#34960 [NEW]: PHP.INI says no DLL needed, when in fact it did need it.

Operating system: Windows Server 2003
PHP version: 5.0.5
PHP Bug Type: MySQL related
Bug description: PHP.INI says no DLL needed, when in fact it did need it.

Description:

;Windows Extensions
;Note that MySQL and ODBC support is now built in, so no dll is needed for
it.
;

Running Apache2, MySQL 5.0, PHP 5.0.5

This is now included in the PHP.ini file, however when I upgraded from PHP
4.4.0 to PHP 5.0.5, the first thing that failed to work is MySQL. Your note
says not to include the DLL, it's built in. However, to get MySQL working,
I added the extension=php_mysql.dll. Now it works.

I am reporting this because your note says it is built in, but in my
download, it wasn't. It may be a windows issue, i'm not complaining. I
love you guys for all your hard work, PHP is a tool that makes us all Gods
of programming.

Just keeping you up to date on issues. You may have already received a bug
report on this, however I am making sure you do. Other than that, my issue
has been resolved, but I think this is a bug, and you should look into it,
and let others know about it so they can get their PHP / MySQL working. I
am sure mostly everyone did what I did and added the extension.

Nathan

Reproduce code:
---
Install MySQL, Latest Version 5.0, and install PHP 4.4.0. Get your MySQL
working with Apache and PHP. Shut down Apache, Upgrade to PHP 5.0.5 using
the PHP Installer. Take out any MySQL extensions from the PHP.ini file if
they weren't removed by PHP 5.0.5 Installer. You should receive the same
error. I couldn't go around it, I even restarted and reinstalled. My last
resort was to put in the extension.

#35285 [NEW]: 'Cannot use string offset: Multi-Dimensional Array gives error if not init.

2005-11-18 Thread admin at sellchain dot com

Operating system: Windows Server 2003
PHP version: 5.0.5
PHP Bug Type: Scripting Engine problem
Bug description: 'Cannot use string offset: Multi-Dimensional Array gives
error if not init.

Description:

When using PHP to build a multi-dimensional array, the first 5 days, this
code worked fine. Suddenly, PHP got picky, and decided it shouldn't work
anymore.

# Because i declare $myp to become empty, (because this $myp is put into a
loop), I want the array to be empty next time around. So I declared it
$myp='' before it starts. This worked fine for a few days, I have been
testing this inside and out. All of a sudden FOR NO REASON, it just starts
telling me this error. ''Cannot use string offset as an array site'' Hmm?
Well I did manage to fix it, by declaring $myp[0][0]='' instead of
$myp='', however it seems like a really weird bug, because it decided to
jump at me 5 days after usage. Code examples below. Maybe you guys should
look into it.
