[SM-USERS] Setting up spam filter

2007-04-01 Thread Jason Carson
Greetings,

I go to options -> Spam Filters and it tells me to set
"SpamFilters_YourHop" variable. How do I do this. Is there a FAQ somewhere
to setup spam filters.

Thanks

Jason Carson

The plugin is simply called "filters". Under "Options" it creates two
things to choose from. There is "Message Filters" and "SPAM Filters". When
I go to "SPAM Filters" it said to set "SpamFilters_YourHop" variable which
I did. Under "SPAM Filters" it lets you select from a long list, I chose
"SPAMhaus Lists".

Do you have a plugin you would recommend?

[SM-USERS] Received: from unknown

2008-03-17 Thread Jason Carson
Greetings,

I am not sure if this is a squirrelmail problem or a qmail problem, but
here is my question. When I send an email to myself, in the header
information it says the following...

Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Received: (qmail 5901 invoked from network); 16 Mar 2008 23:57:45 -

Received: from unknown (HELO jasoncarson.ca) (127.0.0.1)
 by penguin.jasoncarson.ca with SMTP; 16 Mar 2008 23:57:45 -

Received: from 192.168.0.75
 (SquirrelMail authenticated user jason)
 by jasoncarson.ca with HTTP;
 Sun, 16 Mar 2008 19:57:45 -0400 (EDT)
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Date: Sun, 16 Mar 2008 19:57:45 -0400 (EDT)
Subject: Test
From: "Jason Carson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
User-Agent: SquirrelMail/1.4.10a
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain;charset=iso-8859-1
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
X-Priority: 3 (Normal)
Importance: Normal

Where it says "Received: from unknown (HELO jasoncarson.ca) (127.0.0.1)"
What do I have to do so it doesn't say "Received: from unknown" but
instead displays the correct information and IP address instead of
127.0.0.1?

Thanks

ok, I contacted the qmail mailing list and they recommended I use sendmail
instead of SMTP to send the mails. Not the old sendmail software but the
sendmail option in the squirrelmail options...

Server Settings -> Sendmail or SMTP -> Sendmail

I did this and got a totally different header...

Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Received: (qmail 7354 invoked by uid 81); 17 Mar 2008 20:54:33 -
Received: from 192.168.0.75

Subject: Test

User-Agent: SquirrelMail/1.4.10a
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain;charset=iso-8859-1
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
X-Priority: 3 (Normal)
Importance: Normal

...so I am going to stick with this configuration. Apparently no one knows
the solution to my original problem (Using SMTP instead of Sendmail)

[SM-USERS] Yahoo and Hotmail

2008-03-18 Thread Jason Carson
Greetings,

When using Squirrelmail (or Roundcube) and I try to send a message to
Hotmail or Yahoo the message never arrives. However if I use Pine to send
a message to Hotmail or Yahoo it does arrive. What's the reason for this?
I don't want to have to use Pine every time I need to email Hotmail/Yahoo.

Regards,

Jason Carson

It must be the headers then, cause when I use Pine everything just works.

Actually that doesn't explain why it works for Res (that other person) on

It's working now!

Hotmail receives my emails and so does yahoo, although yahoo moves them
into the spam folder for some reason.

There is a petition here ( http://www.petitiononline.com/notsmart/ ) to
get MS to change their filtering practices. It doesn't have many
signatures and probably won't amount to any action but I signed it
anyways.

[SM-USERS] Secure Login Plugin

2010-07-13 Thread Jason Carson
Hello everyone,

I am currently using SquirrelMail 1.4.15 and would like to upgrade to the
latest version (1.4.20).

My problem is that I can't get the Secure Login plugin found here...

http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=61

...to work with any version after 1.4.15 which is the reason why I am
still using that version.

The plugin hasn't been update since May 14 2008. Does anyone know how to
get the Secure Login plugin to work with SquirrelMail 1.4.20?

Thanks

ok, after setting 4 --> 16 to false everything is working. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, why didn't I have to do that for SquirrelMail 1.4.15

Nevermind, I see that option is not there for 1.4.15
