This bug occurs when I ...
  ... view a particular message
  ... use a specific plugin/function
  ... try to do/view/use

The description of the bug:

When I am in the Inbox and select a message to move it in fact does a copy and
not a move. The e-mail remains in the Inbox but is moved to the
destination. This does not happen when I open the e-mail and choose to move
from there.

I can reproduce the bug by:

Moving the e-mail from the Inbox.

RE: [SM-USERS] (no subject)

2005-04-07 Thread steve
.
> The blocks/blacklists on dynamic IP's are entirely appropriate in this
day and age. There is an industry accepted and promoted solution to your
problem and that is to use your ISP's mail server as an outgoing mail
relay. You can either use it via SMTP directly from your applications
(i.e. SM) or as a smarthost for the mail server you are running. Every
ISP I know of worth a grain of salt allows their customers to use the
ISP's mail servers to send mail. That's why they are there. If you do
that I'll be most if not all of your problems go away. If you are an
@home customer, they are almost certainly allowing you to relay SMTP
through them. If you're blocked because you're on a blacklist that they
subscribe to then it's your fault for not doing your research before
setting up your mail server.
>

That WOULD make sense. This isn't a SM issue, but last year I was getting
DSL from Verizon and I tried using my work email address as my return
email address - and Verizons server wouldn't send out my mail. I finally
got through to someone there who said that their server simply would not
send email out for anyone not using a verizon.net email address and
reply-to address. Silly policy. M$-type business practices. It lost
them a customer.

[SM-USERS] Importing addresses from Palm Pilot/Treo 650

2005-04-07 Thread David Williams
Is there an automated (or semi automated) way of doing this? Ideally I'd love
to be able to just plug my Treo into the Linux box (or do it over the
network/internet) and sync up my contacts with the address book.

Any thoughts/ideas on this?

I currently have v1.5.0

[SM-USERS] Increasing the depth of the compose window

2005-04-07 Thread David Williams
Is there a way to increase the compose box depth size? I can increase the
width via options but not the depth, which is a little annoying since it's
not exactly deep. And if I choose to use HTML to compose e-mails then I can
only see a few lines in the compose box since the HTML toolbars take up
several.

Not a major gripe but would be nice to fix :D

[SM-USERS] Message filters ???

2005-04-07 Thread Gary MacKay
What happened to the standard message filters? Not the spam stuff, just
filters to move the messages into folders. I'm running the 1.5.x
development from cvs. I had quite a few filters setup and now they are
gone. I found the plugin had been moved to the obsolete section. How do
I do this now? Oh, and I do have my configs, addresses, calendars, etc.
all in mysql if that matters.

The filters plugin currently ships with Squirrelmail (and has for some time) so
the
version on the website is obsolete since it doesn't contain all the fixes that
the
shipped and CVS versions do.

You say that the filters are gone... do you mean your filters have been erased
or
that the "Message Filters" block is gone from Options? If they have been
erased, I
can not see how the plugin would cause it, so maybe your mysql preferences had
gotten restored from an earlier version? If you don't have the Options anymore,
make sure you have not updated over your config file, and see if it shows in
conf.pl
or config.php.

Reupdate your CVS copy and readd it to your plugins list is about all I can say
with
the imformation you have given us.

Version: 1.5.0 is generally (by the SQM team, of which I'm not one)
obsolete and deprecated. They advise 1.5.1 CVS instead.

I run 1.5.1 CVS (in production even, for 1150+ accounts) and do not have
this problem.

Just make the change in the conf file (via the configure script). SM
will create the hash directories and move the prefs/address book files
intot he correct location automatically as each user logs in.
I just had to join in and say - "Wow!"
which brilliant, thoughtful programmer did that? =)
Now if we could get squirrelmail to also have a setting "convert folders
to mbx format" so that I don't have to manually change all my users'
folders from mbox by hand...!! =)

[SM-USERS] Could not create Hash directory (linux + apache this time)

2005-04-07 Thread Daniel Watts
I know this was brought up for an IIS user but I'm having the problem
with apache.

Sqm: 1.4.4
PHP 4.3.10
Apache 2.0
Error:
Error creating directory
/home/virtual/domain.com/var/www/squirrelmail-data/5.
Could not create hashed directory structure!
Please contact your system administrator and report this error.

This is the directory structure:
drwxr-xr-x 3 rootroot4096 Apr 7 14:17 squirrelmail
drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Apr 6 19:00 squirrelmail-attachments
drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Apr 7 17:13 squirrelmail-data
As you can see apache owns and has full priviliges to squirrelmail-data
What else should i be checking here?
Thanks!

It's already fixed in the CVS. You're using v1.5.0 so you can upgrade to
v1.5.1 CVS or wait for the official release of v1.5.1 (hopefully within a
month).

Sincerely,
Fredrik.

[SM-USERS] IMAP : automatic Subscribe to (all) folders ?

2005-04-07 Thread vargas_e vargas_e
Hello squirrelmail users â

I've installed squirredmail with an exchange2k server by IMAP
protocol. Everything is ok, no pb.
But I have a simple question:

The users have many folders in their INBOX folder and I want to
automatic subscribe to all â
I don't have find option on my exchange server, so I just want know if
you know a way to do this automatically by squirrelmail or with a
plugin â.

I found an old thread with a hack (change LSUB to LIST in the
imap_mailbox.php) but â. I'm not sure it's work again with the last
version (I have tried without success)

Thx for you help and sorry for my bad English ï

2005-04-07 Thread Paul Lesneiwski

David Williams wrote:

Doing what? Please describe the issue instead of only putting it in
short form in the subject.

Ideally
I'd love to be able to just plug my Treo into the Linux box (or do it
over the network/internet) and sync up my contacts with the address
book.
Any thoughts/ideas on this?
Currently, addressbook_import_export plugin is the only way to
import/export addresses, and there is no synch functionality that I know
of. The format has to be CSV; I have no idea how palm/treo attempt
imports/exports, but I suspect they might use vcards, which are still
under development in 1.5.x. Maybe ask Jimmy or Tomas, as I think one of
them may have better idea if import/export in that format is on the plate.

I currently have v1.5.0
Try upgrading to 1.5.1 and you'll like it.

Re: [SM-USERS] Bug Report

2005-04-07 Thread p dont think
I installed 1.5.1 and there are a few minor things that I noticed.I
cannot get the msg_flags plugin to work since the diff file will no
longer patch.
Did you even read the msg_flags page or the release notes or...???
That plugin is integrated into 1.5.1, so if you tried to patch it into
the core, you really screwed up your code.

Window depth does not work when the plugin html_mail is
installed and configured to use FCKeditor. Window is so small it is
not useable
See the plugins list archives. This has been fixed but the plugin is
not ready for next release quite yet. As my many messages have said,
you may contact me offlist for a preview copy.

Emotions are not available when the plugin html_mail is
installed and configured to use HTMLArea.
They are if you use the patch that comes with the plugin. Please read
the INSTALL file. I don't think patches are included for 1.5.x, since
it is still under development and changes too much, but you can fiddle
with the 1.4.4 patch and get it to work if emoticons mean that much to
you.

 When saving a
draft e-mail that is in HTML format, the HTML format is not saved
when resuming draft.
Sheesh, do your research before posting. This is in beta form right
now. Ask me off list if you want a copy of the new code.

Not our problem. You need to find them in the prefs you had on whatever

I found the plugin had been moved to the obsolete section.

Please state the fact that you are referring to the HTML_Mail plugin,
not the standard compose window. You NEED to be more detailed when you
are asking us to help you. If you are NOT referring to the HTML_mail
plugin, then Options->Display Prefs(Compose Prefs in 1.5.1)->Width of
Compose Window and Height of Compose Window are what you want to change.

And if I choose to use HTML to
compose e-mails then I can only see a few lines in the compose box
since the HTML toolbars take up several.
Yet once again, you need to read the plugins list archives to see that
this is fixed but still in development and you need to ask offlist for
the beta if you want it now now now.

I don't know, but maybe the AutoSubscribe plugin might do the trick. "This
plugin automates creation of special folders and subscriptions."

[SM-USERS] Copying a locale

2005-04-07 Thread Sylvain Fauvel

I tried to copy a locale. It does not seem to work.

My context:

OS: Solaris 9
Browser: Apache 2.0.52
SquirrelMail version : 1.4.4
PHP version 4.3.10
PHP Options for localisation: --with-gettext --with-iconv

The os is configured for fr_CA (Canadian French) but not fr_FR.
SquirrelMail has fr_FR only.

1st question: Am i right to assume i will not be able to configure
fr_FR in SquirrelMail if it is not installed for the OS?

So, i am trying to copy fr_FR to fr_CA.

I imported the package fr_FR-1.4.4-20050308.tar.gz, untarred and
proceeded to rename fr_FR fr_CA. I copied the "locale" directory,
as well as the "image" directory and "help" directory (had to rename
the image file). I then ran the "install" script.

I also install and compile locales (all of them) with the
"compilelocales"
script. (i downloaded "locales-1.4.4-20050308-src.tar.gz" and
"all_locales-1.4.4-20050308.tar.gz").

Then i edited the function i18n.php and added:

$languages['fr_CA']['NAME']= 'Can.French';
$languages['fr_CA']['CHARSET'] = 'iso-8859-1';
$languages['fr_CA']['LOCALE']  = 'fr_CA.ISO8859-1';
$languages['fr']['ALIAS']  = 'fr_CA';

I edited config/config.php to specity :

$squirrelmail_default_language = 'fr_CA'

I restartted Apache. I still get english for the interface. Only the
help files are in french.

My other option is to reinstall the OS with fr_FR as well as apache, php
and all
other required packages. I would prefer to avoir this.

Where do I find the plug in archives? I've taken a look on the
Squirrelmail homepage but did not notice any archives.
Archive links are plastered all over the mailing list page you used to
find subscription instructions. Amazing you couldn't take time to read
the rest of that page.

> Sorry that I

Only "rude" when people who should have read the posting guidelines
obviously don't. It could easily be considered rude to waste the time
of people helping you for free to re-ask questions that have already
been answered many times over. If you can't be bothered to find the
archives on our site or read our posting guidelines, you can always try
google, assuming you know how to use that.

Please read this before posting next time:

Like I mentioned today at some point, 1.5.1 is under development, which
means it changes constantly. It becomes pointless to re-release patches
that will only change every month or more. Like I already said, if you
are trying 1.5.1, you should adapt the 1.4.4 or 1.4.3 patch and it will
work fine.

Well, I subscribed well over 1 year ago when I first looked at Squirrelmail,
yesterday was the first time in one year so I didn't look at the
subscription page and that isn't the most obvious place to put a link to the
archives.

At any rate, you could have just supplied the link and not the RUDE comments
too.

I'm only wasting your time if you reply! If it's too much trouble to reply and
be CIVIL why not just delete the e-mail and continue on your merry
little coding streak and continue to brush up your anti-social skills.

I'd didn't ask for patches to be re-released. Perhaps you should learn to read

It's not *just* the subscription page. It's the *mailing list* page.
Seems obvious enough. If you haven't bothered with the list for a year,
maybe it makes sense to click the mailing list page before you post.

> At any rate, you could have just supplied the link and not

Or maybe, if you couldn't be bothered to look around the SM site, you
could read any one of the messages on any of the SM lists, which all have
links to the posting guidelines in them... why is it up to us to hold your
hand? THINK before posting.

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Pay attention to the item right near the top called "Before You Ask". All
of these are no more than a lot of common sense.

Most unusual... never seen that before... Also never seen a check
appearing next to the folder selected, so I'm assuming that is a
browser quirk on the Mac :)

SquirrelMail 1.2.11 is very out of date now, it might be worth an
upgrade to start with... Looking at the screenshot, it's difficult to
tell who owns the webmail installation, so you might need to contact
Media Temple and speak to them. They may be able to further aid you.
It could also be possible that it is a plugin, or code adjustment made
by them, however that'd seem like a rather unusual change.

1. are you running php in safe mode?

2. do you have NLSPATH variable set in apache environment?

3. Try these two php scripts

If first one returns false and second - fa_CA.ISO_8859-1 string - add
hyphen to full locale name or port patch from 1.4.5cvs.
