[SM-USERS] Some users timeout, some work
Hey. Just joined the list. I did search the archives first, but maybe I didn't search for the right thing. Sorry if I missed something. Background: Suse 9.0, uw-imap (tls), apache 1.3.28-77, PHP 4.3.3, (don't know how to get the list of installed plugins, but I know I have calendar and variable sent folders) When my wife logs in to squirrelmail, everything works great. When I press the submit button on the login screen, it goes to display the next page, but it never displays anything, and eventually times out. The main difference between my wife's mail and mine is that she has less than a handful of mailboxes, and I have dozens. However I know it worked for me a few months ago, so maybe I went over some secret limit, or subscribed to a mailbox that doesn't exist anymore, or something like that. I have no idea how to fix such a thing, though. I just upgraded (via RPM) from 1.4.3a-2 to 1.4.4-1, but that didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions on what I can try? I just started a new consulting contract, and pine through ssh isn't cutting it because of idiots who insist on using mime attachments for a couple of paragraphs of straight text. [SM-USERS] "Move selected to" sorts folders wrong.
I recently upgraded to SM 1.4.5-1 (talking to UW-IMAP over 993, on SuSE 9.0). I don't remember whether this problem existed before or not, because I only just started using SM after not using it for a while, but in the pulldown list of folders at the "Move selected to" prompt, the folders are sorted by name, but it doesn't include the parent folder in the name of subfolders, so in the case where I have two subfolders of the same name under different parents, I can't tell which is which in that pulldown. Note that the folders work fine in both the folder pane and the "Save Sent Message in:" pulldown list. Is that a bug, or some configuration thing I did wonky? Thanks. --- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf -- squirrelmail-users mailing list Posting Guidelines: http://squirrelmail.org/wiki/wiki.php?MailingListPostingGuidelines List Address: squirrelmail-users@lists.sourceforge.net List Archives: http://news.gmane.org/thread.php?group=gmane.mail.squirrelmail.user List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id)95 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users
[SM-USERS] Parent folders not showing up
squirrelmail-1.4.8-4.fc6 on (duh) Fedora Core 6, postfix, and dovecot. This problem has existed for a long time, but enough other things are now fixed on my box that this one has bubbled up to the top of the annoyance list. Special and most normal folders list just fine in the left pane. However, folders that have subfolders don't show up. The subfolders do show up, and properly indented, but the parent folder doesn't show up. For instance, I have folders like: A B C/D C/E C/F G H/I H/J K What I would see in Squirrelmail is A B D E F G I J K So it looks like D, E, and F are subfolders of B, instead of C, which doesn't show up at all. Does that make any sense? Is this a known problem? I wish I knew a better way to describe the problem in a way that google could help. [SM-USERS] Login problem with SuSE 9.0, uw-imap SM 1.4.2.1
Hey. having a problem with uw imap under SuSE 9.0 professional. The squirrelmail that comes with SuSE does not work with the version of PHP they ship. I just installed squirrelmail-1.4.2-1 from RPM. Note that this version of uw-imap requires TLS, and I have kmail working with it, so imap is not completely broken. The error I'm getting is Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen.html]: SSL operation failed with code 1. [SM-USERS] msg_flags plugin safe to install in SM 1.4.17-1?
I have SquirrelMail 1.4.17-1 running on a Fedora 8 box (installed as RPM). I would like to install the msg_flags plugin. Looking at the install instructions, one must patch squirrelmail, and it comes with different patches for different releases of SquirrelMail. The problem is, it only comes with patches for up to SM 1.4.15, since the plugin hasn't been updated in almost a year, and I'm running 1.4.17. Is there a way to know if it's safe to run the patch or not? Here are the files it patches: $ awk '/\/src\// {print $2}' < msg_flags-squirrelmail-1.4.15.diff ../../src/move_messages.php.orig ../../src/move_messages.php ../../src/left_main.php.orig ../../src/left_main.php I guess if thost files haven't changed, the patch should work. Otherwise I have to figure out how to patch them manually. Thanks. -- Register Now for Creativity and Technology (CaT), June 3rd, NYC. [SM-USERS] variable sent folder not showing up
Hi. I'm using squirrelmail 2:1.4.22-1|| under Ubuntu 12.04, which seems to be working fine. As far as I can tell, that's the latest stable release, though I see lots of references to later releases. I installed several plugins that seem to be working fine, but one that is very important to me is variable_sent_folder (http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=100) I added the latest one, and it shows up in the installed plugins list in conf.pl, but it doesn't appear on the squirrelmail compose screen. Then I saw that the latest release is for SquirrelMail 1.4.6+. I replaced it with version 0.4 from 2003 (unfortunately I forgot to uninstall first so I had to edit the config and plugins file), then installed it through conf.pl, but it's still not showing up. I don't see anything in my apache logs. The newer version is owned by a completely different person than the old version, and with the old version being over 10 years old, I'm hesitant to contact the author. I'm hoping someone can give me a clue of what to try. Alternately, is there an ubuntu package way of installing a newer (but not necessarily bleeding edge) version of Squirrelmail?
