Simple IRC library

2009-08-24 Thread devaru
Hi all,
I am new to Python language. I want to capture(either in database or a
file) the conversation in IRC.
Please suggest me some simple IRC library or code snippet for this.

@Paul Rubin: This is small experimental project and I assure you that
i will not invade anyone's privacy.

@alex23: My bad, I didn't check the solutions that were provided in
the earlier thread (http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.python/
browse_frm/thread/448c0b476047f898).
I'll be trying out the solutions and let this community know.

Right now I'm using irclib.py.
@Jonathan Gardner: I would be connecting to an IRC channel through a
bot.
Storing data would not be problem. I'll either store it in a file or
in database.

Thanks everyone for the reply :-).

pycopg2 build problems

2009-09-23 Thread devaru
Hi,

I'm trying to install psycopg2 on my system. I followed the
instruction in INSTALL file and gave the command
python setup.py build
running build
running build_py
running build_ext
error: No such file or directory

Where is the file or directory missing. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you all.

Yes, as Philip and Wolodja have said, we need pg_config in the PATH
variable for psycopg2 to build.
Then I ran into a problem where I had to install the dependency
package python-devel.
Now psycopg2 installed fine.
