[Rd] including .svg vector graphics?

2006-01-22 Thread Marjo en Edwin
Hello there,

I must say I am quite happy with the output devices for graphics in R
already, but still ...

I am wondering if there are any plans for incorporating the option to save
graphs as ".svg" files. This would make it easy to postprocess figures in R
with Inkscape, the open source vector graphics editor.

The reason why I would want to postprocess vector graphics is to save them
to high quality (high dpi) .tiff files.

Greetings,
Edwin Commandeur

[Rd] power analysis for sample size calculations

2006-08-28 Thread Marjo en Edwin
Dear all,

The existing R packages for doing power analyses (pwr, hpower) seem
quite basic/limited, compared to the power analyses implemented in the
UnifyPow SAS module.

I wondered if there are people working on power analyses for a broader
range of statistical tests than pwr and hpower cover or maybe on
implementing UnifyPow functionality in R. I would like to give a shot at
it, but I would like feedback if anyone is already working on this
(maybe I can help) or if anyone would advise against it.

Greetings,
Edwin Commandeur
