.

It no longer does this. Could someone give me a hint on where to look to
correct this problem. Is this controlled in the squirrelspell plugin?

Thanks,

Ken

Marc,

Your right. It is Firefox that is doing that. I was on a different machine
and did not realize that Firefox was set up to do that. I always thought SM
was doing that. No wonder I could not find it in SM. It was driving me
nuts looking for it.

Thanks,

Ken

[SM-USERS] Moderation Plug-in (or feasibility)

2004-05-03 Thread Ziemba, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
My employer (a School District) is looking to implement a webmail solution
for our students. The catch is, the student's must be moderated.

My hope is to use SquirrelMail as the webmail interface.

Does anyone know of a plug-in (incase I missed it), or a means that a user
(student) can be grouped with another user (teacher) and have all of their
outgoing mail moderated?

I saw that plug-in, however by the time the person who received the CC reads
their email the student already sent their profanity to everyone in their
address list which would defeat the integrity of the system (and definitely
make the front page of the local section). The system needs to queue the
message for delivery until such time the appropriate admin (teacher) for
that sender releases the message for delivery.

The SMTP server will most likely be Postfix. I could have the SMTP server
queue all outgoing mail, however that would be a huge learning curve as we
have about 4000 teachers each with their own students. The goal (if
possible) is to use MySQL as the authentication engine for SquirrelMail.
Within the database structure have an extra field that would associate the
student account with a teacher. When a student attempts to send an outgoing
message the system would instead of delivering via SMTP would move the
message to a folder in the teacher's mailbox (maybe using IMAP). The
teacher would then sign into SquirrelMail and be able to review the students
messages and then send them out.

My thoughts were to save the message draft (when the student hits Send) into
the Teachers mailbox. The teacher should be able to open the outgoing
message (in draft form) which would have the student's From: information.
When the teacher approves the message and hits Send, it would be delivered
as normal (with the student's information as the reply-to). Any messages
send back to the student would be delivered directly to the student.

The secondary goal (after moderation) is automation. I really don't want to
field phone calls from 4000+ teacher regarding message delivery/moderation.
My hopes were that someone may have already done something along these
lines. However it is looking more like I will get my hands into the code
and fashion the routines accordingly or in a brighter side determine how to
write a module that accomplishes this feat.

So is this the final word on this problem? We are having the same problem

Thanks for your hard work. Is there a way to check our code that is on our
servers so we can check to see if we do have "Compromised" code. If it is
compromised we need to have our users change passwords.

Thanks again,
