[Numpy-discussion] ANN: DataLab v0.11 Released

2024-01-31 Thread Pierre Raybaut
Hello everyone,

We're excited to announce the release of DataLab v0.11, alongside a completely
redesigned website:
https://codra-ingenierie-informatique.github.io/DataLab

DataLab is an open-source platform for scientific and technical data processing
and visualization, based on NumPy, SciPy, ... and Qt.

Once again, this release is the result of the feedback and contributions of our
early adopters. We're grateful for your support and look forward to your
continued insights.

💥 New Features:
- Enhanced tree view for signals and images with drag and drop functionality.
- Advanced 1D interpolation and resampling features for signals.
- New intensity profile features for images (e.g. radial profile).
- Plot results obtained from signal and image computations.
- And many other improvements (plugin API, 1D/2D computing results, profile
extraction, ...)

🌐 Revamped Website:
- Comprehensive documentation of features and public API.
- "Getting Started" guides with overviews, use cases, and detailed tutorials,
including videos (example data sets are mainly based on contributions from our
early adopters).

💡 You have a project or a use case in mind? (we can even write a tutorial for
you...) You want to contribute? We'd love to hear from you!

So please, don't hesitate to contact us or to open an issue
(https://github.com/Codra-Ingenierie-Informatique/DataLab/issues/new/choose) on
our GitHub project for any request or question.

Thank you for taking the time to read my announcement. Looking forward to your
thoughts.

Best,
Pierre

[Numpy-discussion] ANN: DataLab v0.14

2024-03-22 Thread Pierre Raybaut
Hello everyone,

We're thrilled to announce the release of DataLab v0.14!
https://datalab-platform.com

DataLab is an open-source platform for scientific and technical data
processing and visualization, based on NumPy, SciPy, ... and Qt.
It's extendable with plugins, and works seamlessly as a complementary tool
with your IDE (e.g. #Spyder, VSCode, ...) and Project Jupyter notebooks.

Once again, this release is the result of the feedback and contributions of
our early adopters. We're grateful for your support and look forward to
your continued insights.

💥 New Features:

- Brand new HDF5 browser: now shows all datasets, group properties and
attributes.
- New "Text file import assistant: various enhancements.
- Other improvements (colormap inversion, signal/image histogram, ...)

🚀 New Binder environment to test DataLab online without installing
anything:

[Numpy-discussion] ANN: DataLab v0.15

2024-05-07 Thread Pierre Raybaut
Hello everyone,

We're excited to announce the release of DataLab v0.15!
https://datalab-platform.com

Note that the v0.15.1 release fixes a very annoying issue on macOS (screen
flickering when switching from a signal/image object to another).

DataLab is an open-source platform for scientific and technical data
processing and visualization, based on NumPy, SciPy, ... and Qt.
It's extendable with plugins, and works seamlessly as a complementary tool
with your IDE (e.g. Spyder, VSCode, ...) and Project Jupyter notebooks.

Once again, this release is the result of the feedback and contributions of
our early adopters. We're grateful for your support and look forward to
your continued insights.

💥 New Features:

- Added support for large CSV/text files (when opening or importing data in
Signal Panel, for example). Need to work on a GB file ? No worry, DataLab
won't freeze
- New auto downsampling feature for visualizing large signals -- handling
100Mpts signals without slowing down the user experience!
- New MSI installer (replacing the old EXE installer for the stand-alone
version on Windows) to avoid false positive detection by antiviral software

💡 You have a project or a use case in mind? (we can even write a tutorial
for you...) You want to contribute? We'd love to hear from you!
So please, don't hesitate to contact us or to open an issue (
https://github.com/DataLab-Platform/DataLab/issues/new/choose) on our
GitHub project for any request or question.

Thank you for taking the time to read my announcement. Looking forward to
your thoughts.

Best,
Pierre Raybaut

[Numpy-discussion] ANN: DataLab v0.16

2024-06-17 Thread Pierre Raybaut
Hello everyone,

We're thrilled to announce the release of DataLab v0.16!
https://datalab-platform.com

DataLab is an open-source platform for scientific and technical data
processing and visualization, based on NumPy, SciPy, ... and Qt.
It's extendable with plugins, and works seamlessly as a complementary tool
with your IDE (e.g. Spyder, VSCode, ...) and Project Jupyter notebooks.

The main idea behind DataLab is to propose in a single software not only a
no-code solution for processing and visualizing signals and images, but
also a **simple yet powerful self-consistent platform** that is highly
extendable with plugins, macros or directly by remote-control (from your
favorite IDE or Jupyter Notebook). So, with DataLab, you have the best of
both worlds: no-code solution for quick data processing, and Python code
solution for more advanced processing with your own Python scripts and
libraries.

💥 New Features:
- Major user interface overhaul: reorganized menus and toolbars, new icons,
...
- New validation process for testing processing features from a
mathematical point of view
- Signal processing: offset correction, power spectrum, PSD, frequency
filters, windowing, ...
- Image processing: thresholding, intensity profile along a segment, ...

More information on the new features and improvements can be found in the
release notes:
https://datalab-platform.com/en/contributing/changelog.html

💡 You have a project or a use case in mind? You want to contribute? We'd
love to hear from you!
So please, don't hesitate to contact us or to open an issue on our GitHub
project for any request or question.

Thank you for taking the time to read my announcement. Looking forward to
your thoughts.

Best,
Pierre Raybaut
