ok, which probably means that you don't compile Pan yourself.

How can I unsubscribe from this list. I've been on the list for 20+ 
years. Learned a lot and at this point am not using PAN. Be specific. I 
don't have a password after 20+ years. and I'm tired of getting emails 
about "I don't know how to configure some application that I don't use.

According to the mail header

List-Unsubscribe: , 
   

you can go to https://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/options/pan-users and
take it from there, i.e. click the unsubscribe button.

Or you can send mail to pan-users-requ...@nongnu.org with as subject
"unsubscribe".

In both cases I expect you will need to confirm. (the web page says so
for the first option)

Some mail programs even interpret those mail headers and make some kind
of button or menu entry for it.
