conf.pl -> 4. General Options -> 11-13 options should be set to false.

or go to http://your-webmail-address/path/src/options.php and change
language.

or provide more details about your setup. Courier-imap server has to be
compiled with certain flag. Some other imap server don't support server
side threading/sorting.

You or your system admin enabled SquirrelMail options that are not fully
supported by your imap server.

this plugin is slow and cpu/memory intensive. If you have more experienced
email users, you should use other plugins that control filtering on
server.

If you have different users, some might read emails in iso-8859-1, other
in iso-8859-2 or other charsets. squirrelmail converts emails that use
different charsets into html entities. Some functions are cpu/memory
intensive. These cpu/memory intensive functions are not enabled by
default. If you use 1.4.x, you should not notice them unless you know that
they are there. Decoding process can be optimized, if php supports recode
functions.

Galen,
Thanks for your hard work over the years. Hopefully someone will
step up and take this on... can you outline what, if any, items are
outstanding for the plugin currently?

Thanks,

Really the only outstanding issue I'm aware of is the update to the new
master password plugin hook.

Brad Donison was good enough to volunteer. I've made some changes at
his suggestion in the past and am looking forward to what he has to
offer the plugin.

Thanks, Brad.

[SM-USERS] Nickname with multiple email addresses

2004-09-12 Thread SM-Development
Hi List,
Is there any way to make the nickname in the addressbook to hold multiple
email addresses? Current nickname hold one address per nickname.

The purpose is to create a nickname containing multiple addresses, so when
sending email to a group of users, simply specify one nickname, instead of
multiple nicknames.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Pls CC a copy of yr reply to me.
Thanks.

Have you taken a look at the plugins section on the website? There
are plugins that allow you to create groups of people.

  http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugins_category.php?category_id=2

I think there is at least one or two that do this. If not viable, I
think you can use a , to separate, but it has been a while since I've
taken a look at the addressbook code.

Just to confirm, you can use a comma. I have a user that has an address
book entry that consists of 96 email addresses. This is what happens
when you deal with a non-technology oriented userbase ;) Beware: the
autocomplete plugin will not work for such entries. It assumes that it
is a single address and formats it as 'Full Name
<[EMAIL PROTECTED],[EMAIL PROTECTED]> which will be bounced or
outright rejected.

RE: [SM-USERS] Nickname with multiple email addresses

2004-09-12 Thread Walker Wheeler

Be careful when adding many addresses per line. If I recall correctly
SquirrelMail is limitted to reading 2048 characters from an address line.
I believe this counts nickname, first name, last name, email addresses and
notes. I had to convert some email lists and ran into this problem. There
is another problem that can occur from putting many addresses on the same
line. If you are using the HTML version of the addressbook, some users
will not find the 'Use Addresses' button because it is centered.
