replacing choice.exe function with python script..

Hi list,I'm looking for suggestions to replace choice.exe on windows with a python script. With choice.exe you can ask for input from the command line. Then choice.exe
 will set a variable that can later be used to do usefull things. The tricky part is that it allows you to set a default selection that will be entered after a timeout. Anybody have some code examples or suggestions?

I'm looking for suggestions on how to approach generating rss feed
.xml files using python. What modules to people recommend I start
with?
