I have notified the responsible developer at Strato, and he said he will look 
into this issue. He did not sound like this behaviour was intentional.

I just use this stuff on my tiny home network and I don't know why I
enabled the https stuff on my server but now with the squirrelmail.stable
installation after a few minutes of composing I get
"The current page request appears to have originated from an untrusted
source."

which didn't happen with previous install, details are in previous post
any tips why this would be ?
