[SM-USERS] New feature request.

2010-12-22 Thread chrish
Hi,

I use this software and it is, for the most part, pretty good. A couple
of suggestions; sorry if they are covered elsewhere that I missed.

Thanks,
  Chris

1. Often times I will have my mail tab (inside my browser) covered while I
am surfing on a different tab. When I want to check my email, I perform a
tab switch. What I would like is for the Title of the tab to add a (+)
sign in front of "SquirrelMail 1.4.21" to alert me whenever new mail
arrives. Not sure if this is even possible but is a browser thing.

2. Change the default outgoing message size to something bigger that the
1-2MB; I often have attachments that size over 10MB. I probably can change
a default setting but could find it anywhere.

Thanks,
  Chris Haidinyak

Thanks very much.

Please make sure to do some searching before you ask, as these are
somewhat common questions that are well-documented.

Try the "New Mail" plugin, which comes standard with the SquirrelMail
package. Make sure you have the folder list set to auto-refresh.

I did an Internet search for "squirrelmail attachment size" and the
first result pointed me right to where you want to go.

[SM-USERS] XLAMPP Permission ownership change

2010-12-22 Thread Jago Pearce

Is there a way to get SquirrelMail to change what user it wants so it can work
with XLAMPP? I can't see anything in conf.pl or anything online. I wanted to
search this mailing list but I couldn't see a link for that on sf.net

Change from user: `net-www` (ubuntu lucid package setting)
to user: `nobody`

I could do it the other way (change the directory permissions of /opt/lampp)
but it's cleaner and less chance of going wrong doing it this way.

Mailing list archives are available in many places, several of which
are documented on the SquirrelMail website.

What user your web server runs as has nothing to do with SquirrelMail.
It's a web server configuration question. If you're using Apache,
look for the "User" (and/or "Group") configuration setting in your
httpd.conf file. Further questions should be directed to the
community that supports your web server.

Good luck
