However due to the changed architecture of some parts in 1.4 it was very easy to add extra header checks for the 2 mentioned headers. I added those checks to the 1.4 branche. Note: The way you request the extra headers is timeconsuming because it requires 2 extra imap-calls. In SM 1.4 we need 1 call (only for the full rfc822-header) and we look for known headerfields and process them. Adding your proposed search for the headerfields X-Confirm-Reading-To and Return-Receipt-To does not influence the performance in 1.4 (not significant). I advise you to checkout the cvs or wait for the cvs snapshot with todays changes and try that version. [SM-USERS] Getting addresses from an MS SQL DB
Has anyone managed a setup to permit accessing email addresses from an MS SQL 7 DB, using the Addresses button in Compose? [SM-USERS] Mail in IMAP sub folders.
Hi folks, I've just set up Squirrel and I must say it looks ideal for what I want to do, except for one small thing (that I'm sure is my fault). I've got my mail set up in a mail tree (seperate to the INBOX) where procmail sorts the mail. I've changed the mail base to be / rather than mail/ and I can see the tree fine, and the number of unread messages in the sub folders, however, when I click on one of the subfolders, I get the INBOX displayed each time. [SM-USERS] Unable to log in
Hello there, I was wondering if I might be able to get some help here. I am using Mac OSX Server 10.2.3 and the default SquirrelMail that is installed. I believe that I have configured everything correctly, POP/SMTP and IMAP services running and turned on for the users, and I went through the perl configuration for the SM settings. When I go to web page login, http://visionthang.mine.nu/WebMail, I get the login window but none of the user names that I have created will work. Upon entering the usernames and passwords I get redirected to a page that says: Error There was an error contacting the mail server. Contact your administrator for help. Go to the login page I know that the accounts are working because I can configure any mail app, such as Entourage for OSX, and send and receive mail without any trouble. So what am I missing here? Given the amazingly small amount of information you supplied, no, we can't tell you how to fix it. What version of squirrelmail? PHP? What smtp server are you using, and what version is it? What are you putting in the To:, CC:, and BCC: fields of the message? Does this problem happen with all messages, or just one problem message you're trying to send? Is it a new install? Has it ever worked before, and if it has what got changed to make it stop? [SM-USERS] Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_php_version()
Hello everybody, I could use some help here :P First: Apache 1.3.27-2 PHP 4.1.2-7.3.6 SM 1.4.0 RC2a Redhat 7.3 I'll be happy to add any other info needed to help me. This error occurs when trying to access weather and notes (as far as I can tell): Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_php_version() in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/global.php on line 70 Here is line 70: function check_php_version ($a = '0', $b = '0', $c = '0') I assume it is a PHP error because I've checked permissions, gone through several versions of SM (1.2.10, 1.2.11, and CVS) and this error has remained. Any ideas? I know nothing about PHP (or real programming or scripting) but I'm willing to mess around with it if somebody has suggestions. I was under a time > limit and knew you guys would probably have a better way to do it, > unfortunately I was on my own with this one. Glad to have helped! The fix for the SM 1.4 branche was realy easy and only possible due to some of the architecture changes in the develbranche. For the 1.2.x branche it's not so easy to do. So don't worry about 1.2.x and see the changes in class/mime/Rfc822Header.class.php. The way how it should be implemented is limit the number of imap-calls by fetching the full rfc822 header and parse the results. Only problem is that there were many places in SM 1.2.x where multiple imap-calls are used where 1 was sufficient. So in the light of the rest of the 1.2.x code the sollution you came with was a logical sollution. The reason I mentioned it was because I spend a lot of time to reducing the number of imap-calls in the 1.3 branche to gain performance and wanted to make a point that imap-calls are expensive. Anyway, thnx again for the header information, it will make pine users very happy :-) Marc. --- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com -- squirrelmail-users mailing list List Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users

Yes, you're right. It is a PHP error, that is basically saying, you cannot have the same name for a function in two different places. > Any ideas? I know nothing about PHP (or real programming or > scripting) but I'm willing to mess around with it if somebody has > suggestions. A good start would be to find out what plugins you have loading. It could be possible that the plugin has a function defined in there with the same name. The best way to do this is run the conf.pl script in the config directory, and go to option #8 (Plugins) and see which are active. Try shutting them all off, then start adding them one by one until you find the cause if it is a plugin of course. > I LOVE this program and so do my friends -- kudos to the developers. To all following this thread, Thanks for the help and hints, squirrelmail is correctly handling attachments now with no problems. Wish I knew the exact problem but I can tell you what I did to fix it. So I think is a problem with the set_up_language function wich ii haven't check yet but i will. ;-) I ask you everybody, if you know where can be the problem and how to fix it. Thanks all. [SM-USERS] Frusterating attachment problem
Dear SM users I have upgraded my webmail server to Red Hat 8 and this time SM comes with it automatically so no need for installation worries. But it turn out to be not true. Now I am observing that I can not send messages larger than 0.5 Mb. When I try to attach files greater than 0.5 Mb sendmail does not do anything, not even any error messages. With my previous mail server which had the old version of the SM, there was an error if I wanted to try to attach a file larger than what is allowed. My server has 1Gb RAM and My sendmail limit is 3M and I increased memory limit of php to 80 M and its upload limit to 10M. The changes did not brought any change at all and still I can not attach files greater than about 500k. I am wondering why I am not getting any errot message and how can I remove this problem. RE: [SM-USERS] Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_php_version()
In one of the betas for the weather 4.x plugin, this problem existed, but it was fixed in the final release. You say it might be weather... if it's the regular weather plugin, did you get the most recent one from the SM site? Otherwise, you can try this: cd /path/to/SM/plugins/ grep -R "function check_php_version" * And you shouldn't get anything back. If you do, there's the culprit. > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of > Jonathan Angliss > Sent: Monday, January 27, 2003 5:49 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [SM-USERS] Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_php_version() > > Hello Lpdpmq001, > On Monday, January 27, 2003, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote... > > > This error occurs when trying to access weather and notes (as far as I can > tell): > > > Fatal error: Cannot redeclare check_php_version() in > > /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/global.php on line 70 > > [..] > > > I assume it is a PHP error because I've checked permissions, gone > > through several versions of SM (1.2.10, 1.2.11, and CVS) and this > > error has remained. > > Yes, you're right. [SM-USERS] I messed up the permisions on my whole server and now my user can not use SM
I was adding an extra hard drive to my server and when I went to set the ownership of the files on it I messed things up and ended up with all of my files on my entire server being owned by root. This hosed the system up pretty badly, but I have been able to restore the proper ownership to most of the files. Unfortunately I have not been able to get SquirrelMail to work properly again yet. Whenever I try to open my imap folder via SM it gives me the error "ERROR : Could not complete request.Reason Given: Error in IMAP command received by server." This shows up in both the left and right windows. Even though I get this messages it still properly lists how many new messages are in my main inbox. I am also still able to get to the options screen. Another key piece of info is that since this happened my user has been problematic logging in, sometimes requiring that I even restart apache just to make things work. The strangest thing about all of this is that other user accounts are not effected. I have looked around my configuration files, but have found no clue. I can not even find any log files or similar means by which I might gain info about what's happening. Does anybody have or know where I might find a clue? Jason Corekin
