Fwd: [SM-USERS] Addressbook/Index options troubles...

2003-01-14 Thread deurk
Found the bug concerning the addressbook and it's not SM related. Was PHP
related (was running 4.3.0 beta) and it works great with PHP 4.3.0 final
release... Just in case you were wondering!

But I still have my trouble ordering my mails with indexes, whenever you click
up/down or remove, you're never sure of what's gonna happen on this page...

Anybody has already seen this problem??
Thanks.

Hi,

I didn't find in any of the archives I've looked in (maybe I did the wrong
search but hey, I'm French), but I've got some troubles with my 1.2.10
version of SM.

Everything seems to run fine for receiving or sending mails.

My troubles are currently the index sort, which lets you choose how you want
your messages to be sorted... It doesn(t work very well because when I click
on up or down, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't a just do something
weird, shuffling the indexes to a new list... But no error messages are
displayed...

The other problem I have (and far more important) is that when I had a
contact in the addressbook, it's working correctly, the file is created and
it is displayed as a list on the adresses page. If I had a second one on the
 fly, still ok.
Now if I click back on the adresses link to refresh the page, the list
disapears, even though the name.abook still exists...
If a had a third contact without seeing the 2 previous ones, then it displays
the 3... :|

Think I'm pretty lost, thing is, the list doesn't show up if I don't had a
contact so I can't use it at all (even the plugins are doing the same)...

Can somebody help me?
Thanks!

[SM-USERS] Trouble with options...

2003-01-14 Thread deurk
Hi,

Just reported a problem with the index options but got another trouble:

Each time I modify options (whatever which ones), I click save/done/ok and it
returns back to the messages list. At this point, if I don't make a refresh
of my page (like a F5 under IE), some of the options are not saved, and some
are (in the same page of options)...

I'd like to find out why and to remedy to it...

Any idea someone? Thanks!

Re: [SM-USERS] Trouble with options...

2003-01-14 Thread deurk
Just also found out that if between 2 clicks on up/down/remove I refresh the
page by myself, I can make it work correctly... So apparently, my whole
trouble about index and options are that the refresh done by SM to save its
options is not working properly... If anybody has ideas (I may stop to spam
:p)...

Cheers.

[SM-USERS] Impossible to send messages to Hotmail

2003-01-18 Thread deurk
I'm currently having troubles to send email from Squirrelmail to any
email addresses owned by Hotmail. When I try to, I get this error message:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at localhost.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Connected to 65.54.254.151 but sender was rejected.
Remote host said: 554 Transaction failed

I guess this may be some king of qmail issue but my qmail srever is
working perfectly for everything else, and weirder, I can use the same
server to send the same email to the same email address with my Outlook
client...Does any of you have an idea about
this problem?

Thanks.

[SM-USERS] Troubles with the options menus

2003-01-18 Thread deurk
Hi again,

I bump into a small, but very annoying problem, as my option screens are
not working perfectly. Problem is that, whatever the browser is, if I
change something in an option screen like the format of displayed date,
and click save, it doesn't actually save it until I refresh manually the
page with my browser.
If I don't refresh the page, then I can go to the same option screen and
see that the option has not been saved.
This is particuliary annoying for the indexes used to sort the mails...
Each time I've got to change the order of those, I've got to refresh the
page manually when I click on up/down/remove/add (which means, come back
to the main page) to be able to move the fields as I wish.

My config is this one:
Root Linux 1.3
PHP 4.3.0
SquirrelMail 1.2.10
Apache 2.0.40
Qmail 1.03

Would any of you guys be able to help the little French guy? :))
Cheers!

BTW: I don't see it very often but WHOAA this project is GREAT! Keep going
guys!

My hostname is set and I've got a reply-to address set in my profile in SM
too, in fact I'm using SM without any problem (besides this one and the
options one) to send all my emails.

The only not wrking domain is Hotmail.

[SM-USERS] Troubles with the options menus [SOLVED]

2003-01-19 Thread deurk
Got it!

Browsing the mailing-list I found a trick for the database... Thought I
could apply it to the file preferences and it works!

All you have to do is:

edit SMdir/functions/file_prefs.php
and look for $prefs_are_cached = true;
replace with $prefs_are_cached = false;

Works like a charm ;)

Also, if you have the same kind of troubles with the database, do the
exact same operation in the file db_prefs.php

SM rocks!

Re: [SM-USERS] Impossible to send messages to Hotmail

2003-01-19 Thread deurk
I'm not sending the email from a hotmail address. But the question that
appears to rise is: Is it really from hotmail's end since my Outlook or
whatever non-webbased client would work strictly with the same settings
(from address, domain, reply-to address, recipient, message, mail server,
etc)?
Or is it on my side with a bad configuration of something, but in that
case, what could possibly reject the use of Squirrelmail to mail an
hotmail's address? Or is it something inside SM (option, pref, plugin,
bug)?

I really have the elusive clue about the real nature of the problem...
Thanks anyway :)

I'll keep searching, if any of you come to another idea...

Re: [SM-USERS] virtual domains

You have to set-up ONE squirrelmail PER virtual domain, which makes the
configuration pretty easy...

On your webserver, you can then share some common folders (like everything
but data, attachments and config) for every virtual domain.

Just a thing...

If you have for example activated 'Sent subfolders monthly', it will
create a:
'Sent.2003.01' subfolder but not a 'Sent.2003' folder.

If you activate the 'New mail' check all folders options, il will hang on
the folder list cause it's looking for the 'Sent.2003' folder and
indicates an error.

I created the 'Sent.2003' folder, and now it's running fine...

Just for you guys to know :p

[SM-USERS] delete_move_next plugin with RC2a

2003-01-25 Thread deurk
>> Where is that programmer?! :))
> Right here... *grins*... I'll take a look :)

Just to make what is buggy for me really clear ;)
When I've got like say 3 new messages:

NEW
NEW
old
NEW

When I'm on the first one: 'next' and 'delete and move to next' are
available.
When I click on 'delete and move to next', then the second new mail
appears, and 'previous' and 'delete and move to previous' are available...
which is clearly impossible because it is deleted...

Or I am mistaking the use?

Is your PHP compatible with your Apache?

I use Apache 2.0.40 with PHP 4.3.0...
I used Apache 1.3.27 with PHP 4.2.3...

Didn't find any email address to contact the author, perharps somebody has
one (or the author is reading this).

Would be great to add it to the compatible list of SM 1.4.0.RC2a, as the
msg_flags plugin which gives SM a more professionnal look :)

Hmmm... Got troubles with the 'show unsafe images' at the end of the mail
now:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: finddisplayentity() in
/home/http/deurk/webmail-1-4-0-RC2a/src/read_body.php on line 812

Any ideas?

I contacted the author of that plugin to have him fix this for SM
1.4.0.RC2a but he is in exams right now. I hope he will think about fixing
that soon, cause it gives SM a great look!
