But WHY is iso-8859-1 the default if any users must change it to utf-8?

I think, this is a problem with regular expression because the E-Mail
used by me even crashed Microsoft Exchange server.

The problem is, that I am not native RTL programmer and we need to find
one from Israel, Iran or such.

I will ask my contacts to find someone which can help out.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

It was default in 1999 and SquirrelMail started to support wider range of
character sets only in 1.2.x version. Only in 1.4.5 SquirrelMail added
charset conversions to compose.

When I implemented things in charsets, backwards compatibility had higher
priority than utf-8. My attitude toward translations was liberal. I knew
that utf-8 is better but I never forced translators to use it.
SquirrelMail had experimental utf-8 versions since 1.2.9 or .10, but only
since 1.4.5 after user feedback utf-8 was really usable.

How do you align bulleted list (like Folder tree)? Is it mirrored version
of LTR or only text is written in RTL? Bullet symbols go to the left or to
the right side of text?

Do you expect folder listing to switch to different side, if you switch to
RTL?

I know it is the hell of a work... I converted my Website to utf-8 too.

This is the Debian/Squeeze Version 1.4.21 set to Persian language and
Firefox set to fa_IR but it does not show farsi (even if the translation
is there)

Currently I try to upload the latest 1.5 version but my GSM connection
is realy fast.

The From: in the image uploaded is broken, also the folder listing which
should be at least

  |
 INBOX (33/33)|
Drafts|
  Send|
 Trash|
  Spam|

however...

> Do you expect folder listing to switch to different side, if you switch to

...it depends on the IMAP server because not all support other languages
then iso-8859-1. In Courier-IMAP I can use a foldername in persia, but
I am not more able to filter (from procmail or maildrop) in this folder.
:-/

So I think, most peoples will use us-ascii or iso-8859-1 charset, which
mean, it is better for readability if the listting does not change the
direction and stay with LTR (on the Options someone can set it to the
left or right side which should be enough - as it is)

OK, now installed

squirrelmail-20110316_0200-SVN.devel

and my Squirrelmail ist gone exactly,
it show a blank page...

It would be nice, if could offer the last
10-20 versions of snapshots and does not immediately delete older ones.

So this mean I have to stay with 1.4.21 or 1.4.22-svn or nothing...
